The moonlight flowed quietly, like water.

As night deepened, that familiar burning sensation awakened as expected, silently stirring within Bai Yue.

She had just furrowed her brows when Mu Chenxi, lying beside her, immediately noticed.

This had happened every night these past days; she had long since memorized this moment.

Ignoring her own unhealed injuries, Mu Chenxi instantly channeled her Spiritual Power, sending a stream of pure Icy Energy gently into Bai Yue’s body, dispelling the scorching Fire Poison within her.

The activation of Spiritual Power inevitably tugged at her still-unhealed wounds, sending waves of tearing pain through her meridians. But Mu Chenxi paid it no mind; this pain was insignificant compared to her Master’s safety, and she completely ignored it.

“Chenxi, are you really alright?”

Bai Yue asked worriedly, clearly sensing a faint, almost imperceptible disturbance in her Disciple’s aura.

“It’s alright, Master.”

Feeling her Master’s caring gaze-like the warmest spring sun-eased her pain, filling Mu Chenxi’s heart with warmth.

So focused was she on healing Bai Yue that she didn’t even notice her Sword Dao cultivation quietly advancing, becoming ever more refined.

When the last trace of Fire Poison was dispelled, a wave of exhaustion finally swept over her like a tide. Mu Chenxi held tightly to her Master’s hand and fell into a deep sleep.

Bai Yue turned to the side, gazing at her Disciple’s peaceful sleeping face in the hazy moonlight streaming through the window.

Her pale, delicate face bore unmistakable fatigue, making Bai Yue’s heart ache.

She lifted her other hand, fingertips gently caressing Mu Chenxi’s pale cheek.

Bai Yue’s gaze was gentle, her movements tender.

This Disciple of hers was truly too good to her.

Enduring hardship, dispelling Fire Poison for her night after night.

Now, even while gravely injured, she still put Bai Yue’s safety above all else.

“I wish I could have such a Dao Companion relationship with Master…”

Mu Chenxi’s words, filled with longing, echoed uncontrollably in Bai Yue’s mind once more.

Thump, thump…

Bai Yue felt her heartbeat go awry, like a startled deer, leaving her flustered.

She withdrew her hand as if shocked, pressing tightly against her heaving chest, her cheeks burning hot.

I can’t keep thinking nonsense… I should rest…

After several deep breaths, she barely managed to calm her restless heart and slowly closed her eyes.

Listening to her Disciple’s steady, gentle breathing, she gradually drifted into sleep.

The next morning, the first rays of dawn filtered through the window lattice, dappling the wooden cabin.

Mu Chenxi’s long lashes trembled slightly as she slowly opened her eyes.

She instinctively reached out beside her, but found only a cold, empty void.

Bai Yue was nowhere to be seen.

A wave of panic swept over her, leaving her mind blank.

“Master!?”

In a panic, Mu Chenxi struggled to rise.

Anxious, she transformed directly into a streak of light, bursting through the wooden door and rushing out of the cabin.

Her unhealed body throbbed with sharp pain, but she paid it no heed.

Fortunately, she soon spotted the figure she’d been so worried about by the gently flowing stream not far away.

Bai Yue stood gracefully in the crystal-clear water, the hem of her gray Daoist Robe tied at her waist. Her long, slender jade legs shimmered in the rippling water, dazzling to the eye.

She was slightly bent over, seemingly trying to catch something, her full, curvaceous figure making her simple robe bulge, swaying gently with her movements.

Her ample curves seemed ready to burst through the old patches on her Daoist Robe at any moment.
Mu Chenxi gazed at the morning light, somewhat entranced, and only after a long while did she return to herself.

So Master was catching fish.

That Spirit Fish, a crimson carp, looked ordinary at first glance, but in this place rich with Spiritual Qi, who knew how many years it had grown?

The fish had already gained sentience, making it slippery and hard to catch.

No matter how hard Bai Yue, who was at the Foundation Establishment Stage, tried, she couldn’t even touch it. Anxious, fine beads of sweat appeared on her smooth forehead.

Having found Master, Mu Chenxi’s anxious heart finally settled.

She slowed her steps and walked over quietly.

Bai Yue soon noticed her. Seeing Mu Chenxi approach, she hurriedly waded ashore and quickly went to support her.

“Chenxi, you’re still injured. Why did you come out? You should be resting!” Bai Yue scolded gently.

“Master, I woke up and found you gone, so I got worried and came out to look for you,” Mu Chenxi explained softly. “My injuries have healed a lot, and I can use my Spiritual Power again.”

As she spoke, she raised her hand, forming a Sword Finger, and pointed at the red Spirit Fish leisurely swimming in the stream.

A condensed, tangible Sword Aura shot through the air, silently entering the water.

The Spirit Fish that had just left Bai Yue helpless suddenly stiffened, its head instantly pierced through, and it floated belly-up to the surface.

“You really have recovered a lot. That’s wonderful,” Bai Yue said, seeing her full of energy and spirit, unable to hide her joy.

Relieved, Bai Yue hurried into the stream to scoop up the big fish.

“Master, are you going to eat this?”

“Yes, I’m going to cook it for you, to help you recover,” Bai Yue said, holding up the fish, her smile radiant in the morning sun.

Mu Chenxi wanted to tell Master that a Spirit Fish of this grade wouldn’t do much for her current cultivation.

But seeing the sparkling sweat on Bai Yue’s forehead and that smile, warmer and brighter than the sunrise, for some reason she couldn’t bring herself to say it.

“Thank you, Master. I really want to eat the fish you make,” Mu Chenxi said, having learned how to please her Master after these days together, her once cold and reserved demeanor now softened. “Last time, the stir-fried candied beans were delicious. Master, your cooking is truly wonderful!”

Hearing this, Bai Yue’s eyes curved with delight, her happiness overflowing.

She began enthusiastically preparing to handle the catch.

“Master, let me do it.”

“Are you sure? Don’t strain your injuries.”

“Don’t worry, I won’t.”

Seeing Mu Chenxi insist, Bai Yue placed the fish on a smooth, flat stone by the stream.

Mu Chenxi maintained her Sword Finger gesture, pointing lightly at the fish, which floated gently into the air.

Countless Sword Aura, fine as hairs, burst from her fingertips, swarming over the fish like a living hive, moving so fast their paths were almost invisible.

In an instant, the scales and innards were cleanly removed, the discarded bits plopping into the water.

With another flash of sword light, the plump fish was sliced into thin, translucent pieces, each one perfectly even.

The fish slices were neatly arranged on the stone slab, gleaming temptingly in the morning light.

Bai Yue stared in astonishment once again.

Such exquisite Sword Aura.

It seemed that Mu Chenxi, now at the Nascent Soul Stage, had reached a truly terrifying mastery of Sword Dao.

But…

Wasn’t it a bit of a waste to use such swordsmanship just to slice fish?

Suppressing her amazement, she lit a campfire by the mountain stream and set a small pot over the flames.
