Like in a dream, Su Hua stood there with cold hands and feet, her mind completely blank.

Seeing Su Hua, Gu Beixian sobered up a little, forcefully pushed Chu Suosuo away, and stood up with the help of the sofa.

Chu Suosuo turned her head to look behind, feigning surprise as she called out, “Sister Su, you’re here?”

Only then did Su Hua feel as if she had been pulled awake from a dream, her heart pounding wildly.

She turned and left immediately, forgetting to close the door.

Sometimes, when things are too big, too unexpected, people simply don’t have time to react.

She didn’t cry, nor did she make a scene, she just felt her steps falter and the scenery blur.

The chilly spring wind lashed her face, cold as ice.

Blown by the cold wind, Su Hua gradually sobered up, growing angrier the more she thought about it.

Did Gu Beixian have the driver call her over just to let her see him being intimate with Chu Suosuo?

The day he suggested breaking up, she had already agreed readily-so why did he have to humiliate her like this?

Is it because he doesn’t love her that he can hurt her however he pleases?

Anger surged through every pore of her body.

Su Hua walked straighter and straighter, finally striding with iron resolve.

She walked out the villa gate.

The driver was waiting at the door, opening the car door and saying, “Young Madam, President Gu asked me to take you home.”

Su Hua was silent for a long time before bending down and getting in.

The driver closed the door and called Gu Beixian, “President Gu, I’ve found Young Madam. I’ll take her home right away, don’t worry.”

“Alright.”

Gu Beixian put down his phone, his gaze cold as he looked at Chu Suosuo. “You did that on purpose, didn’t you?”

Chu Suosuo drooped her brows, speaking aggrievedly, “I didn’t know Sister Su would come at such a moment. I just slipped and accidentally fell onto you…”

“I’m drunk, not stupid!”

Chu Suosuo pouted, tears streaming down her face. “It’s my fault. I’ll call Sister Su right now and explain.”

She reached into her pocket for her phone.

Gu Beixian raised his hand to stop her, his tone a bit impatient: “No need. The more you explain, the worse it gets. You should go home first.”

“But you…”

“It’s just being drunk, I won’t die.” Gu Beixian slumped heavily onto the sofa, raising his hand to pinch his brow.

He looked thoroughly annoyed.

Chu Suosuo didn’t move, standing there with her head bowed, looking like a wronged little wife.

Suppressing her sobs, her shoulders trembled.

Seeing her like this, Gu Beixian felt a pang of guilt and said, “I’m not blaming you. Su Hua didn’t do anything wrong. I shouldn’t have hurt her like this.”

“But you asked her for a divorce-that’s already hurting her.”

“Then I’ll try to minimize the hurt, not humiliate her this way.”

“Long pain is worse than short pain. Doing this will only hurt her more,” Chu Suosuo added softly, “and it hurts me too.”

“The divorce can’t happen for now. Grandma doesn’t agree.” Gu Beixian glanced at her indifferently. “My divorce with her isn’t all because of you. Mentioning you is just a pretext.”

It was like a blow to the head-Chu Suosuo was stunned.

Her face turned pale, lips trembling as she asked, “Brother Beixian, is that just angry talk, or are you telling the truth after drinking?”

Gu Beixian raised his hand to his forehead, sounding irritable: “I drank too much, I might say things that upset you. Just go.”

Afraid he’d say something even more cruel, and even more afraid things would become irreparable, Chu Suosuo left tearfully, unwilling to accept it.

After she left, Gu Beixian called her father, telling him to keep an eye on his daughter and make sure she didn’t try to kill herself again.

The next day at noon.

Antique Studio.

Su Hua received a bank card sent by someone on behalf of Gu Beixian.

The person delivering the card said, “Young Madam, this is a small compensation from President Gu. The password is your birthday.”

Su Hua looked at the card and gave a self-mocking smile.

Money is a good thing, but sometimes, giving money is a form of humiliation.

She pushed the card back and said, “Tell him I don’t need money.”

“President Gu asks that you must accept it. He asked me to pass on a message: Seeing is not always believing. Whatever decision you make, he will agree.”

“I understand.”

After the person left, she sat quietly for a while, then got up to pack her things and went to a nearby restaurant for a meal.

As soon as she stepped out, she ran into Chu Suosuo, dressed in white and looking pitiful.

She was holding a bouquet of white roses, and said softly, “Sister Su, can we talk?”
Su Hua restrained her emotions and looked at her indifferently for a few seconds before saying, “Alright.”

