Chapter 29

The System informed Sheng Ai.

Other than its own existence and matters regarding the Spiritual Root, nothing else was off-limits.

She could say whatever she wanted about everything else.

After all, The Omniverse Travel Agency needed tourists and didn’t require confidentiality agreements-news would get out anyway.

Sheng Ai now had a clear idea of what she could do.

Those vehicles were actually disguised very well, indistinguishable from any passing cars.

But with the System, their true identities were revealed to her immediately.

They were people sent by the authorities.

After a while, a pretty young woman who looked like a recent graduate walked in.

She had a gentle and attractive face that gave a good first impression.

She wore a simple sleeveless dress and carried a small single-chain purse.

She really did look like someone about to go on a trip.

Although Sheng Ai kept her door open, there was no sign hanging outside. Logically, unless someone had been here before, no one would know this was a Travel Agency.

When the young woman approached, her voice was gentle, with a fresh and sweet quality like a mountain spring: “Hello, is this The Omniverse Travel Agency?”

Sheng Ai nodded. “Yes.”

The young woman smiled brightly. “Hello, my name is Xu Zhi. My friend Yang Zhiyu is a tourist who traveled with you. She recommended me to come here.”

Sheng Ai gave her a meaningful look, guessing that Yang Zhiyu had definitely been contacted by the State.

After all, several tourists had asked multiple times about the next trip, and all had received negative answers.

Without Sheng Ai’s notification, it would be impossible for someone to recommend a new person directly, especially since it might annoy the guide.

“Didn’t Yang Zhiyu tell you that I don’t know where the next trip will be or how to purchase tickets?”

Xu Zhi’s smile didn’t falter. She replied calmly, “I know, but I was curious, so I came over first. I saw the online shop selling Stinky Fruit-you know, no one can resist something like that. Are you Sheng Ai, the Chief Guide of the Travel Agency?”

“I am.” Sheng Ai paused, then decided to be straightforward: “You don’t need to ask me about the next trip’s location. I am indeed the person in charge of the tours, essentially the intermediary that Omniverse Corporation found on Blue Star. As for any other information, I don’t know either. I have to wait for Omniverse Corporation’s notification. I’m just a contract worker for them.”

Xu Zhi paused.

She was a smart person and immediately understood Sheng Ai’s meaning from her words.

Xu Zhi’s smile deepened, and she brushed her hair behind her ear with her fingertips. “Do you know who I am?”

Sheng Ai chose to be honest: “I was notified when you arrived. I don’t know your real identity, but I know you were sent by the authorities.”

Xu Zhi was silent for a few seconds.

Then she said, “May I come in and talk?”

Sheng Ai nodded. “Of course.”

She invited Xu Zhi in, had her sit on the sofa, and poured her a cup of tea.

Xu Zhi didn’t intend to drink it, but she held it politely in her hands.

After sitting down, seeing that Sheng Ai already knew where she was from, Xu Zhi spoke directly.

“The laboratory at Hu City University tested the soil and plant samples brought back by the tourists and discovered substances not belonging to Blue Star. These specimens were urgently sent to the research center in Jingcheng at noon and yielded the same results. We also found substances not from Blue Star on the purchased Stinky Fruit.”

Xu Zhi said slowly, “Miss Sheng, this is something that could turn the entire world upside down.”

But Sheng Ai remained calm.

Sheng Ai said, “I understand. Three days ago-no, the day before yesterday by Blue Star’s time-when I first made contact with Omniverse Corporation, I felt the same way. But I could only choose to accept it. In the face of this power from a higher dimension-or what we consider a higher-dimensional world-I have no choice.”
System: [That’s not something you’d say unless your Spiritual Root eyes have opened.]

Sheng Ai: [Nonsense, since you’re already here, how could I possibly refuse?]

Xu Zhi frowned slightly. “So, what you mean is, the Omniverse Corporation doesn’t mind you making things public?”

Otherwise, they wouldn’t be so high-profile, directly choosing the Stinky Fruit as a starting point to showcase power that doesn’t belong to Blue Star.

Sheng Ai nodded. “They need tourists, as you’ve seen-they had me recruit people online, and now there’s the Stinky Fruit… But I don’t know why they need tourists.”

Xu Zhi seemed thoughtful.

The higher-ups reacted quickly. Blue Star’s technological power was like a newborn baby compared to the other side.

They decided almost immediately to first probe Sheng Ai.

Rather than offend her.

Sheng Ai was unexpectedly straightforward.

Since tourists were needed, it meant Blue Star was also qualified to be targeted by the other side.

And the returns offered by the Omniverse Corporation were actually quite generous, even charitable.

Because their technology was simply on another level.

The items brought back by the tourists would be enough to trigger earth-shattering changes on Blue Star in the days to come.

And the starting point of this transformation was Huaxia.

Not the whole world, but Huaxia alone.

Because the Stinky Fruit was only being sold nationwide, not yet available abroad.

The true intermediary was even a Huaxia native.

Whether to seize the opportunity or proceed with more cautious probing, even Xu Zhi quickly made up his mind.

He said, “Will there be a notification before the next journey begins?”

Sheng Ai nodded.

Xu Zhi said politely, “Miss Sheng, may I ask, how did the Omniverse Corporation contact you? You were just dismissed from your company the day before yesterday, correct?”

Sheng Ai extended her wrist. “I used to have a Buddha Bead Bracelet my mom bought for me, but it wasn’t anything valuable. The day before yesterday, the bracelet disappeared and turned into these tattoo-like marks. This is the mark I use to communicate with the Omniverse Corporation.”

Xu Zhi was surprised. “Your mother?”

According to Sheng Ai’s file, her parents disappeared five years ago.

And Sheng Ai and her parents were just unremarkable people from Huaxia. From the records, their lives had never been particularly eventful-just ordinary people through and through.

But now Xu Zhi felt things were not so simple.

Thinking of her mother, Sheng Ai sighed. “I know you suspect my mother. I’ve wondered if she was some mysterious figure too. But perhaps, in your understanding, my mother really was just an ordinary woman. My parents disappeared five years ago, and I still have no answers.”

“Just disappeared, with no official notice of death, right?”

Sheng Ai pressed her lips together. “Yes, but it’s been five years. I’ve long since lost hope.”

Especially since the System had clearly told her she couldn’t see her parents now.

Xu Zhi carefully studied Sheng Ai’s expression and had already gleaned some answers.

Xu Zhi nodded. “Miss Sheng, just let things take their course from here. We won’t interfere.”

Sheng Ai was a bit surprised. “I thought you’d want to book tickets in advance.”

After all, with the power of a State institution, controlling all the travel tickets would be all too easy.

Xu Zhi shook his head. “The Omniverse Corporation has made such a public announcement-I don’t think they want pre-arranged tourists.”

The System suddenly chuckled: [Very clever. If they insisted on interfering, the Ticket System wouldn’t let them get their way.]

Sheng Ai felt her whole body relax.

She had actually been quite nervous about dealing with State institutions.

But now that Xu Zhi had clearly said they wouldn’t interfere, she felt at ease.

This meant she could just go with the flow and do her own thing.
