Desert Book - Chapter 3
Chapter 3
Isis brought me back to the Life God’s Domain.
Compared to the lifeless Underworld, the cold and desolate Light God Domain, and the chaotic Dark God Domain, Isis’s Life God’s Domain was undoubtedly the most livable.
Birds sang, flowers bloomed-it was a paradise on earth.
Anything he desired could be created within this Divine Realm with just a single thought.
Here, Isis was the absolute ruler.
Once we returned to the Divine Realm, Isis’s strange behavior vanished entirely.
He looked at my reddened lips with a hint of apology. “I’m sorry. I lost control just now.”
He raised his hand to manifest a glowing orb of light and gently rolled it over my lips. Within a few breaths, the burning, swollen sensation completely receded.
Watching Isis return to his normal self, I finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Remembering that I still had a mission to complete, I immediately said, “It’s okay. I know you were doing it for my own good. I don’t blame you.”
As soon as the words left my mouth, Isis looked at me with deep emotion, and the Quest Book suddenly popped up.
The previously empty Progress Bar now showed a tiny sprout of green in the section belonging to Isis.
He really was as simple and easy to win over as ever.
Thinking back on my past behavior-completing the route and then heartlessly abandoning him-I felt a rare pang of guilt.
And that guilt only grew because of Isis’s thoughtfulness.
During my previous playthroughs, Isis had treated me like a junior to be looked after, but back then, he was more like a host hosting a guest-polite enough, but lacking intimacy.
Now, it was the exact opposite.
Isis already knew me well enough. He knew my tastes, my habits, and my preferred style of clothing.
Because of this, he did everything personally. Even for things that could easily be solved with Divine Power, he insisted on doing them by hand, just like a human.
Watching Isis cook a meal himself and then even attempt to pick me up to feed me, I was moved to tears but firmly refused. “Isis, there’s no need to go this far.”
Even though I called myself a pervert, this was a bit too much.
Because the weather was somewhat warm, Isis was only wearing a single layer of Moon Shadow Gauze. He frowned slightly, his voice laced with sadness and a desire to please. “Xie Weila, please don’t push me away, okay?”
In that moment, even his dazzling golden hair seemed to lose its luster.
The guilt lingering in my heart made me cave immediately.
It was just a meal, right? What did it matter where I sat while eating?
I stopped resisting and let Isis lift me up to sit at the head of the dining table.
His long, fair hand held a steak knife, carving a piece of succulent, juicy roasted meat before holding it to my lips.
Isis’s voice was tender, as if he were coaxing a child. “Come, try this.”
Enduring the embarrassment, I took a bite.
The next second-
[Ding~]
The green Progress Bar jumped up another notch.
Wait, even this works?
My eyes lit up, and I proactively grabbed Isis’s wrist. “I want more.”
Isis blinked in surprise, then gently stroked my hair with a tender expression. “Alright.”
“As long as there is still something you want… that is enough.”
