Gu Xiaonuan, hugging her knees and squatting there, looked nothing like a Vampire-she seemed more like a lost human lamb.

Ji Xiangnan looked at her, and for a moment, it was as if he had returned to the first time he ever saw Gu Xiaonuan.

She had been just as lost and desolate, her fangs exposed, appearing before him as if fleeing for her life.

With a barely audible sigh, Ji Xiangnan’s long, almond-shaped eyes were hidden behind his glasses. The woman on the sofa sat up in a daze, trying to embrace him.

“Xiao Nuan, come here.”

Ji Xiangnan spoke, letting the woman move against him. The squatting Gu Xiaonuan lifted her head, “Old Man, I can’t do it, please don’t…”

“Come here and watch.”

Ji Xiangnan’s tone left no room for refusal. The woman in his arms slithered up like a snake, trying to kiss his lips, but Ji Xiangnan pushed her away again, sending her sprawling.

The woman’s pale arm reached out again, but when Ji Xiangnan looked at her, she withdrew her hand, lying breathlessly on the sofa, unconsciously twisting her body.

A man walked over to Ji Xiangnan’s side. Ji Xiangnan’s cold, pale fingers gripped his head, his eyes fixed on Gu Xiaonuan. “Xiao Nuan.”

His voice was much deeper, as if on the verge of being suppressed.

Gu Xiaonuan shivered and stood up from where she was, walking over again under Ji Xiangnan’s oppressive gaze.

Before she could speak, Ji Xiangnan’s fangs pierced the man’s skin, and blood began to flow from the wound.

“Watch carefully where I bite. Remember it.”

As if demonstrating for her, Ji Xiangnan’s fangs only pierced the skin-he didn’t drink a single drop of blood. Gu Xiaonuan watched him bite different spots, watched the blood well up from each wound.

While biting, Ji Xiangnan explained to her.

Finally, he pushed the man away, brought his blood-stained finger to his mouth, and muttered irritably, “Did you remember clearly?”

His bad mood was written all over his face.

Gu Xiaonuan nodded. Ji Xiangnan waved his hand, and without waiting for him to speak, Gu Xiaonuan ran off quickly, pushing open the door and leaving.

His glasses were gently removed. Ji Xiangnan rubbed his temples with some weariness, his figure flashing as he disappeared inside, no longer interested in feeding.

Gu Xiaonuan rushed out the door, quickly walked next door, her fingers trembling as she opened the door. Lu Yichen heard the noise and immediately opened the door. “You’re back?”

Gu Xiaonuan replied with a hum, brushed past him, and headed straight for her bedroom, while Lu Yichen stood at the door, watching her slip into her room.

Even though she moved quickly, even though the scent was faint to the extreme, Lu Yichen narrowed his eyes. It was the scent of blood-on her… there was someone else’s blood.

“Mr. Lu? Mr. Lu?”

The conference call was still ongoing. Lu Yichen glanced at Gu Xiaonuan’s room and went back. “I’m here. Where were we just now…”

Gu Xiaonuan rushed back to her bedroom, still in shock.

She sat dazedly on the bed, unable to accept it.

With the existence of the Blood Contract, even blood bags were useless. As long as the contract wasn’t broken, her only food was Lu Yichen.

If he were injured or died, if someone took him away, if any accident happened…

Would she be driven mad by hunger?

Would she be starved to nothing but bones and rotten skin, forever trapped by the contract, barely clinging to life?

Her phone rang. A message from Ji Xiangnan popped up.

“Everything I just taught you, you must remember it all.”

Gu Xiaonuan glanced at it without replying. Another message quickly followed.

“Kid, if you don’t want a miserable life, do as you’re told.”

Gu Xiaonuan’s body trembled slightly. She picked up her phone and replied, “I understand.”

The young Vampire curled up on the bed, wishing she could shrink into a ball. The craving for a single food source and the fear of losing it-was that something she could endure?

The Blood Contract that even 300-year-old Ji Xiangnan dared not make-she had done it. No wonder the Old Man was angry.

