When Gu Xiaonuan opened her eyes, the bed beside her was empty, still carrying a trace of warmth.

The sound of running water came from the bathroom. Gu Xiaonuan glanced at her watch, yawned, got out of bed, and pushed the door open to walk in directly.

Behind the hazy frosted glass, the silhouette of a tall, attractive body was cast upon it. Gu Xiaonuan began to tidy herself up.

Hearing movement outside, the sound of water in the bathroom suddenly stopped. “Miss Gu?” Lu Yichen’s slightly flustered voice came from inside. “I’m taking a shower, you…”

“It’s fine, go ahead.”

Gu Xiaonuan bent down to wash her face, her actions completely unaffected. The sound of water resumed in the bathroom, and Lu Yichen’s voice came out, blurred by the water.

“Could you hand me the towel?”

Gu Xiaonuan glanced at the towel placed outside the door, opened the door slightly, and handed it in.

Steam rushed out from inside. Gu Xiaonuan squinted slightly as a slender arm reached out from behind the door, missing the towel but accurately grabbing Gu Xiaonuan’s wrist.

“Ah, sorry, I meant the towel.”

He quickly let go, but in that moment, the bathroom door was inadvertently opened.

Mist swirled around him, his damp black hair messy yet smooth, his perfectly slender body fully revealed.

Just as she had thought, he looked slim on the outside but was actually well-built.

With such a physique, how could eating just a little make him so weak he couldn’t stand?

“Miss Gu?”

His handsome face was flushed. Lu Yichen stepped forward, took the towel from Gu Xiaonuan’s hand, and, under her gaze, wrapped it around his waist with a hint of shyness.

“…Don’t look at me like that.”

Gu Xiaonuan quickly turned away, not at all embarrassed. After all, the Vampire Clan was known for their boldness; she’d seen plenty of naked bodies in all sorts of situations.

Living for the moment-they truly embodied that human saying to the extreme.

“Is Miss Gu quite used to this?”

The man with the towel around his waist stood beside her, drying his hair with another towel. In the mirror, Lu Yichen’s slightly defined chest and flat, somewhat muscular abdomen were clearly visible.

Gu Xiaonuan responded with a hum and continued to tidy herself up. “Do you have any plans to go out soon? If you do, you must tell me. I’ll go with you.”

“Alright, I’ll let you know in advance.”

Gu Xiaonuan looked at her reflection in the mirror. “I’m heading out now.”

Seeing she was about to leave, Lu Yichen, still damp with steam, suddenly leaned in and kissed her lightly on the forehead. “I’ll wait for you to come back.”

The man looked at her shyly, just like a newlywed wife waiting for her husband to return home.

“You…” Gu Xiaonuan frowned slightly, suddenly realizing something. She had never asked Lu Yichen about his relationship status.

If he had a girlfriend, or someone he liked, all her conclusions would have to be reconsidered.

As a member of the Vampire Clan, she had no intention of getting involved in the complexities of human emotions.

The establishment of a Blood Contract was not their voluntary choice. For the Blood Clan, its significance simply didn’t exist for her.

He was a virgin, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t have feelings.

“Do you have a girlfriend?”

Gu Xiaonuan asked directly, “Or is there someone you like?”

Lu Yichen was stunned. The shy expression he had just worn gradually faded, and a faint sense of gloom seemed to gather around him.

He had been so obvious, yet she hadn’t noticed at all?

If only she could be bound by human ways, he wouldn’t have to go to such lengths…

Ah, all this effort, and yet it had no effect on her at all.

“If I did, what would Miss Gu do? Would you no longer need me as your food?” Lu Yichen raised the corners of his mouth, his fingers resting on the towel at his waist.

“Or… would you help me pursue her?”

Gu Xiaonuan frowned slightly, thinking seriously. “I could. If it would make you happy and keep you in good condition, I could help you.”

Lu Yichen looked at her earnest answer, his eyes narrowing slightly. If he confessed that the one he liked was her, she would probably run away on the spot.

He’d already let her run away once; he couldn’t let it happen a second time.

“I don’t have one. Sorry to disappoint you, Miss Gu.”

Gu Xiaonuan tilted her head to look at him. “Really?”

“No.” The man smiled at her. “What about you, Miss Gu? Is there someone you like?”

Just as she was about to walk out, Gu Xiaonuan was stopped by his question. She replied coldly, “For the Vampire Clan, falling in love is the most foolish thing. That’s something you humans like to do.”
Lu Yichen laughed, “Are you afraid of being left behind?”

