Su Sheng’s lips curled slightly, and from the corner of his eye, he glanced toward the end of the corridor.

Able to dodge the Anomaly guarding the floor and make it up to the eighth floor-pretty lucky.

He’d kill them while Hua Hua wasn’t paying attention.

The two of them passed through several corridors, still without seeing their target. Hua Suihe grumbled irritably, “The layout of this eighth floor is a mess, and the room numbers don’t even match up.”

“Crunch, crunch-”

A crisp chewing sound suddenly rang out.

Hua Suihe looked around warily. Every room had its door tightly shut, and apart from the corridor, no rooms had their lights on. Besides her and Su Sheng, there was no one else around.

Su Sheng suddenly gripped Hua Suihe’s hand. “Hua Hua, I know where Room 08 is.”

“Hm?” Hua Suihe was a bit distracted. “Ye Zi, did you hear any strange noises?”

Su Sheng blinked blankly. “Nope.”

“Really?”

That crunching sound was just like chewing on bones-just hearing it sent chills down her spine.

Su Sheng’s tone carried a hint of urgency. “Come on, Hua Hua, I’ll take you to Room 08.”

“Okay…” Hua Suihe followed Su Sheng, but she still looked around, unwilling to give up.

The sound was very close. If it was just someone making noise while eating, that would be fine, but if those big guys from the third floor had made it up to the eighth, that would be dangerous.

As Su Sheng pulled Hua Suihe around the corner, he flicked the grappling hook in his hand, striking the clock hanging on the wall.

The round-faced clock twisted for a moment, then opened a gaping, bloody mouth and spat out a silver key. Along with it fell a skull, sucked clean.

“Urgh, urgh-huff huff, ah ah ah-”

The clock let out a sharp, explosive screech, its hands freezing at four-thirty.

The key was snatched away by Su Sheng’s grappling hook.

“What was that sound?” Hua Suihe instinctively stepped back, wanting to turn and look.

Su Sheng quickly grabbed her, redirecting her attention and making something up. “Maybe the security guard woke up. We can’t let ourselves be discovered.”

“Oh, right, we can’t let the guard find us.” Hua Suihe muttered seriously, then saw Su Sheng produce a key from who-knows-where and insert it into the door’s keyhole.

She looked up. “But this is Room 107.”

“Room 08 is inside.” Su Sheng pushed open the door and led her in.

Inside this room were animal specimens!

Directly facing the door was a complete tiger skin, skull still attached. Its eyes were lifelike, full of terror, as if it had suffered greatly before death.

Hua Suihe was so frightened she stumbled back two steps, bumping into the doorframe, only then realizing she’d broken out in a cold sweat at a single glance.

Each glass case contained a different kind of animal. Even those cute, common pets had been made into living specimens.

Every pair of eyes stared straight at the doorway. The moment you entered, those lifeless gazes seemed to follow you everywhere.

Su Sheng tried to raise his hand to cover her eyes. “Hua Hua, close your eyes. I’ll lead you.”

“No need.” Hua Suihe almost gritted out the words. Her face was pale with fright, but her lips trembled with anger.

That damn director actually had such a hobby!

This pet hospital actually let him do this? Or are all the doctors here in on it with him?

Maybe what they’ve done is far worse than this.

[What the hell is this place?]

[Are these real? This is too much.]

[I can’t look. Hua Hua, hurry up and leave, I’m going to have nightmares.]

Hua Suihe whipped out her phone and started snapping pictures of the room. At first, she thought exposing the hospital was just part of the Script Game, but now, even if this was just a game world, it was absolutely unforgivable.
At this point, living in the game world, one has to admit that even things without code settings have their own way of operating.

In reality, when playing a game, you can only see the building model labeled as a pet hospital on the game interface. Who would have thought that the inside of the hospital would evolve into something like this?

After taking the photo, Hua Suihe didn’t dare to look any longer and tugged on Su Sheng’s sleeve. “Let’s go.”

“Okay.”

At the end of the corridor, the clock that had its throat gouged out dry-heaved for a long time before finally recovering, opening its mouth wide to pick up the bone that had fallen to the ground and chewing on it again.

The hands of the clock began to tick normally once more.

“They went into Room 107.” Fang Ge only whispered the update to Yi Shuang after seeing the door close.

The door was shut, and they didn’t have the key to get in.

Yi Shuang’s eyes narrowed slightly. The dagger in her hand suddenly slashed toward the clock on the wall that was approaching them. The blade wind was fierce, the movement swift, precise, and ruthless.

The clock, stabbed hard in the throat, immediately retched and, after a couple of heaves, actually spat out a whole person-someone it had just swallowed and hadn’t had time to chew.

Yi Shuang took the clock down from the wall and smashed it hard onto the ground. It shattered into pieces, the retching stopped, and a key fell out.

Yi Shuang bent down to pick up the key, not sparing a single glance at the victim.

“Is it Water Cube?” Fang Ge came over and checked the man’s breathing-there was still a faint sign of life.

He could be saved.

Yi Shuang’s gaze was icy cold as she stated, “Even if he survives, we can’t take him with us.”

Even if a life was saved, he was too weak to walk. Staying here would only mean being swallowed by another clock.

Fang Ge silently performed a round of CPR. Not long after, the man on the ground opened his eyes.

Seeing that he had come to, Fang Ge immediately stood up and said to Yi Shuang, “Let’s go quickly. Are we following them into Room 107?”

She wasn’t stupid-of course she didn’t want to bring along a burden. She wasn’t even sure she could survive herself, and she still had to rely on Yi Shuang.

Rescuing Water Cube was already the utmost kindness. Whether he could live until dawn depended entirely on his own luck.

Yi Shuang fixed her gaze on her for a moment. “Let’s go.”

She completely ignored the person crawling in the shadows on the ground, trying to stand up.

Yi Shuang walked to Room 107, aimed the key at the keyhole, and gently turned it. The lock clicked open.

She didn’t rush to push the door open, but instead, the door was pulled open from the inside.

Yi Shuang’s hair stood on end, her body tensed, and she used her points to exchange for a Teleportation Talisman, ready to retreat at the fastest speed at any moment.

She was gambling.

A puzzled voice sounded: “You… found this place too?”

The one who opened the door was Hua Suihe.

She had bet correctly.

From the corner of her eye, Yi Shuang saw Su Sheng standing behind her. Those striking red eyes were now openly displaying contempt and malice toward all life.

A demon radiating murderous intent, thick black mist condensed into a scythe raised high-just waiting for a command to end all weak lives.

But at this moment, the demon was wary and dared not act rashly.

Yi Shuang sneered inwardly. As expected, she had guessed right.

Their relationship was unusual.

As a player, Hua Suihe was both relaxed and naïve in the face of so many Anomalies. She was either a seasoned veteran, or… the demon never showed his scythe in front of her, preserving her innocence.

As expected, it was the latter.

Yi Shuang’s lips curled. “We meet again, Hua Suihe.”