Gu Xiaonuan couldn’t help curling up even smaller. In these decades, besides staying by Lu Yichen’s side, did she have any other choice?

From Lu Yichen’s room, the faint sound of discussion could still be heard. Gu Xiaonuan shook her hair, climbed off the bed, and walked into the bathroom.
She forced herself to clear her mind. She had to remember everything the Old Man had taught her.

In the icy water, Gu Xiaonuan recalled the feeding spot Ji Xiangnan had chosen earlier. He had said that for humans, wounds take time to heal. Although the saliva of the Vampire Clan could help humans heal external injuries faster, the feeding spot should not always be in the same place.

Keep the food healthy, maintain the food’s mood.

Try to fulfill every request the food has. If possible, give him everything he wants, both psychologically and physically.

Suddenly, the cold water stopped pouring over Gu Xiaonuan’s head. Immersed in Ji Xiangnan’s teachings, she hadn’t noticed Lu Yichen entering.

He pushed open the bathroom door and stood right in front of her.

“You…!”

Her curves were fully exposed to those dark eyes, cold droplets rolling down from her hair.

Yet there was not a trace of desire in the man’s gaze-he simply stared at her intently.

“Miss Gu, did you go and bite someone else?”

Lu Yichen spoke in a low voice, reaching out his hand. Just as Gu Xiaonuan was about to push him away, he murmured softly, “Xiao Nuan, answer me.”

Her cold hand paused on his chest. Gu Xiaonuan’s body froze in place, and, unable to control herself, she took a step forward, sending herself into his arms.

Warm fingers touched her neck, gently lifting her face.

The water droplets on her body soaked his clothes, but he didn’t care at all.

His warm fingertips slipped into her mouth, finding her little fangs, slowly caressing them, as if both inviting and resisting.

“Your fangs-have they bitten someone else?”

Lu Yichen’s voice was hoarse and trembling slightly. His somewhat messy hair hid his eyes, and Gu Xiaonuan could only see his quivering lashes.

Suddenly, his warm fingers pressed harder, and Gu Xiaonuan’s sharp fangs pierced his skin, drawing blood.

A flush of red appeared in Gu Xiaonuan’s eyes. Just as she was about to feed, the bleeding finger left her lips.

Long, strong fingers gripped her head, lifting her face.

The sweet-tasting blood was smeared on her lips. Lu Yichen watched as she, entranced, stuck out her tongue and drew all the red into her own mouth.

Pa!

His hand suddenly pressed back, and cold water poured down from above, washing over them.

“Is this how it is? You use your fangs to pierce someone else’s body, and with this mouth, you draw their blood?”

Lu Yichen cupped Gu Xiaonuan’s face, water instantly drenching him, streaming from his head down his face.

Gu Xiaonuan looked into his eyes, unable to tell if what remained was water or burning tears.

“Why do you have to bite someone else, why…?”

Lu Yichen murmured, “What do I have to do so you won’t go to someone else? Tell me…”

“I didn’t. I didn’t bite anyone else.”

Gu Xiaonuan took a deep breath, her reddened eyes looking at his wounded fingertip. She turned and shut off the water.

Soaked, Lu Yichen stood there, head slightly lowered as he looked at her, suddenly falling silent.

With a soft sigh, Gu Xiaonuan pushed open the door, grabbed a towel and wrapped it around herself, not caring at all about being seen again. “Take a shower, don’t catch a cold.”

After changing, Gu Xiaonuan sat at the table, lost in thought. The sound of water soon came from the bathroom, along with the spreading steam.

The desire of the contract is mutual. Lu Yichen’s feelings for her were probably because of the contract.

The food longs to offer itself to the Vampire Clan that has formed a contract with it.

Gu Xiaonuan sighed again, unable to stop herself from covering her face with her hands.

Could Lu Yichen, like this, still live a normal human life? If he couldn’t synchronize his emotions with other humans because of the contract, would something go wrong?

He must die a natural death. He must.

Gu Xiaonuan sighed again, her gaze drifting toward the bathroom.

Satisfy him. Fulfill this human’s requests, as long as she was able to.
