Feed Me, Husband - Chapter 41
As expected, only a vampire could make her say what he wanted to hear.
Humans were no longer of any use.
Lu Yichen watched Gu Xiaonuan fighting for him, his hand pressed over his heart. Xiao Nuan, you are mine, and always will be mine.
Splat.
Blood sprayed through the air; a wound was cut across Gu Xiaonuan’s cheek, and her opponent looked just as battered.
The two vampires were about the same age and evenly matched in strength.
The man who tried to continue fighting, upon seeing something, retracted his fangs. “I’ll let it go this time. Consider yourself lucky.”
Whoosh.
He turned into a shadow and disappeared from the back garden within moments.
In the distance, the sound of chaotic footsteps approached, and the ground lights gradually switched on, spreading further into the garden along with the footsteps.
It was a group on a field trip; over a dozen people had gone out together again that evening. After returning to the hotel in high spirits, they decided to visit the ancient-style garden at night.
They walked along, talking and laughing softly.
Lu Yichen and Gu Xiaonuan were at the far end of the back garden. Gu Xiaonuan had originally intended to carry Lu Yichen away immediately.
But as she turned to pick him up, he collapsed weakly against her. Feeling his trembling, Gu Xiaonuan gripped his hand tightly. “Don’t be afraid, I’m fine.”
The footsteps and conversation drew closer. At this point, leaving was clearly not appropriate.
Noticing a small pavilion nearby, Gu Xiaonuan carried him inside and sat on the bench along its edge.
Warm, trembling fingers touched her cheek as Lu Yichen pulled her closer. “You’re bleeding.”
“It’s nothing. It’ll be fine by tomorrow.”
Gu Xiaonuan spoke softly, keenly aware that the group was about to pass by. She quickly wrapped her arms around Lu Yichen’s neck, pretending to be a couple out for a midnight date.
The garden light in front of the pavilion flickered on, casting a faint glow their way.
The man’s fingers brushed her chin, gently turning her face towards him. His breath drew near, along with the warmth and moisture of his tongue.
“Lu-!”
Gu Xiaonuan was just about to push him away, but he pressed her into his arms. The man holding her was still trembling slightly, as if he hadn’t yet recovered from his earlier fright.
His tongue softly licked the wound on her cheek, drawing the blood into his mouth.
Lu Yichen’s fingers tightened on her chin, and his tongue moved over the wound and the cold skin around it, again and again.
With a tenderness bordering on affection, he thoroughly licked away every trace of blood from the wound.
The group was almost upon them. Lu Yichen’s large hand gently cradled Gu Xiaonuan’s head. With the taste of her blood still on his tongue, he put his tongue into her mouth, forcing her to taste her own blood.
“Oh, there’s a couple here-we’re spoiling their mood.”
The group saw the two locked in an embrace and laughed as they turned to leave. Someone caught sight of Lu Yichen’s face. “Isn’t that Lu Yichen?”
“The one in his arms… who is she?”
The group turned and left. Only when their footsteps could no longer be heard did Lu Yichen finally release Gu Xiaonuan and her lips.
He glanced at the wound on her fair skin. As more blood appeared, his tongue moved toward it again, but Gu Xiaonuan covered his mouth and pushed him back.
Those blood-red eyes glowed in the night.
“What are you doing? Didn’t I say it’ll be fine by tomorrow?”
Gu Xiaonuan had been force-fed the taste of her own blood. She stuck out her tongue in discomfort. Even knowing it was her own, it was still hard to accept.
“Does it hurt that much? Even if it’s your own blood?”
Lu Yichen held her tightly, watching her repeatedly stick out her tongue, his Adam’s apple moving slightly.
“It’s unbearable… as long as it’s not yours, it’s unbearable…”
Once again, Lu Yichen lifted Gu Xiaonuan’s chin. His face came down toward hers, his warm breath brushing against her nose.
“Xiao Nuan… bite me.”
His breath seemed to enter Gu Xiaonuan through his lips, coaxing her to reveal her fangs.
The sharp fangs hidden in her mouth slid out uncontrollably.
His thin lips met hers, and were instantly pierced by her fangs.
Warm blood flowed from his wound, the sweet taste instantly filling Gu Xiaonuan’s mouth. His taste… had returned.
Her cold hands tightened around Lu Yichen’s neck as she sucked his blood. The wound was tiny, but the blood that came forth was enough to satisfy Gu Xiaonuan’s hunger.
Compared to her usual feeding, this was just a small sip, but Gu Xiaonuan felt an exceptional sense of fulfillment. She narrowed her eyes, looking at the wound on Lu Yichen’s lips.
Unable to resist, she kissed him again, each time drawing a little more blood, which her delicate tongue swept into her mouth.
The pathway lights that had just come on dimmed again; the others had probably already returned to the hotel.
Gu Xiaonuan looked around, stepped out of Lu Yichen’s embrace, and asked, “Can you stand up?”
“I think so.”
Lu Yichen stood up with her help, and the two of them walked back hand in hand. Gu Xiaonuan thought about what had just happened. When Ji Xiangnan (the Old Man) returned, she would ask him for some blood for Lu Yichen.
Ji Xiangnan’s aura was enough to intimidate many vampires.
Back in room 315, Gu Xiaonuan closed the doors and windows tightly. Lu Yichen lay on the bed and opened his arms to her.
Her petite body nestled into his embrace. Lu Yichen lowered himself slightly, his head buried in her chest.
“Aren’t you going to sleep?” He lifted his eyes, his voice already drowsy. Gu Xiaonuan gently wrapped her arms around his shoulders.
“No, I’ll stay here and watch over you.”
Lu Yichen’s arms tightened around her waist, his soft hair scattered over her chest. “…Alright.”
Xiang Kaixi slept very soundly. When she woke up, she could hardly believe how deeply she had slept.
Realizing she had truly slept through the night, she sat up abruptly and looked to the side. Gu Xiaonuan’s bed was empty, and the sound of someone in the bathroom could be heard.
Xiang Kaixi was filled with regret-how could she have fallen asleep!
“Brother Yichen, it’s free time during the day. Let’s explore the ancient town together!” Xiang Kaixi wore denim shorts and a cropped T-shirt, showing off her beautiful figure.
Her hair was tied into a ponytail at the back of her head, brimming with youthful energy.
Seeing Gu Xiaonuan still dressed simply, she felt even more confident in herself.
Lu Yichen was dressed simply and neatly, with only a watch and glasses as accessories. His fair skin and striking features were already enough to attract attention.
He walked over with a smile, reached out, and placed a baseball cap on Gu Xiaonuan’s head. Then he put one on himself.
“No, we’ll explore on our own today.” Lu Yichen smiled, took Gu Xiaonuan’s hand, and led her through the gates of the ancient town.
Xiang Kaixi stood there, looking at the two of them in disbelief. How… how did they get back together again?
Suddenly, Xiang Kaixi felt that all her careful effort at dressing up had made her look like a clown. In the end, she stomped her foot and hurried after them.”
