Gu Xiaonuan gazed out the car window at the scenery, so familiar that her brows furrowed tighter and tighter. By the time the car stopped, her delicate features were all scrunched up.

She hadn’t expected Sherry to bring her to a gathering of the Vampire Clan.

“Are you really that unwilling to attend a clan gathering?” In the spacious car, Sherry, sitting in front of Gu Xiaonuan, spoke coolly. “You look so timid and scared, just like a rat in the gutter.”

Su Qingqing got out of the car with a smile, noticing that Lu Yichen was still sitting inside. “Mr. Lu, you should get out first.”

Lu Yichen glanced at Gu Xiaonuan beside him, her body nearly frozen in place, but he didn’t move. Instead, Sherry elegantly stepped out of the car.

“It’s just a gathering of a few old friends.”

Gu Xiaonuan couldn’t help but let out a breath. The older Vampire saw her reaction and snorted lightly before getting out of the car.

The sound of high heels echoed in the quiet underground garage. “Aren’t you going to hurry up?”

Gu Xiaonuan pressed her lips together and got out of the car.

“What’s wrong?” Lu Yichen’s warm hand reached over, gripping her slightly sweaty hand tightly. Gu Xiaonuan forced a smile.

“It’s nothing, just some unpleasant memories came to mind.”

Gu Xiaonuan looked ahead at Sherry waiting by the elevator, and couldn’t help but squeeze Lu Yichen’s hand tighter as she walked over.

The large clan gathering only happened once a year.

Every Vampire active in this city was required to attend, without exception.

As for private gatherings, they were countless.

“Is she really that undesirable?” Su Qingqing giggled, leaning in again. “Well, I suppose so. In your eyes, she’s not qualified.”

The elevator stopped at a certain floor. Sherry stepped out in her high heels, and Su Qingqing hurried after her, taking off the lace choker from her neck.

Gu Xiaonuan took a deep breath and walked out with Lu Yichen.

“I can wait for you outside.”

Upon hearing this, Sherry turned around, pressed the doorbell as if she hadn’t heard, and spoke in a low voice as the door opened, “Come in. Don’t make me say it twice.”

Looking at Gu Xiaonuan outside the door, and Lu Yichen beside her, he said, “Oh? The little one can use her fangs now?”

Gu Xiaonuan lowered her head without answering. The man didn’t seem to mind, chuckling as he continued, “Come in, bring your food with you.”
The door closed behind Gu Xiaonuan.

In the spacious living room, four or five elder Vampires turned their heads in unison. Seeing Gu Xiaonuan appear here, all looked surprised, especially when they saw Lu Yichen by her side.

The artistic-looking man seemed to be the host here. Noticing that Gu Xiaonuan seemed ready to bolt at any second, he smiled and said, “Little one, you’d better go upstairs. Don’t come down until it’s over.”

Gu Xiaonuan answered with a soft “Mm” and, under the gazes of the elder Vampires, grabbed Lu Yichen’s hand, preparing to head upstairs.

He tried to open the door, but Gu Xiaonuan stood blocking it. Because he kept calling her, she couldn’t leave, so she simply leaned her back against the door and sat on the floor in distress.

Her fangs were bared, and the blood-red hue in her eyes was growing deeper and deeper.

Inside the door, Lu Yichen took off his glasses and undid a button at his shirt collar, coaxing temptingly, “Open the door.”