The two of them went to a nearby Western restaurant.

After sitting down, Chu Suosuo placed the flowers on the table.

Gently stroking the velvety rose petals, she said with a blissful expression, “I never expected Brother Beixian to be so romantic. Early in the morning, he sent someone to deliver flowers to me. After three years, he still remembers that my favorite is white roses. Twenty roses, representing unwavering love.”

Su Hua felt a mix of emotions in her heart.

They had been married for three years, and during every holiday, Gu Beixian only ever sent her cards, never flowers-not even a single one.

So it turned out he wasn’t incapable of romance; he just wasn’t willing to be romantic with her.

Twenty roses, unwavering love-their love would never change. How “touching.”

The waiter brought over the coffee.

Chu Suosuo picked up a spoon and slowly stirred her coffee, speaking sweetly, “Brother Beixian and I grew up together. He’s always doted on me since we were kids…”

Su Hua took a sip of her coffee and said coolly, “Miss Chu, could you please get to the point? I’m busy and don’t have time to listen to your nonsense.”

Chu Suosuo shrugged, “So Sister Su does have a temper after all, just not in front of Brother Beixian. What an act.”

Su Hua sneered, “I am still Gu Beixian’s wife. You broke into my house at night and clung to my husband, and I didn’t throw coffee in your face-that’s me being gracious. Miss Chu, don’t mistake my courtesy for weakness.”

“Wow.” Chu Suosuo stuck out her tongue and made a surprised face, “Sister Su looks just like a tigress right now.”

Su Hua’s hand holding the coffee cup trembled slightly-she really wanted to throw it in her face.

Chu Suosuo waited for a while, but when Su Hua didn’t throw the coffee at her, she was a little disappointed.

She’d set a trap, but Su Hua didn’t fall for it, so she had to move on to the next tactic.

Staring intently at Su Hua’s face, she said, “Sister Su, you’re a smart person. Seeing me here, you should be able to guess that you’re just a stand-in Gu Beixian found. Now that the real one is back, shouldn’t you leave?”

“The real one?” Su Hua almost laughed. “Miss Chu, have you never been to school, or are you just ignorant of the law? Gu Beixian and I are legally married, protected by law. I am the real one.”

Chu Suosuo clicked her tongue twice and mocked, “You’re about to get divorced, so what are you so arrogant about?”

Su Hua straightened her back, “As long as we’re not divorced, you have nothing to be arrogant about.”

Chu Suosuo snorted and played her trump card, “Three years ago, you married Brother Beixian for ten million. I’ll give you double.”

She pulled out a check from her wallet and slapped it on the table, “Here’s twenty million. Take the money and leave him immediately!”

Su Hua glanced lightly at the check and said, “I didn’t marry Gu Beixian just for the money.”

Chu Suosuo burst out laughing, “Trying to have it both ways? How fake you are.”

Su Hua pressed her lips together and looked at her coldly-she really wanted to slap her.

Chu Suosuo said in a contemptuous tone, “Three years ago, your grandmother had uremia and needed a kidney transplant. To pay for her treatment, your family even sold your house and was dirt poor. It’s only been a few years since you got together with Brother Beixian, and you’ve already forgotten your roots? You’re just a wild girl who crawled out of a poor mountain village. No matter how high you climb, you can’t change your shabby background!”

She pushed the check forward, raised her chin arrogantly, and said in a patronizing tone, “Take it. Stop pretending to be noble!”

Su Hua was surprisingly calm.

She glanced at the stamp on the check and said lightly, “You got the check from your father, didn’t you? Must’ve taken a lot of effort to get the money, huh? Does your whole family support you being a mistress? What a bizarre family. What’s the use of having money? It still can’t cover up your ugly hearts.”

Chu Suosuo’s face flushed red and then pale, “You’re talking nonsense!”

Su Hua stood up and looked down at her, “I restore ancient paintings and calligraphy. If I wanted to make money in this field, it wouldn’t be hard. Three years ago, even if I hadn’t married Gu Beixian, I could have earned ten million with my own hands.”

She grabbed the check and threw it in Chu Suosuo’s face, “Take your money and get lost. Stop disgusting people!”

The check hit her face, and Chu Suosuo was furious!

She lunged at Su Hua, reaching out to scratch her face!

But just as she was about to, a figure suddenly darted out from the side, grabbed Chu Suosuo, and gave her a thorough beating right in the face!
