“So it turns out this wasn’t a fortuitous opportunity at all, but rather the Remnant Soul of an old monster at the Asking the Way Stage. No wonder we had to self-destruct back then…” Bai Yue couldn’t help but give a bitter smile.

“Master, it’s not that there’s no opportunity,” Mu Chenxi held a different view.

“What did you discover?” Bai Yue asked in confusion.

“Su Qiuyue also cultivates the Supreme Emotionless Sword Art,” Mu Chenxi explained.

“I can sense that, although the consciousness lingering in her Remnant Soul is filled with anger and resentment, at its core, it’s still the Supreme Emotionless Sword Art.”

“Moreover, she was once a powerful cultivator at the Asking the Way Realm. There must be a way hidden within her Remnant Soul that can help me increase my strength.”

Upon hearing this, Bai Yue suddenly understood.

“But the problem is, even if only the Remnant Soul remains, she’s still at the Asking the Way Stage. A starved camel is still bigger than a horse. Chenxi, you can’t handle her. How can you obtain her Secret Method and Cultivation Method?”

“Master, I’ve thought of a way.”

“What way?”

“That is to rely on Yan Hua. Last time, I was pulled into Yan Hua’s Sea of Consciousness, and after returning to reality, my Spirit Soul became more refined. I can continue to try contacting Yan Hua’s Sea of Consciousness to strengthen my Spirit Soul.”

“You actually entered Yan Hua’s Sea of Consciousness?” Bai Yue asked.

“Yes.” Mu Chenxi explained with an apologetic look, “Master, I hid something from you before. There were scenes in Yan Hua’s Sea of Consciousness that were too bloody. I was afraid you’d be disturbed if you saw them…”

Bai Yue had always been concerned about Yan Hua. This disciple she once thought was obedient was hiding secrets, and she wanted to know more.

So she gently said, “Can you show me?”

Mu Chenxi sighed, placed her hand on Bai Yue’s forehead, and revealed the scenes she had witnessed in Yan Hua’s Sea of Consciousness one by one.

After watching, Bai Yue was so shocked she couldn’t speak. After a long while, she murmured, “Yan Hua…”

“Master, are you alright?” Mu Chenxi looked at her worriedly.

“I’m fine. I just didn’t expect… I never truly understood Yan Hua, nor did I imagine she had gone through such terrifying things.” Bai Yue’s face was full of concern.

“Don’t worry, Master. Yan Hua is fine now. Not only has she awakened, she can even protect us. She’ll be alright in the future, too.” Mu Chenxi comforted her softly.

Bai Yue nodded.

By now, it was close to Midnight, and she suddenly felt a burning heat throughout her body.

Mu Chenxi immediately noticed, grasped Bai Yue’s hand, interlocking their fingers, and channeled her pure Frost Spiritual Power into Bai Yue’s meridians to help dispel the heat within her.

At this point, their strategy had been discussed, and the two returned to the Cave Abode to rest.

After laying out the blankets, the two slept together with their fingers intertwined. Mu Chenxi helped Bai Yue gradually relieve her heat, and then she fell into a deep sleep first.

In the past, she would cultivate until dawn at this hour, then travel with Bai Yue. Now, sleeping so deeply, it was clear she was truly exhausted.

Feeling distressed, Bai Yue reached out to tidy the slightly messy blue hair on Mu Chenxi’s forehead, sighing inwardly, “My Disciple is truly worn out.”

The next day at noon, Mu Chenxi finally woke up. As soon as she opened her eyes, she said in frustration, “I actually slept until noon? How could I sleep so long and waste so much time…”

“It’s alright, Chenxi,” Bai Yue comforted her gently. “You can’t keep yourself wound so tight. Last time, it was because you were too tense that things went wrong. Proper rest is necessary, so don’t blame yourself anymore.”

“Mm, alright, Master.”

Mu Chenxi nodded, finally letting go of her self-blame.

Afterwards, she led Bai Yue toward the direction where Bai Yue had originally lived.

