Novel Info

The ancient county town covered a vast area, with many attractions open to the public and all kinds of immersive performances-truly a dazzling array of entertainment.

There were also plenty of tourists visiting the ancient county town. Except for the streets far from the attractions and without performances, which were sparsely populated, the rest of the streets were packed with people.

Lu Yichen led Gu Xiaonuan through the crowd, their hands tightly clasped together the entire time.

Xiang Kaixi followed behind, unwilling to give up, her pretty face tense and rigid. She looked at the couple’s baseball caps on their heads, but even with her annoyance, she couldn’t find a way to vent it.

Even if Gu Xiaonuan was Yichen-ge’s girlfriend, she could still try to win him over!

“Yichen-ge!” Xiang Kaixi perked herself up, called out, and ran over, squeezing in beside Lu Yichen. “It’s almost noon. Let’s go get something to eat.”

“No need, I’m not hungry yet.”

Lu Yichen replied with a smile. Casually, he shifted from holding hands to wrapping his arm around Gu Xiaonuan’s shoulders, pulling her into his embrace.

Gu Xiaonuan lifted her small face, thinking he must be tired. She quickly reached out and hugged his waist, signaling that he could lean on her if he wanted.

Feeling her little hand, Lu Yichen gently patted her head and really did lean into her.

“The sun’s blazing, isn’t it hot to be stuck together like this on such a hot day?” Xiang Kaixi smiled at Gu Xiaonuan. “Miss Gu, don’t you think so?”

Gu Xiaonuan looked at Xiang Kaixi. “I’m not hot.” She thought for a moment. “If you’re hot, you can walk somewhere shady.”

Xiang Kaixi stared in disbelief at Gu Xiaonuan. Was she really that clueless, or just pretending not to understand?

Lu Yichen smiled. His little Vampire, in this kind of heat, was like a natural ice pack-how could hugging her possibly be hot?

Even if she was warm, he wouldn’t let go anyway.

To look her best, Xiang Kaixi hadn’t worn a hat. Now, at noon, she was risking a tan just to tag along.

In the crowded throng, Xiang Kaixi walked on Lu Yichen’s other side, occasionally turning her head to say something to him.

Lu Yichen responded half-heartedly, his body leaning more and more boldly into Gu Xiaonuan’s embrace.

His dark eyes sparkled with amusement. She was still useful, after all.

Watching the two nearly pressed together, Xiang Kaixi fumed inside, especially at the hand wrapped around Lu Yichen’s waist.

Lu Yichen was wearing a loose T-shirt, but with Gu Xiaonuan’s arm around him, his lean waist was accentuated. He usually gave off a gentle, refined impression, his fair skin adding to the scholarly look.

But now, his waistline was just right, and as his smooth chest and abdomen brushed against the tightened hem of his T-shirt, a hint of muscle showed through, making Xiang Kaixi blush for reasons she couldn’t explain.

Yichen-ge’s figure was actually this good.

Gu Xiaonuan heard Xiang Kaixi’s suddenly quickened heartbeat and couldn’t help but curiously peek over. What was she getting so worked up about, blushing like that?

“What are you looking at?” Lu Yichen noticed and asked softly. Gu Xiaonuan mumbled something, but Lu Yichen didn’t catch it, so he leaned his handsome face closer.

“Xiang Kaixi, her heartbeat sped up a lot.”

Lu Yichen chuckled, resting his chin on the baseball cap atop her head. At the same time, he lifted the hand she had placed on his waist a little higher.

“Xiao Nuan.” He called her softly, feeling her small body tremble slightly in his arms, his eyes filling with even more laughter.

“What is it?”

Gu Xiaonuan hugged his waist tighter. He was almost leaning his whole weight on her. It wasn’t much for her, but was he uncomfortable to be leaning on her like this?
“Do you like it here?”

Lu Yichen’s hand gently stroked her waist, guiding her small hand along. Gu Xiaonuan was taken aback. “I don’t know. I don’t remember.”

Xiang Kaixi watched Gu Xiaonuan’s stroking motion, gritting her teeth in anger, desperately wanting to slap her hand away.

“Then next time, how about biting here?”

Lu Yichen’s voice slid past her ear, his restless fingertips touching her delicate earlobe, softly kneading it.

Gu Xiaonuan felt ticklish from his touch and couldn’t help but try to dodge, shrinking her neck and leaning into his embrace. Lu Yichen tightened his arm, just as he wished.

“Okay.”

Gu Xiaonuan’s reply made his heart beat a little faster, and a faint smile appeared on his lips beneath his baseball cap.

The last time she was drunk, she had already passed out when he carried her back. It was he who woke her with his own blood.

He lured her with his blood, leaving bite marks exactly where he wanted them.

The longing in her eyes for him, the impatient strength with which she pinned him to the bed, and her cold body lying atop his.

How could he possibly stop?

Thinking of that night, Lu Yichen’s eyes darkened even more.

“Yichen-ge, would you like some of this?” Xiang Kaixi’s words interrupted Lu Yichen’s memories as she handed over a snack. Lu Yichen smiled and thanked her, accepting it.

“What is this?” Lu Yichen smelled a hint of alcohol. Xiang Kaixi, noticing he was finally talking to her, quickly flashed a confident, beautiful smile.

“Osmanthus cake, with osmanthus wine inside. The texture is great, and it’s really delicious!”

Lu Yichen smiled, looking at the osmanthus cake in his hand. Osmanthus wine, huh.

A soft, white piece of osmanthus cake was brought to Gu Xiaonuan’s lips. She dodged, but Lu Yichen chuckled, “Did you smell the alcohol?”

“No. Didn’t I tell you? Nothing has any taste to me.”

Lu Yichen spoke in a low voice, “Xiang Kaixi is following us. Just put on a show.”

The man smiled handsomely. “Open your mouth. I’ll feed you.”

Gu Xiaonuan frowned slightly but didn’t refuse again, opening her mouth and letting Lu Yichen feed her the osmanthus cake. She didn’t even chew, just swallowed it directly.

Seeing this, Xiang Kaixi wished she could snatch the osmanthus cake back. She shouldn’t have given it to them!

Along the way, Lu Yichen occasionally fed her a piece, and Gu Xiaonuan obediently ate them all.

At lunchtime, Lu Yichen used the excuse that Gu Xiaonuan had eaten too much osmanthus cake to help her skip the meal.

“Yichen-ge, this is so delicious!”

In a small shop in the ancient city, the three of them sat in a corner, each on their own side.

The dishes were simple yet distinctive. Xiang Kaixi ate with great enthusiasm, and Lu Yichen seemed quite satisfied, nodding in agreement.

Gu Xiaonuan sat there, watching Lu Yichen eat, frowning slightly. Was it really that tasty?

The food looked slippery and tender, and the color was odd.

Gu Xiaonuan stared at it. Her human sense of smell had completely faded; she could no longer taste anything, except for blood.

Lu Yichen picked up a piece with his chopsticks. Before he could bring it to his mouth, Gu Xiaonuan reached out,

grabbing his hand and putting the food from his chopsticks into her own mouth.

Xiang Kaixi was dumbfounded. “Can’t you use chopsticks yourself!”

Gu Xiaonuan chewed and swallowed, tasting nothing at all.

Lu Yichen let out a low laugh. His little Vampire was already starting to get tipsy.
