Feed Me, Husband - chapter 9
Chapter 9
Lu Yichen sat in the car and gave a hotel address. Gu Xiaonuan didn’t ask any questions.
The man sitting in the back looked a little pale. Ever since he met Gu Xiaonuan, it seemed that only when his blood was being drawn did any color appear on his face.
Thinking of how hard she had bitten him just now, Gu Xiaonuan couldn’t help but sigh inwardly. It was her fault-she had overestimated herself.
“Get some rest for now. I’ll wake you when we arrive.”
Gu Xiaonuan started the car and heard a faint “mm” from the back, sounding very weak.
All the way, Gu Xiaonuan focused on driving. Lu Yichen, sitting in the back, seemed exhausted and had fallen asleep. His eyes were closed, and his long eyelashes were even more noticeable.
Lu Yichen, dozing in the back seat with his eyes closed, looked like a Cupid who had temporarily set aside his bow and arrow. Even in sleep, it was as if light flowed over him.
Gu Xiaonuan watched the ever-changing scenery and traffic outside the window. He was a human living in a world of light, yet now he was bound together with her, a member of the Vampire Clan who survived in the night.
Gu Xiaonuan couldn’t help but grip the steering wheel tightly. A sigh echoed inside the car.
After arriving at the hotel, a bellboy came forward to open the door. Lu Yichen, sitting in the back, was waking up.
Seeing how exhausted he looked, Gu Xiaonuan helped him sit in the hotel lobby and checked him in.
The man’s tall figure leaned against the sofa in the lobby, seemingly about to doze off again.
“Lu Yichen, wake up.”
Gu Xiaonuan gently patted his cheek. The man sitting there opened his eyes in a daze. Seeing it was Gu Xiaonuan, he smiled, “Miss Gu…”
“I’ll help you upstairs to rest. Come on.”
Gu Xiaonuan reached out. Though she looked petite, she easily lifted Lu Yichen from the sofa, startling the staff who wanted to come over and help.
Lu Yichen, who was a head taller than Gu Xiaonuan, leaned completely on her, yet Gu Xiaonuan still walked briskly.
Entering the elevator, she pressed the floor button. Lu Yichen leaned drowsily against her, looking barely conscious.
“I took some painkillers. They made me a bit sleepy.”
His muffled voice came from where he rested on her shoulder. Gu Xiaonuan responded, “We’ll be there soon. You can rest well in a moment.”
The elevator doors opened to a long, carpeted corridor. The lighting wasn’t very bright; only the wall sconces at intervals were lit.
It was bright outside, but this corridor felt like night had fallen.
The thick carpet muffled their footsteps. Other than them, no other guests appeared.
Gu Xiaonuan looked at the room numbers, searching for Lu Yichen’s room.
Creak.
A very light footstep sounded ahead.
Gu Xiaonuan’s hand moved behind to block the man’s slender waist.
At the end of the corridor, a figure slowly emerged.
Gu Xiaonuan narrowed her eyes slightly. With just one glance, she could confirm their identity.
A Fellow Kin!
Snap!
Her hand moved forcefully from behind, pulling the man at her side into her embrace.
With a rush of dark wind, the figure at the end of the corridor swept over Lu Yichen’s head, landing with a dull thud on the wall, then spun around and lunged back!
Crack!
The figure seemed to fly up, fangs bared!
In an instant, Gu Xiaonuan shielded the man in her arms, bent low, and kicked upward with force!
Bang!
The dark figure was kicked directly, sent flying to the end of the corridor!
Without hesitation, one arm slipped under his knees, the other wrapped around his waist, and she lifted him up in a princess carry!
“Lu Yichen, don’t sleep yet, wake up!”
Gu Xiaonuan moved swiftly, her steps flying, while the man in her arms remained drowsy. The figure who had been kicked to the end of the corridor quickly scrambled up and rushed over!
Bang!
Gu Xiaonuan kicked open the door to the stairwell, her arms tightening as she lifted the man’s body higher.
“Hold on to me, do you hear?”
She ran downstairs, glancing at the height outside the window. Blood began to spread in Gu Xiaonuan’s eyes-thirty-five floors up was far too high for her, especially while carrying a human!
Beautiful dark eyes opened, and as if by instinct, he raised his arms and clung tightly to her neck.
Hearing the sounds of pursuit behind them, the blood in Gu Xiaonuan’s eyes deepened. They had just left the hospital, and already Fellow Kin were coming after her.
Damn it!
She’d been in trouble before, but back then she only drank from blood bags, never using her fangs. But now things were different-word had spread that she was carrying food, and she had a weakness.
Her blood-red eyes looked at the drowsy Lu Yichen in her arms. Because of her, Lu Yichen would become a target for many in the Blood Clan.
He would be maliciously toyed with, bitten and drained, maybe even worse.
For a human like him, he should never have stepped into this world.
Bang, bang, bang!
The pursuing Blood Clan members were getting closer. Gu Xiaonuan glanced at the height outside, tightened her grip on Lu Yichen.
Crash!
She kicked a pane of glass flying, and the wind rushed in from outside.
“Don’t be afraid, I’ll protect you.”
Gu Xiaonuan murmured softly, and heard a low “mm” from the man in her arms. Without hesitation, she leapt out the window!
The wind howled, whipping the woman’s long black hair into a frenzy.
Her messy hair tangled with the short hair of the man in her arms, covering both their faces.
Lu Yichen opened his dark eyes slightly, and saw those eyes, as if blood was surging within them.
Her sharp fangs were exposed, red lips curling up slightly. “Hold tight, don’t let go.”
The wind roared past his ears. Lu Yichen narrowed his eyes, tightened his arms, and hugged her fiercely. As he watched the scenery plummet past, he actually smiled.
Whoosh-!
Gu Xiaonuan, holding Lu Yichen, plummeted rapidly from the twentieth floor of the hotel!
“Whoa! Someone just fell?!”
A hotel guest who saw it immediately ran to the window, but saw nothing. “Was I seeing things?”
Bang!
A woman landed from the sky, standing steadily on the ground, still holding a man in her arms.
It was the hotel’s back garbage yard. Gu Xiaonuan looked up-her Fellow Kin hadn’t caught up.
Her fangs slowly retracted. As expected, it was all just malicious teasing.
Gu Xiaonuan strode forward, still carrying Lu Yichen, and leapt over the closed wire gate of the garbage yard.
She couldn’t let him out of her sight.
“…Where are you taking me?”
Lu Yichen mumbled, his breath brushing softly against Gu Xiaonuan’s ear.
The woman carrying him paused, then continued walking quickly, speaking in a low voice, “To my place.”
