365 Days Locked Love with a Mermaid - Chapter 3
I hung up the phone and jogged to catch up with him.
“Ji Huaixing, it’s not what you heard, don’t listen to that idiot talking nonsense…”
“Enough, Sang Yu.” Ji Huaixing stopped in his tracks, not even glancing at me. His voice was cold, but his back trembled slightly. “Go find him. I told you, I won’t stop you anymore.”
I bit my lip and rushed forward, hugging his waist.
His back stiffened, as if he wanted to break free.
I decided to go all in, turned his face toward me, yanked off his glasses, and started kissing him messily.
He tried to struggle, but was afraid of hurting me. He held my waist loosely, letting me cover his face with kisses and saliva.
A long moment passed.
I opened my eyes and looked at Ji Huaixing.
His eyes were red, watery, his collar was disheveled, looking thoroughly ravaged by me.
Feeling guilty, I looked away, not daring to speak to him.
Ji Huaixing glanced at me, then lowered his eyes, his voice low: “Now that you’ve kissed me, are you going to find him?”
“Of course not!”
I whipped my head around, almost swearing to the heavens: “Liking Jiang Nan before was my own blindness. Ji Huaixing, I swear, from now on, I only have eyes for you. Let’s live well together.”
Ji Huaixing lifted his eyelids to look at me, then lowered his head again, letting out two bitter laughs: “You’ve said this kind of lie countless times.”
I panicked, desperate to prove myself: “This time it’s really not a lie, Ji Huaixing…”
Ji Huaixing fiddled with the ring on his ring finger, saying nothing, but clearly not believing me.
Watching his movements, I suddenly remembered that the Merman clan seemed to have a Covenant that, once formed, binds them together for life.
In my previous life, he was so angry with me that he tried more than once to form a Covenant, but I always refused him, even threatening my own life.
Thinking of this, I felt like I’d grabbed a lifeline and quickly said, “Do you Mermen have some kind of Covenant?”
Ji Huaixing kept his head down, still silent.
“I’m willing to form a Covenant with you, to be bound to you forever. Do you belie-”
“Okay.” Ji Huaixing raised his head in an instant.
The words “Do you believe me” got stuck in my throat.
Outside the window, the two little birds started chirping again.
[Gagaga, fishing, fishing, this is fishing.]
[Gagaga, got tricked, Sang Dayong got tricked.]
I didn’t catch it: “What are they saying? Fishing what?”
“Fishing.”
Ji Huaixing’s expression didn’t change: “They said they want to go fishing.”
Me: ? Fishing? Birds want to fish?