Gu Xiaonuan stood frozen, her gaze at Lu Yichen a little strange. From the very first day Ji Xiangnan took care of her, he made it clear to her.

Do not get emotionally involved with humans, or the one left behind will always be you.

At that time, she didn’t understand what he meant at all, and Ji Xiangnan never gave any extra explanation, just ordered her to remember this.

With the Old Man’s decades-long, day-after-day reminders, she had etched it deeply into her mind.

“What if I promise never to leave Miss Gu behind?”

“I don’t believe you.” Gu Xiaonuan pushed open the door. “…And I don’t want that.”

The petite woman walked out. Lu Yichen heard the sound of the door closing outside and looked at himself in the mirror.

No disappointment, no discouragement.

In those eyes, a faint flame had begun to rise.

Don’t want it?

Long fingers slowly reached up to touch the mirror, and Lu Yichen smiled wantonly.

I’ll make you say it, say you want me, that you can’t do without me.

As soon as work was over, Ji Xiangnan’s message arrived right on time: just four words, Come to me.

Gu Xiaonuan glanced at the message, wanting to ask the Old Man what he wanted and why she had to go to him, but in the end she didn’t ask.

The Old Man always did things this way-never telling you the reason, and even if you asked, there would be no answer.

Gu Xiaonuan soon returned to Ji Xiangnan’s apartment. She looked at the door next to her; at this time, Lu Yichen should still be busy with his new book.

Gu Xiaonuan took a deep breath and pushed open Ji Xiangnan’s door.

Ji Xiangnan was sitting on the sofa, soft music playing. In his arms was the woman Gu Xiaonuan had seen last time.

Now, her eyes were dazed, clinging to Ji Xiangnan’s chest like a snake.

“You’re here.”

Ji Xiangnan sat with his back to her on the sofa, not even turning his head. With a gesture, a man in front of him stood up, shirtless, and walked toward Gu Xiaonuan.

“What are you doing?”

Gu Xiaonuan quickly dodged to the side. The man’s muscles were beautifully defined and powerful, especially the sound of his heart beating-strong and full.

“I’m teaching this little one how to use her teeth,” Ji Xiangnan glanced back, a crimson shimmer in his eyes. “You’re so rough when you bite, it honestly makes me feel embarrassed.”

“T-that doesn’t mean he has to…” The man approached Gu Xiaonuan as if possessed, his eyes unfocused, as if deeply entranced.

Ji Xiangnan smiled faintly. “If you practiced on your own food, I’m afraid you wouldn’t be able to control yourself.”

The woman in his arms let out a soft sound, proactively climbing onto him, but Ji Xiangnan reached out and pushed her down onto the sofa.

“Come here.”

Ji Xiangnan called, referring to Gu Xiaonuan who was standing there.

Gu Xiaonuan obediently stepped forward. The woman lying on the sofa twisted unconsciously, and Ji Xiangnan suddenly lifted one of her legs, his cold fingertips pressing a certain spot.

The woman raised her neck, murmuring something indistinct.

Ji Xiangnan’s fangs showed as he bit down on the pulsing vein.

Gu Xiaonuan watched with an expressionless face. At this moment, the shirtless man moved closer again.

Blood flowed from the wound, standing out in stark contrast against the woman’s pale skin.

Ji Xiangnan looked up, his blood-red eyes fixed on Gu Xiaonuan. “It’s not only the neck you can bite. Follow my method and go ahead.”

The man leaned in closer. Gu Xiaonuan instinctively wanted to resist; his body temperature was much warmer than Lu Yichen’s, and the heat made her very uncomfortable.

“Xiao Nuan?”

Ji Xiangnan’s voice was icy cold. Gu Xiaonuan snapped back to her senses, her fangs exposed.

“The chest, near the heart.”

Ji Xiangnan’s voice directed Gu Xiaonuan’s movements. Her cold hands trembled as she was about to touch the man’s body.

“…I can’t!”

She growled, backing away rapidly, hugging herself as she crouched on the floor, fangs showing, yet she felt no desire for blood at all.

Ji Xiangnan pushed aside the woman in his arms and watched Gu Xiaonuan curl up trembling on the floor, his dark eyes narrowing slightly.

Gu Xiaonuan hugged herself tightly, burying her face in her knees.

At that moment, she finally realized.

She could use her teeth, but her only possible target was Lu Yichen.
