Chapter 3

After dealing with the potential danger, the two Bee Tribe Beastmen began scanning my physical condition with their Psychic Power.

Soon, their expressions shifted to guilt and self-reproach.

I asked innocently, “Is something wrong?”

Adair took a deep breath, looking at me as if I were a fragile treasure. “You… were born with a weak constitution.”

I had already guessed as much. If I hadn’t arrived, this egg likely would never have had the chance to hatch.

“A Queen Bee usually skips the juvenile stage and enters the growth phase immediately after hatching,” Miller said, stroking my head affectionately. “Yet you still look like a cub.”

Beastfolk in their growth phase usually appear in human form; only cubs struggle to control their energy, revealing their original forms.

“However, please do not worry. Our kin are on their way, and the Divine Tree in the Hive will protect you as you grow.”

I thought for a moment, tilting my head. “Will there be delicious Nectar in the Hive?”

“Of course.” Miller’s lips curled into a smile, the tenderness in his eyes almost overflowing. “The honey brewed by our Ice Demon Bees is the sweetest.”

“Nonsense! We Fire Poison Bees are clearly the master brewers!” Adair couldn’t help but retort.

Su Rou and Lin Jun, still restrained nearby: “…” They couldn’t bear to watch.

This desolate planet was far too remote. It had no spaceports, no passing interstellar ships, and was not even within the territory of the Alliance.

I sensed my clansmen approaching.

They were like points of light, some large and some small, flickering constantly within the domain of my mind.

I tried to nudge the nearest point of light.

Suddenly, Miller, who was holding me, stiffened. A flush crept up his fair face.

His throat bobbed as he struggled for restraint. “Your Majesty, now is not the time. You… can do whatever you want later.”

Me: “Huh?”

Something felt a bit off.

While I was still dazed, the ground thudded. A black sphere dropped from the clouds, transforming into a standing mecha. A tall figure stepped out from within.

Amidst the wind and sand, he approached me. A heavy iron hammer rested on his broad shoulders, and the smooth lines of his muscles were visible beneath a black tank top.

Su Rou’s expression grew excited. “Teacher Zhu Xian! Are you here to save me?!”

Could this be one of the female lead’s love interests? He looked like a formidable opponent.

I shrank back in fear and asked, “Can you two beat him?”

“There’s no need to fight,” Adair replied with a strange expression, his eyes tinged with slight hostility.

The strange male had already reached me.

Ignoring Su Rou, he knelt on one knee. His deep voice was somewhat cold: “Your Majesty.”

Without waiting for my response, he picked up his hammer, found an empty patch of ground, and began clanging away.

I hadn’t even clearly seen this new clansman’s face yet.

“Does he not like me?” I rubbed my head, bewildered.

“You underestimate your own charm,” Miller explained. “Earth-Building Bees all have this dull personality-bland and boring, unlike us Ice Demon Bees.”

Me: …

The way he put down the other to lift himself up was a bit too obvious.

Soon, the clanging stopped. Zhu Xian approached me, holding an exquisite and comfortable gemstone nest.

“Your Majesty, this is your bed. The body temperature of Ice Demon Bees is too low; it is not conducive to your growth.”

Sweat trickled down his tanned skin, and the tips of his ears were bright red.

My gaze was practically glued to the gemstone nest. Unable to suppress my instincts, I buzzed my way inside.

Seeing my reaction, the youth’s cold, sharp features softened, and his eyes shone with irrepressible joy.

Watching all this, Su Rou was utterly dejected, while Lin Jun beside her was speechless.

“If I remember correctly, the S-class mecha builder from the Imperial Military Academy is named Zhu Xian, right?”

People lined up just to beg for his work. Coming all this way just to make a nest… wasn’t that a bit ridiculous?

In the vast, boundless universe, at the center of a planet shaped into a Hive, the withered branches of a giant tree shook off some leaves.

After a brief moment of dizziness, I stepped out of the spatial rift Miller had torn open, only to hear familiar calls.

I wanted to fly over, but the taciturn Zhu Xian stopped me.

His face was wary. “There are traces of Insectoids in the Hive.”

As Zhu Xian spoke, Insectoids with green scythes swarmed out from beneath the Hive.

Greedy, murderous sonic waves attacked my mental sea, only to be bounced back by an invisible golden barrier.

Wherever the Insectoids went, not a blade of grass remained. They would devour the planetary core and everything with life force.

These invaders were the public enemy of all Beastfolk!

Seeing their home being raided, Adair’s red hair flared. He transformed into his massive Fire Poison Bee form and charged into the fray.

Beside me, Miller looked up, his tattered wings fluttering. “Vile Earth-Building Bee, you stay behind and protect Your Majesty.”

The youth nodded, piling every protective shield he had onto the vine nest.

I poked my head out, staring blankly at the center of the Hive.

The red and blue colors were nearly swallowed by the overwhelming swarm of Insectoids.

“The Divine Tree told me… it hurts.”

It was as if I could feel the gnawing pain myself. My blood began to boil.

Suddenly, a second node in my mental domain lit up.

Within the vast web woven by my Psychic Power, countless ominous red dots were snuffed out.

Looking at those hideous creatures, I softly uttered a single word:

“Die.”

*Bang!* Blood mist exploded violently, leaving a floor covered in crystal cores.

Before I could leave any instructions, my vision went black, and I fainted.

Only the sound of anxious, frantic calling remained in my ears.
