Love-Struck Fox Spirit - Chapter 6

“Are you a Fox Spirit too?!”

Startled, I jumped back. Xiao Bai’s eyes clearly showed a hint of hurt as she lowered her gaze, making my heart ache with guilt.

But this was a matter of principle.

Xiao Bai sat on the floor, curling her tail around herself, looking extremely aggrieved.

I took a deep breath:

“Then could you try a little harder and go seduce him? This child hasn’t eaten for so long-I’m worried he’ll starve to death.”

Xiao Bai was taken aback, seeming puzzled by this:

“Fox Spirits… when they’re hungry, they’ll go find food. Doesn’t he?”

The last Fox Spirit told me the same thing, but no matter what I did-leaving the door wide open or tossing Jin Jiaxue outside-he never ran around.

When I was home, I’d open the door and wait for him to leave on his own.

But he acted as if he didn’t see it, grooming his tail as usual at home.

Halfway through grooming, he’d even come over, fluff up his big tail, and hold it out in front of me, smiling brightly:

“Touch it.”

As he spoke, he’d curl the tip of his tail, hooking it around my fingertip.

If I tossed him outside, he’d turn into a fox and curl up into a little ball at the door.

When the wind blew his fur off, he’d use his tail to sweep it up and gather it in the middle of his body.

Until I opened the door at night, he’d run in with a little mountain of fox fur, put it away in his little box, and then run over to me again, flipping over his now-dirty tail fur to show me.

All I could do was helplessly pick him up and toss him into the water for a bath.

During the bath, he’d even sneakily stuff his wet tail into my palm, pretending to be clever so I’d pet him.

Of course, I would… suck out all the brains of the little fox!

I listed all of Jin Jiaxue’s behaviors one by one. Xiao Bai listened, her brows furrowing deeper and deeper:

“It’s a Fox Spirit’s nature to seduce people when they’re hungry. If a Fox Spirit acts like this and still refuses to go out and hunt, that means…”

I was shocked, worrying for the child:

“Does that mean he’s not capable?”

Xiao Bai shook her head frantically:

“It means he’s going against his nature for the sake of his beloved, sister!”
