Gu Xiaonuan looked up. Before she could speak, Ji Xiangnan (the old man) was already behind Lu Yichen, his long fingers firmly lifting Lu Yichen’s chin, exposing his neck completely.

Ji Xiangnan gazed at the bite mark. “His taste really is quite good.”

Lu Yichen’s face was shrouded in shadow. Gu Xiaonuan’s nerves were taut with anxiety, until she saw Ji Xiangnan’s eyes suddenly turn crimson.

“Don’t!”

She raised her hand to shield Lu Yichen’s eyes. Ji Xiangnan let out a cold laugh. With a flick of his hand, Gu Xiaonuan was flung aside-her petite frame powerless to resist and tossed straight to the ground. Ji Xiangnan offered only the faintest, almost unconscious protection, so she only suffered a minor tumble.

“Lu Yichen, look into my eyes.”

Lu Yichen, his head resting against the edge of the sofa, looked up at Ji Xiangnan with dark eyes. Under the gaze of those blood-red eyes, his pupils gradually relaxed, his entire being slipping into a dazed, hypnotized trance.

All of this happened in just a few seconds.

“Old man!” Gu Xiaonuan darted over, staring at Lu Yichen’s vacant face. “What are you doing? Why are you erasing his memory?”

“What, afraid he’ll forget you?”

After all was done, Ji Xiangnan moved to the vast floor-to-ceiling window. The room was dark, only a faint wash of light from the city outside spilling in.

To a vampire, darkness was as clear as daylight.

“I didn’t erase his memory-only made him lose focus for a moment.” Ji Xiangnan looked out at the night view. “Although I’ve already announced to our kind that he’s my food, he still needs to stay by my side for a while.”

Gu Xiaonuan turned to him. “I understand.”

Food is the most sensitive thing for a vampire, especially delicious food without an owner-it rarely ends well.

It would still take some time before the others truly believed Lu Yichen belonged to Ji Xiangnan.

“Take him inside.” Ji Xiangnan gestured with his fingers. Gu Xiaonuan bent down, picked up the vacant-looking Lu Yichen, and carefully settled him on the bed.

“What’s this…!”

Suddenly, Ji Xiangnan’s angry roar sounded from outside. Gu Xiaonuan immediately darted out.

Ji Xiangnan lowered his eyes to his hand-tiny red dots had suddenly appeared. He pulled open his shirt, discovering the rash had already spread up his arm.

“Old man, are you having an allergic reaction?”

Gu Xiaonuan saw faint red spots starting to appear on Ji Xiangnan’s neck. “Old man, your face-there are spots on your face too…”

“Filthy thing!”

With a low growl, the door was flung open and Ji Xiangnan shot back inside like a shadow.

She stood motionless by the window, stunned. Was it Lu Yichen’s blood? Had it made the old man break out in an allergic reaction like this?

On the bed, Lu Yichen’s lips curled in a faint smile, the haze and vacancy in his dark eyes vanishing, replaced by sudden clarity.

A moment later, as Gu Xiaonuan walked in, Lu Yichen immediately slipped back into his ‘blank’ act at just the right moment.

She looked at the man on the bed. His blood had actually made the old man allergic.

This meant that from now on, Ji Xiangnan would never bite him again-not even once.

At this thought, Gu Xiaonuan looked at the bite mark on his neck and no longer felt so upset.

“Ah-!”

Ji Xiangnan’s low growl came again. Gu Xiaonuan turned her head. She had been by Ji Xiangnan’s side for more than twenty years and had never seen him suffer an allergic reaction after feeding.

Her small, chilled frame walked to Lu Yichen’s side and gently patted his face.

She couldn’t break Ji Xiangnan’s enchantment; all she could do was wait for him to recover on his own.

“Lu Yichen,” Gu Xiaonuan called softly. The man lying there turned his head, his gaze empty as he looked at her, as if he would do anything she asked.

