“Wake up, wake up, Hua Hua, your wife is home from work~ Wake up, wake up, your wife is home from work~”

The white clock hanging on the wooden wall pointed to eight in the morning, chiming noisily right on time.

Hua Suihe rolled over twice on the bed, her slender, fair legs draped over the quilt. She buried her face in the pillow and drifted back to sleep.

When she woke again, half an hour had passed. She sat up, her eyes dazed as she stared at the clock on the wall, then turned to look at the simple wooden door. There was no knock, no creak of the door opening.

Hua Suihe’s eyes cleared instantly-something was wrong!

It was time for her wife to come home from work, but she hadn’t returned!

Logically, as an NPC bound by programming, she should refresh at a specific location at a set time. Her wife worked the night shift every day and would come home at eight in the morning.

But today was different. It was already eight-thirty and she still wasn’t back. Could she be stuck in a bug?!

Hua Suihe climbed out of bed, tied her cherry blossom pink hair with a scrunchie, slipped on a pair of wooden slippers, and opened the door in her cartoon pajamas without even changing. The black and red dress in front of her blocked her way.

Hua Suihe looked up and saw a familiar face-a pair of red eyes staring at her.

Hua Suihe wasn’t frightened by her gaze. She reached up to straighten the red plastic flower on her head, smoothed out the wind-tousled white hair, and chided softly, “Why are you so late today?”

At the sight of Hua Suihe, Ye Susheng’s eyes curved into a smile, her red eyes growing even brighter and more lustrous. “Hua Hua, Hua Hua, I’m home~”

Ye Susheng cupped Hua Suihe’s face in both hands, her gaze lingering hungrily on her lips as she asked expectantly, “Can I kiss Hua Hua?”

Hua Suihe’s dark eyes blinked awkwardly. “I just woke up. Let me wash up first.”

But Ye Susheng leaned in anyway, her luscious red lips kissing Hua Suihe’s face again and again. Clearly, she was the one doing the kissing, yet her own cheeks flushed hot.

“Hua Hua, Hua Hua loves me so much…” Ye Susheng murmured, her tone lingering and tender.

Hua Suihe tilted her face up, letting her have her way, then placed her cool fingers on Ye Susheng’s pale neck, trying to suppress the heat there.

Her voice was soft and a little lazy as she asked, “Are you feeling uncomfortable again?”

Ye Susheng actually suffered from skin hunger. Was this really a setting an NPC should have? Who on earth wrote this code?

Ye Susheng whimpered without answering. Hua Suihe repeated her first question: “Why are you so late today?”

Ye Susheng, like a cat that had stolen a fish, ‘inadvertently’ brushed her lips, then buried her face in Hua Suihe’s shoulder, aggrieved. “There were too many people today, and they were really uncooperative, so I had to work overtime.”

Ye Susheng was the NPC who issued daily quests in the troupe role-play mode. Most players only played this game for the romance with the main character, so few people entered this mode. Why were there so many today?

Hua Suihe asked, “What did they do?”

“They tried to avoid taking the quests on purpose. So bad!”

Ye Susheng lifted her chin, smiling a little proudly. “But everyone has to take a quest. I gave them a really hard script to play.”

All the investment in this mini-game went into the main romance storyline. The scripts in the role-play mode were just a few recycled ones, all terrible and poorly written.

So Hua Suihe nodded absentmindedly. “Okay, give them the hardest script.”

The heat on Ye Susheng’s neck gradually subsided. She reluctantly let go. “I’ll go make breakfast for Hua Hua.”

Hua Suihe went outside the cabin to wash up as well.

They lived in a rather simple, cramped wooden cabin. There was no electricity; at night, they used luminous pearls for light, cooked with firewood, ate at a table set outside, and the bathroom was built next to the cabin-a makeshift addition after Hua Suihe arrived.

As a game NPC, Ye Susheng didn’t need any of these amenities. The cabin existed only as her daily refresh point.

