Feed Me, Husband - chapter 7
Chapter 7
Gu Xiaonuan arranged for Lu Yichen to be transferred to another hospital as quickly as possible.
Once everything was in place, Gu Xiaonuan didn’t stay by his side any longer. The Blood Clan had its own rules: except in Blood Clan-related hospitals, no hunting was allowed in other human hospitals.
There were some disobedient members of the Blood Clan, but they were quickly dealt with.
To survive in this city, whether human or another race, everyone had to follow their own rules.
Although Gu Xiaonuan was not very sociable, she understood what those rules were.
She could safely leave Lu Yichen there on his own. During the days she accompanied him, much of her work had piled up.
After three busy days, Gu Xiaonuan finally found time to check her phone when she got home.
There were four or five voice messages from Lu Yichen. Gu Xiaonuan sat on the sofa and played them.
“Miss Gu, are you still busy with work?”
“Miss Gu, are you busy?”
“Miss Gu…”
Hearing the last, almost whispered call, Gu Xiaonuan’s throat suddenly felt parched, as if lured by his voice. The possibility of food struck her brain with instinctive force.
Hungry, so hungry, she wanted to eat, even if just a mouthful.
Her craving for food had become so intense after three days.
“Open your window and wait for me.”
That night, the lights in the hospital’s inpatient ward had not all gone out. Gu Xiaonuan, wearing light clothing, quickly slipped into the stairwell.
When she reached Lu Yichen’s floor, it was already silent. The ward doors were locked.
In the dim corridor, Gu Xiaonuan’s eyes gradually turned blood-red. She walked to the stairwell window, and with a leap, jumped out.
Like a light breeze, her figure swept past one window after another, her toes barely touching the window ledges, until she saw the open window.
Gu Xiaonuan stepped onto the window frame and leapt inside, closing the window behind her.
There was no sign of Lu Yichen on the hospital bed. Urgent sounds came from the bathroom, and the door was suddenly pushed open.
“You’re here.”
He looked at her like a lover who had been waiting a long time. Gu Xiaonuan paused for a moment, glanced at his pants which he hadn’t yet pulled up, and averted her gaze.
“Ah, sorry.”
Lu Yichen’s face turned slightly red. He quickly pulled up his pants, and just as he was about to fasten his loose collar, a cold hand was already on him.
Gu Xiaonuan’s icy fingers pressed against the skin of his neck, her blood-red eyes fixed on the pulsing vein beneath his skin.
Her red lips parted, revealing sharp fangs.
The flush on Lu Yichen’s face deepened. He leaned his whole body against the wall, feeling Gu Xiaonuan’s cold breath draw near.
Her fangs brought a faint pain as they pierced his skin.
The audible swallow betrayed her craving for his blood.
Lu Yichen lowered his gaze, his eyes misty. He didn’t mind using his own body to bind her to him.
“Miss Gu…”
The trembling voice sounded by Gu Xiaonuan’s ear. She lifted her face, looked at the flush on his cheeks, and was about to say something when the man’s slender body seemed to lose all strength and slid toward the ground.
“Lu Yichen!”
Gu Xiaonuan quickly reached out to support him. Though she was hungry, she had only taken a few sips; there was no way he could be this anemic.
Lu Yichen, his face flushed red, sat on the floor panting. Gu Xiaonuan could only reach out and, once again, lift him up in her arms.
To princess-carry a man again and again-this was really enough.
The man in her arms lay down on the bed. Just as Gu Xiaonuan was about to pull away, his hand grabbed her arm.
“Miss Gu, will you go and bite someone else again?”
Gu Xiaonuan was stunned once more. She looked at the blush on his cheeks, his body still breathing heavily, and for a moment, she didn’t know what to say.
“I will try my best to recover, to make myself healthy.” The fingers gripping her arm tightened slightly, and those misty eyes gazed deep into Gu Xiaonuan’s own.
“Other than me, don’t go biting anyone else, okay?”
Gu Xiaonuan glanced at the bite mark she had just left on his neck, wanting to pull her arm away, but the man’s fingers curled around her.
“You came to me because you crave me too, don’t you?”
His trembling voice, those eyes on the verge of tears-Gu Xiaonuan was momentarily dazed. She had never been this close to a human before.
After all, for twenty years, she had only dared to cling to blood bags.
Are all humans like him? With such a devout posture, willingly exposing their necks, inviting her fangs to linger there forever.
Twenty years ago, she had fled in panic.
Twenty years later, he appeared before her, offering himself without allowing any refusal.
The man’s low murmur was like the serpent’s temptation in the Garden of Eden, luring Adam and Eve to pluck that fruit and taste its incomparable sweetness.
A flush of blood surged in Gu Xiaonuan’s eyes. Her cold fingers slid into his soft hair.
Her lips fell onto his warm, thin lips.
With a whimper, the man clasped the back of her head, arching his body to press his lips even deeper against hers.
His soft lips were pierced by her fangs, and the scent of blood filled their mouths.
Gu Xiaonuan, gasping for breath, tried to pull away, but the hand at the back of her head held her down again.
“…Enough! Stop!”
She shouted in a low, slightly frantic voice, reaching out to grab his other wrist. “Do you want me to break your other hand too?”
Lu Yichen’s eyes were hazy, his thin lips murmuring against hers, “Sure, go ahead.”
“You…!”
Gu Xiaonuan’s eyes widened, and she instantly pulled back.
In the darkness, Lu Yichen slowly leaned against the hospital bed. His cheeks were flushed, his black eyes misty, hair messily scattered by his face.
There was blood left on his thin lips, and his pink tongue flicked out to gently lick it clean.
On the skin at his collar, fresh red bite marks stood out, his beautiful collarbones and the faintly raised muscles beneath seeming to issue a silent invitation.
Crash!
The window was suddenly thrown open, and Gu Xiaonuan fled.
This was perhaps the most humiliating moment in her decades as a Vampire-fleeing in panic before a human.
Watching her leap out the window, Lu Yichen slowly curved his lips into a smile.
His long, elegant fingers gently caressed the wound on his lips left by her fangs, rubbing it back and forth with lingering affection.
I won’t let you run away again. This time, don’t even think about it.
