Lu Yichen came out of the bathroom, a towel draped over his head, completely covering his features.

Unlike the forcefulness that had burst out of him just moments ago, he now stood there somewhat timidly, not even daring to come closer.

He reached out and rubbed his hair with the towel. Noticing that Gu Xiaonuan was ignoring him, he turned to leave, hand on the door.

“Wait.”

Gu Xiaonuan spoke. His fingers, which were on the doorknob, quickly withdrew. He turned back, the towel still covering his face.

“If you have any requests, just say them. If I can do it, I promise you.”

Gu Xiaonuan stood up. She had figured it out-there was no choice. From now on, she would have to carefully protect her food from the countless covetous eyes of her own kind.

“…Don’t bite anyone else.”

From under the towel came his muffled voice.

Gu Xiaonuan gave a soft “mm,” “Alright, I promise you.”

The head that had been hanging low under the towel lifted up, and he even reached up to take the towel off. The smile on his face couldn’t be hidden at all, and those bright eyes looked at Gu Xiaonuan. “Really?”

Gu Xiaonuan nodded. For a moment, she had the illusion that a flower had bloomed on his head.

Lu Yichen smiled, and it seemed as if the flower on his head smiled along with him.

Gu Xiaonuan rubbed her eyes. He looked at her with puppy-like eyes. “…Can I make other requests?”

He asked cautiously, as if it wouldn’t matter even if he was refused.

“Go ahead, as long as I can do it.”

Gu Xiaonuan looked at his eyes, which lit up again. She could vaguely sense that this man’s emotions were easy to read-he had never tried to hide them.

“Can I sleep with you in my arms?”

His cheeks flushed again. Gu Xiaonuan nodded, “Yes. Anything else?”

“Before you go to work every day, can I kiss your forehead?”

“…Yes.”

“Can you pin my contact at the top of your address book?”

“…Alright.”

“Can I call your name?”

“…You can, but only when you need me,” Gu Xiaonuan looked up. “Don’t call me for no reason-it would bother me.”

Lu Yichen nodded cheerfully, his smile blooming again. “I don’t have any other requests. These are enough.”

Gu Xiaonuan, standing there, frowned deeply. She lifted her face, looking at him in confusion. “Is that all?”

Lu Yichen’s gentle smile suddenly faded. In that moment, he seemed to understand what Gu Xiaonuan meant.

Still damp with mist, he walked over and stood in front of Gu Xiaonuan. “As long as I say it, you’ll agree?”

“Yes.”

The man wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, gently pulling her into his embrace.

His body heat was transmitted clearly through the contact, like the warmth of the winter sun.

“Can I have your body?”

His hand pressed firmly on her waist, pulling them tightly together. “Can you be mine? Can you… live with me, just like a human?”

Gu Xiaonuan froze on the spot. She listened to the sound of his heartbeat coming from his chest. After a while, she said, “…Yes.”

Lu Yichen’s hand on her waist paused. He stepped back, laughing softly as he returned to the bed. “Sorry, I was teasing you.”

He lay down, completely at ease, dressed in the simplest pajamas. His eyes were as clear as if they had been washed a thousand times.

Lu Yichen patted the spot beside him and stretched out his arms to Gu Xiaonuan. “Come into my arms.”

Gu Xiaonuan walked over expressionlessly, and the moment she lay down, his arm circled around her.
“Someone asked me out for dinner this Saturday. Will you come with me?”

Gu Xiaonuan responded with a soft “mm.” She should be free on Saturday, and she was determined not to let Lu Yichen go out alone.

Having received her answer, the arm around her tightened unconsciously. Soon, the man’s steady breathing came from behind her.

Gu Xiaonuan thought about what he had just said. The Old Man once told her that humans are greedy; once you grant their first wish, there will be a second, a third… countless more.

But all the requests he just made-if it wasn’t her, anyone else could have easily fulfilled them.

She turned her head slightly and saw Lu Yichen’s sleeping profile: his high nose bridge, his full cheeks, and those clear eyes now gently closed.

He doesn’t ask for much… does he?

When Gu Xiaonuan got up again, the spot beside her was still empty. She yawned, got up, and went to the bathroom to tidy herself up.

From the kitchen outside came the aroma of food-Lu Yichen must be making breakfast himself. After changing her clothes, Gu Xiaonuan passed by the kitchen and glanced at what he was making. She had to admit, his cooking skills were quite impressive.

“Heading to work?”

Lu Yichen, wearing an apron, put down the spatula in his hand and quickly walked over.

Gu Xiaonuan nodded. As she pushed open the door, she was pulled back. His beautiful eyes were full of laughter as he leaned in and pressed a light kiss to her forehead.

“Go on, come back early.”

Gu Xiaonuan froze again. This scene… wasn’t it a bit strange?

Lu Yichen gave her a gentle push and closed the door behind her. Gu Xiaonuan stood there dumbfounded, unsure how to react.

“Stunned?”

Ji Xiangnan’s voice made Gu Xiaonuan turn her head in a daze. She saw Ji Xiangnan’s teasing expression. “Old Man, you…”

Ji Xiangnan snorted and walked straight into the elevator. Seeing that Gu Xiaonuan hadn’t followed, he couldn’t help but call out, “Aren’t you coming?”

Taking a few quick steps into the elevator, Gu Xiaonuan was still caught up in the scene from just now. Ji Xiangnan looked at her rare dazed expression and spoke in a low voice, “Isn’t this good? Just use a human relationship to tie him to you, so he’ll stay by your side in peace.”

“A human relationship?”

Ji Xiangnan raised an eyebrow. “Do I need to teach you even this?”

“But…”

A strange light flickered at the corner of Ji Xiangnan’s eyes. “Kid, this is your only food. Rather than watching him synchronize his feelings with other humans, why not make him crave you so much that he can’t leave?”

Ji Xiangnan lowered his eyes. “What do you think you are, hmm?”

Inside the apartment, elegant piano music began to play. Lu Yichen sat at the bar, a perfectly shaped fried egg on the plate before him.

The edge of the egg white was a golden arc, the yolk in the center still half-cooked, gently wrapped within.

With the graceful music in the background, the man elegantly picked up the ketchup and squeezed it onto the egg.

The corners of his lips lifted as he picked up a piece with his chopsticks and brought it to his mouth.

Thick red sauce oozed from the corner of his lips. His beautiful eyes narrowed as he stuck out his tongue and gently licked the sauce into his mouth.

He ate slowly, as if savoring every bite.

Thinking of Gu Xiaonuan’s cold expression when she agreed yesterday, the smile in Lu Yichen’s eyes deepened.

He took out his phone. On the map, a little red dot was moving and flashing-that was Gu Xiaonuan’s location.

Lu Yichen’s lips curled as he stared at the little red dot.

No rush. How could he possibly swallow her in one bite?