Note, this isn’t a primitive survival game, but a modern urban romance game.
Before Hua Suihe was pulled into this game, she was a moderately successful streamer known for her gaming antics, with over a hundred thousand viewers tuning in to her live streams every day. She didn’t play this game to romance the CEOs, doctors, or artist protagonists, but rather to tease the NPCs.

She discovered that the quest-giving NPC, Ye Susheng, would disappear for a while every morning, so she exploited a bug to follow Ye Susheng and found her ‘home.’

Hua Suihe was utterly captivated by Ye Susheng’s beauty, constantly provoking her to trigger dialogues. After playing the game for half a year, she couldn’t even remember what the main storyline characters looked like-her attention was entirely focused on Ye Susheng.

Until the day the game’s developer made enough money and planned to shut down the servers and abscond. Hua Suihe couldn’t bear to part with her beloved Ye Susheng, so she spent fifty million (RMB) to buy the game’s rights, happily took the contract home, had a good night’s sleep, and woke up in this shabby wooden cabin.

That morning, she was jolted awake by a noisy alarm clock, and then came a knock at the door. Seeing the game character standing alive in front of her, Hua Suihe had only one thought in her mind:

Can I finally tease the NPC up close?

Ye Susheng’s attitude toward her was also very familiar. She showed no surprise at all at a woman suddenly appearing in her home. In fact, the first thing she said was, “Wife, I’m home!”

As if Hua Suihe really was her wife, living together day in and day out.

Now, ten days had passed. There was no system prompt in her mind, and she couldn’t leave the game. After ten days without streaming, her fans had probably reported her missing.

Luckily, she had no family, so the only thing she felt sorry for after being missing so long was her career.

After washing up, Hua Suihe walked over. Ye Susheng was still wearing a lavish black and red dress with a large hoop skirt and black lace gloves, standing by the fire stirring porridge in a pot.

The skirt was so wide it brushed against the flames, but it didn’t catch fire-probably what players often called a “clipping bug.”

Hua Suihe looked down at her own pink piggy pajamas, feeling a strange sense of being on a different layer from Ye Susheng.

Ye Susheng brought the cooked porridge to the wooden table and called Hua Suihe over for breakfast.

Hua Suihe sat down and praised her cooking before starting to eat.

After eating most of her meal, Hua Suihe put down her spoon and looked out at the road. “Ye Zi, how do I get to where you work?”

The road ahead was shrouded in mist. She had tried before, but no matter which direction she went, she always ended up back at the wooden cabin after passing through the fog.

She wanted to go to the city, at least to see the other models in this game world.

She had asked before how to get to the city, but as soon as Ye Susheng heard, she started crying, begging Hua Suihe not to abandon her and so on. She couldn’t get an answer and had to comfort her for a long time.

Now, she tried asking in a different way, hoping for a better result.

Hua Suihe carefully watched her reaction and, seeing a look of serious contemplation on her face, breathed a slight sigh of relief.

She heard Ye Susheng reply, “My workplace is a bit far. I usually take the car there.”

Hua Suihe: …?

She clearly vanished at a set time every day-when did she ever take a car?

“Is Hua Hua going to take me to work tonight? Then you’ll have to get in the car with me.”

Without the ability to teleport, Hua Suihe closed her eyes, as if she had lost all her strength and means.

She could only reply weakly, “If there’s a car to take, sure.”

Note:

This isn’t a traditional infinite flow story, just a touch of horror (in my opinion), a light and sweet romance. This book was written purely for personal enjoyment. If you don’t like it, please stop reading in time-don’t leave negative reviews. Thank you, darlings, and may you be happy every day~

This is a GL (girls’ love) story, not just friendship. If you don’t read yuri, please take care!

The game world is entirely made up and has nothing to do with real games-please don’t project! Some characters may behave extremely or have questionable values-please don’t imitate!

Finally, as a specialist in sweet stories, princesses and princes can enjoy with confidence. Sending love (๑•̀ㅂ•́)ノ➹♡ (This is a sweet romance with a tiny bit of angst as a plot catalyst, but no tragedy.)