“The old man won’t bite you again, don’t be afraid.” Gu Xiaonuan’s fingers gently brushed the bite mark on his neck. At this moment, the unresponsive Lu Yichen looked just like a doll-fragile, silent, and motionless.

Vampires love to toy with humans like this, bewitching their minds for their own amusement. When it comes to food that refuses to obey, this is the best method.
“Xiao Nuan…”

He spoke softly, as if unconsciously calling out. Gu Xiaonuan leaned over, her lifeless eyes wandering, as if searching for something.

Someone gently knocked on the door outside.

Gu Xiaonuan instantly sat up. Ji Xiangnan’s footsteps approached, and he opened the door.

“Why are you here?”

He sounded a little displeased but still let the person in.

Gu Xiaonuan opened the door. It was the same woman she had met before. The woman glanced at Gu Xiaonuan, then, as if she didn’t exist, boldly wrapped her arms around Ji Xiangnan’s neck.

“Don’t you need me? What happened to your face?”

Ji Xiangnan’s eyes swept over to Gu Xiaonuan. She quickly shut the door and retreated, and the sound of a door closing came from that side as well.

“Mm…”

On the bed, Lu Yichen frowned slightly, his gaze gradually clearing.

“What… happened to me?”

He rubbed his forehead and looked at Gu Xiaonuan. “Just now, what happened to me?”

Sounds drifted over from the other side.

Gu Xiaonuan moved to the bedside, placing both hands over his ears. Lu Yichen lifted his head, “Xiao Nuan?”

Bang!

Lu Yichen was stunned, and the ensuing sounds made his face quickly flush red.

He reached out to remove her hands, sitting there with a red face, saying, “Such loud noises, you can’t block them out.”

Gu Xiaonuan sighed, murmured an acknowledgment, and sat at the edge of the bed.

The commotion from the other side grew louder, as if they didn’t care that there were others in the suite. Gu Xiaonuan inhaled the scent of blood that was spreading in the air, looking as though she was long used to it.

“I remember the first time I met Ji Xiangnan, he was like this… drinking blood.” Lu Yichen’s face was red. “I remember you said Vampires like to drink blood this way.”

Gu Xiaonuan absentmindedly replied, getting ready to let Lu Yichen rest-it was already late at night.

A warm body leaned in close, forcing her to fall back onto the bed, elbows propped up. Lu Yichen braced his arms on either side of her, and Gu Xiaonuan clearly saw even his ears were red.

“Do you like it?”

He spoke, the blush at his earlobes deepening.

Suddenly, a scream came from the other side-not from fear, but from joy.

“I don’t know, I’ve never done it.”

Gu Xiaonuan repeated what she had said the first time. That handsome, thoroughly flushed face drew near, his heart beating wildly, as if it were about to burst from his chest.

“Want to try?”

Gu Xiaonuan was taken aback. She listened to his thundering heartbeat and the ever-faster flow of his blood. His bright red earlobes were a silent invitation.

Why not? He was hers, wasn’t he?

Gu Xiaonuan reached for his neck, pulling him down onto her, telling him her decision with action.

In the depths of Lu Yichen’s dark eyes, a moist shimmer seemed to surge. His breath was ragged, and he supported her lower back with his hand-

Drip.

Blood trickled from his nostrils and landed on Gu Xiaonuan’s face.

Whoosh!

The man quickly withdrew, holding his nose, his entire face red and even a bit flustered as he sat there.

Gu Xiaonuan reached out and touched her own face. Did he just get a nosebleed?

“Sorry…” Lu Yichen stood up awkwardly and rushed into the bathroom. Gu Xiaonuan looked down at her still-intact clothes-his blood flow had just been speeding up and up. Was he too excited?

In the bathroom, Lu Yichen looked at his blushing face in the mirror and gently wiped away the blood from his nose.

His body was already so aroused it drove him nearly mad. Night after night, he had fantasized countless times about possessing her.

But-

“It’s still not the right time.”