When night fell again, the two stopped to rest in a bamboo forest in the mountains.

Mu Chenxi leaned against Bai Yue’s embrace, once again sinking her consciousness into the ‘future.’
This beginning was no different from before; Mu Chenxi still quietly waited for Yan Hua to awaken from the coffin.

Soon after, Yan Hua arrived at the scene where Master Bai Yue had been killed.

Mu Chenxi explained the whole story to Yan Hua, earnestly requesting her help.

Yan Hua naturally did not refuse. She immediately opened up her Sea of Consciousness, allowing Mu Chenxi’s Spiritual Sense to enter.

Although it was not the first time entering Yan Hua’s Sea of Consciousness, Mu Chenxi still could not help but feel a chill in her heart.

All around were severed limbs, and the air was so thick with the scent of blood that it seemed as if it could be drawn into her lungs.

In truth, Yan Hua’s Spiritual Sense was not particularly strong, yet it carried a strange tenacity.

Mu Chenxi felt that even Su Qiuyue, at the peak of her Asking the Way Realm years ago, would not have been able to seize Yan Hua’s soul.

However, Su Qiuyue’s target had always been her, likely because of her talent in Sword Dao.

Mu Chenxi pondered silently, then looked up at Yan Hua’s true form in the Sea of Consciousness, confronting her in the void, and asked, “Yan Hua, tell me, how did your Spiritual Sense become stronger?”

“I don’t know any method for strengthening Spiritual Sense.”

Yan Hua tilted her head, her face full of confusion.

She had thought that simply letting Mu Chenxi’s Spiritual Sense enter her Sea of Consciousness would be enough, and had never considered that the other would ask such a question.

Even the act of Mu Chenxi entering her Sea of Consciousness felt novel to her; how could she possibly know any way to become stronger?

Seeing Yan Hua’s utterly clueless expression, Mu Chenxi knew she was telling the truth.

She took a deep breath, deciding to personally explore the mysteries of Yan Hua’s Sea of Consciousness.

Now that Yan Hua posed no threat to her, the risk was much less than before, though still present.

Mu Chenxi’s Spiritual Sense slowly drifted down into the bloody sea of the Sea of Consciousness, and at once, a sticky sensation clung to her fingertips.

It seemed she had disturbed the surrounding severed limbs, for in the next moment, a cold hand grabbed her ankle, startling her so much she looked down abruptly.

A scene unfolded before her eyes.

In the vision appeared a dignified woman, whose eyes bore fine lines but whose bearing was extraordinary.

Mu Chenxi recognized her-it was Liu Ruyan, Supreme Elder of the Dao Sect.

Liu Ruyan was slowly walking toward “her.”

Only then did Mu Chenxi realize that at this moment, “she” had taken on the form of a child, her small arms and legs restrained by some force, unable to move.

Liu Ruyan approached, grabbed her little hand, and forcibly tore it off!

The agony of flesh being ripped apart surged through her, and Mu Chenxi could not help but scream in pain, but the torment was far from over.

Liu Ruyan continued, tearing off her limbs in the same brutal manner.

Only then did Mu Chenxi understand that she had intruded into Yan Hua’s past memories, experiencing the situation as if she were truly there.

The real pain of having her limbs torn off tormented her.

Yet amid this suffering, she noticed her Spiritual Sense had subtly grown stronger.

After the vision faded, Mu Chenxi took a long moment to recover before looking again at the blood and flesh within the Sea of Consciousness.

Touching these remains allowed her to experience feelings similar to those Yan Hua had endured.

However, this pain was ultimately not even a tenth of what Yan Hua had truly suffered.

She looked again at Yan Hua’s true form in the Sea of Consciousness, her gaze complicated.

How had Yan Hua managed to survive such torment back then?

Staring at the mountain of severed limbs piled up in the Sea of Consciousness, Mu Chenxi felt her scalp tingle and her heart tremble.

She crouched down, carefully reaching out to touch a body whose internal organs had been hollowed out.

Another vision suddenly appeared-it was still Liu Ruyan, closing in step by step.
