Regarding this livestream, new bets appeared in the Black Market of the Underground City.

People rushed to place their wagers.

The bet was whether the mysterious female shop assistant would lose her hands, or whether the siblings from the Fifth District would throw down 100,000 Gold Coins.

The interrupted livestream made it impossible to settle the bets.

The District Chief of the Fifth District couldn’t get through to his son and daughter on the phone.

His wrinkled fingers stroked the photo album, lingering on the bespectacled female shop assistant.

He muttered to himself, “As long as I find you, I’ll be saved… The miracle will happen again, and this time, you must come for me…”

Lin She had finally recovered and regained his health.

When he came out of the library, his complexion was no longer pale; his black hair and lips, with a touch of color in his cheeks, made him seem less gloomy.

“Congratulations on your recovery.” Gu Huaiwei had her hair loosely tied in a low bun, sitting cross-legged on the sofa by the tea lounge, stirring the rock sugar in her coffee cup with a spoon. “While you were away, a few people came to the hotel and caused trouble.

They cut off the livestream, so our advertising didn’t get enough exposure. The membership cards you designed so carefully-none of them sold.

Do you know how to set up livestream equipment? Maybe we should do our own livestream?”

“Sure, I’ll look into the Underground City’s livestream system.” Lin She agreed. When he spoke, his lips moved more naturally, not as strangely as before.

“By the way, I bought some clothes. Try them on.”

Gu Huaiwei set her coffee cup aside, got up from the sofa in her blue shark slippers, and pulled a suitcase out of the lounge.

“Stop wearing that black trench coat. It’s hot during the day and cold at night here.

Even if the hotel is climate-controlled, wearing something so thick just looks odd.

You’re a hotel staff member-your personal image represents the hotel’s face.

We should dress bright and cheerful, so guests will believe we’re running a legitimate business.”

Gu Huaiwei knelt by the suitcase, unzipped it, found the men’s clothes she’d bought earlier, and tossed them to Lin She.

A few strands of hair brushed her cheek, tickling her. She tucked them behind her ear, sat on the floor, and leaned back on her hands.

“These are employee benefits, you know. Go try on a couple outfits for me.”

Lin She took the clothes, his expression calm, and turned to walk into the library.

A few minutes later, the library door opened and Lin She came out.

He had chosen a loose, light gray linen shirt, the collar slightly open to reveal two pale lines of his collarbones. The shirt sleeves were rolled up, showing smooth muscle lines on his arms.

The skin on his neck no longer bore those strange markings.

It seemed his illness had truly healed.

“How is it?” Lin She seemed uncomfortable with exposed skin and tried to button the shirt higher.

“Good choice, this suits you.” Gu Huaiwei thought Lin She looked much more approachable in the new outfit-closer to human, rather than some cold-blooded creature surviving in the darkness.

“Since you’re recovered, I’ll take my regular weekend off and go home.

There are two unwelcome guests at the hotel entrance. Not only did they bombard our front door with shells, they also ruined my carpet and potted plants with Radiation Fluid.

They’ll be staying here for half a month. While I’m gone, if they cause trouble, don’t hold back. Make sure they pay for any damages.”

Lin She nodded, speaking in his usual calm tone: “If they refuse to compensate, can I kill them, chop them into small pieces, and sell them to the Rat People to make up for the hotel’s losses?”
Gu Huaiwei was slightly taken aback, looking at Lin She with some surprise. “In principle, you can’t,” she replied.

“What about outside of principle?” His voice was casual and natural, but the stark contrast between his tone and his words made Gu Huaiwei feel a chilling wind crawling up her spine.

That sensation of being watched by something sinister had returned.

“If you think it’s necessary, you can do it.” Gu Huaiwei belonged to a peaceful era; abiding by laws and regulations was her habit.

She thought Lin She must be like her, from another time and space.

Every world has its own moral and living standards.

Perhaps in Lin She’s world, killing was as ordinary as eating.

She saw no need to interfere with his habits.

Lin She showed a slightly gloomy smile. “I will put the interests of the Oasis Hotel above all else.”

Gu Huaiwei looked at his face.

This person really couldn’t be bright and sunny no matter what.

Xiao Youqi returned to the Oasis Hotel with the repaired Chip.

Gu Huaiwei was at the entrance, feeding two potted plants with earthworm-flavored Nutrient Solution.

“Why did you tie them up here?” Through his Protective Suit, Xiao Youqi looked twice to confirm that one of the bound people was indeed the District Chief’s Son who had argued with him on the forum before.

“Because they refused to pay, damaged my carpet and potted plants, and wouldn’t compensate me, so I made them hold signs at the entrance to pay their debt.”

Gu Huaiwei tossed aside the empty Nutrient Solution bottle, smiled sweetly at Xiao Youqi, and reached out her hand. “Is my Chip fixed?”

Xiao Youqi placed the Chip in Gu Huaiwei’s palm.

He was never an honest person, and lying came naturally to him. “It’s fixed. It cost 200 Gold Coin. Do you want to see the transfer record?”

In reality, repairing the Chip only cost 120 Gold Coin.

Xiao Youqi had the old man in the Eighth District who did the repair accept a transfer of 200 Gold Coin, then privately pocketed the 80 Gold Coin difference.

“No need.” Gu Huaiwei only needed Xiao Youqi to solve her problem.

As for the fee, as long as it wasn’t outrageous, it was fine.

“Can I take a picture of these two and post it on the forum?” Xiao Youqi looked at the District Chief’s Son in his miserable state, feeling quite pleased.

He had already tested the power of the hotel security robots.

This group from the Middle District, who thought they were important just because they had some influence, finally tasted hardship in the Contaminated Zone.

“No.” Gu Huaiwei refused sternly. “If you do that, people will misunderstand and think we’re a Black Shop.”

Isn’t it, though?

Xiao Youqi thought so, but didn’t say it out loud.

With a super-strong security system and staff immune to radiation, the place looked nothing like an ordinary Wasteland hotel, but more like an Apocalypse Fortress.

“I’ve already transferred the remaining Gold Coin to your Chip. The previous batch of goods is sold out. Bring more next time.”

“No rush.” Gu Huaiwei temporarily paused the transaction. “Let’s stop for a while. We’ve earned enough lately.”

She knew that in her dream, her sister’s warning was not a simple illusion, but a prophecy that needed serious attention.

Gu Huaiwei wanted to figure out the Chip issue first.

“No.” Xiao Youqi suddenly raised his voice, then realized his loss of composure, lowered his tone, and pleaded, “I’ve negotiated a big deal in the Eighth District. We can make a lot of money.”

He needed a large amount of Gold Coin.

His body couldn’t wait any longer.
