Hua Suihe (nicknamed Hua Hua) stepped aside. “Come in quickly.”

Just now, Hua Suihe was about to follow Ye Susheng to the cubicle when she heard noises in the corridor. She initially thought it was a patrolling security guard, but faintly caught the voices of girls talking.

Hua Suihe guessed they were players, but was also ready to knock them out if things turned hostile.

Fang Ge followed behind Yi Shuang, using Yi Shuang’s body to block Ye Susheng’s view, wishing she could make herself completely invisible.

After the two entered, Hua Suihe closed the door behind them, not noticing the man crawling in the shadows on the floor.

“Hua Hua, come with me.” Ye Susheng spoke softly, holding Hua Suihe’s hand, concealing her killing intent, and gave the living people who were in the way a cold glance, the warning in her eyes unmistakable.

Yi Shuang forced a smile, but said nothing.

She guessed their relationship was close, but she also understood not to provoke Ye Susheng. If Ye Susheng flew into a rage and killed them on the spot, it would be a terrible deal.

The four of them passed through the living specimen exhibition hall. At the deepest part, there was a pitch-black doorway with the number 08 pasted on it. The door was not locked and opened with a push.

It was a normally furnished office, without any unsettling decorations-just a desk, computer, and filing cabinet.

They had found the director’s office, just one last step to go. Victory was within sight, but the greatest danger was still by their side.

Fang Ge said weakly, “We need to find the pets’ backup medical records and the drug purchase contracts.”

Yi Shuang had already walked to the desk, turned on the computer, and was going through the documents on the desk and in the drawers.

Fang Ge ran to the file cabinet and opened it to check inside.

Hua Suihe tried to let go of Ye Susheng’s hand so she could help search as well, but couldn’t break free.

“Let me help look too.”

Ye Susheng ignored Hua Suihe’s words, her eyes lowered, staring blankly at the floor.

“What’s wrong?” Hua Suihe lifted her other hand to touch Ye Susheng’s cheek. “Why do you look unhappy?”

Ye Susheng’s eyes moved mechanically, her gaze landing on Hua Suihe’s face, tracing her features as if with substance, winding around her slender, graceful neck.

For the first time, Hua Suihe felt uneasy under her gaze. She pinched Ye Susheng’s cheek, “What’s wrong, what’s wrong?”

Their movements drew Yi Shuang’s attention. Seeing the scene before her, her pupils contracted sharply.

Black mist was continuously pouring from Ye Susheng, and those sentient threads wrapped around Hua Suihe’s neck, climbing upward like tentacles, touching her face and lips, even merging into her hair.

But Hua Suihe seemed completely unaware, still looking at the ‘killer’ with concern.

Yi Shuang didn’t know whether she should speak up and warn her. If Ye Susheng decided to kill, there would be no chance of escape.

“Hua Hua.”

“Hua Hua…” Ye Susheng murmured softly, black mist already covering her eyes, her red pupils dull and vacant.

“Hua Hua won’t leave, right?”

Hua Suihe replied with certainty, “Of course, I won’t leave. Where could I go?”

Hua Suihe gently shook her by the cheek, patiently explaining, “Hey, once we expose this bad hospital, when morning comes we can go home.”

“Come home with me. Hua Hua won’t leave me.” Ye Susheng muttered to herself, as if answering someone.

Hua Suihe nodded. “Of course.”

The entangling black mist slowly receded, quietly setting the girl free and gently releasing her hand.

Hua Suihe stroked her hair. “Be good. It’s fine if you don’t help, just stand here and wait for me.”

Ye Susheng wasn’t a player, she was on the NPC side, so Hua Suihe didn’t force her.

Hua Suihe went to search the computer files, while Yi Shuang and Fang Ge searched through the paper documents.
Ye Susheng turned around, her back to everyone, staring blankly at the door frame.

She didn’t dare to look. She was afraid she wouldn’t be able to suppress her impulse to stop them from clearing the dungeon.

This wasn’t her first time inside a dungeon. In the past, before her powers had fully awakened, her consciousness had already awakened.

She knew that after clearing the dungeon, players would be sent out of the dungeon world.

When they would next be sent into another dungeon was unpredictable.

So she worried-worried that after Hua Suihe cleared the game, she would be sent away from the dungeon world.

But the only way to resolve this was to kill Hua Hua (her nickname for Hua Suihe) and turn her into an Anomaly that would remain in the dungeon forever.

Ye Susheng squatted on the ground, her long white hair trailing straight onto the floor. Hugging herself, she leaned against the door like a dejected little dog.

She didn’t want to turn Hua Hua into that kind of ugly thing. If she did, Hua Hua would lose her essence-she would no longer be Hua Hua.

But what if Hua Hua left?

A persistent gloom lingered around her. Conflicting thoughts battled in her heart. Disobedient black mist seeped from her body again, crawling darkly along the floor, winding around Hua Suihe’s ankles, clinging and rubbing against her.

No one knew how much time had passed when Hua Suihe discovered the sales records and account books. She sent them, along with photos from her phone, to the reporting channel, and also posted them online to expose the truth.

“This won’t work,” Yi Shuang reminded her from the side. “This way, you won’t get even a single view. The exposure task won’t be completed.”

Moreover, engagement and discussion levels must increase before six in the morning, and now there was less than an hour left.

Fang Ge had also piled a stack of files on the floor, forming a small mountain, but it was clear she hadn’t finished moving them all.

These were backup medical records for all the pets. This was the only pet hospital, and countless pets had been treated here in the past. There were only paper records-it was impossible to look through them all, let alone upload them all online.

Yi Shuang and Fang Ge had entered the dungeon’s final stage. There were plenty of viewers in the livestream room. The earlier idea was that exposure could be achieved through the livestream camera, but now that wasn’t working either. In other words, that plan was also invalid.

Hua Suihe looked at the mountain of “evidence” on the floor, refreshed the video she had posted from the computer, and sure enough, the view count was zero.

Yi Shuang glanced at the phone beside her. “Can I borrow your phone?”

“This phone has no internet access.” Hua Suihe showed her the signal bars.

“If we can’t do it today, we’ll do it tomorrow. If there’s no data, we’ll pay to promote it. As long as we gather the materials, there will always be a time when this hospital is investigated.”

Fang Ge looked at her in surprise. “But after six o’clock, none of this will matter.”

Everything they were doing now was to fulfill the victory condition and clear the dungeon. After six, it would be considered a failure. No one would care what monsters lurked in this hospital.

“It matters. If this hospital can’t keep running, that’s what matters.” Hua Suihe didn’t argue further. She put away her phone, stood up, and walked over to Ye Susheng, who was squatting motionless by the door.

Hearing Hua Suihe’s words, Fang Ge’s hands slowed, her feelings growing even more complicated.

Hua Suihe squatted down beside Ye Susheng. “Why aren’t you sitting in a chair?”

Ye Susheng tilted her head to look at her, shaking her head slightly, her mood very low.

Hua Suihe was about to reach out and poke her cheek when suddenly the door in front of them was pushed open. Caught off guard, she was knocked over and fell to the ground.

Seeing Hua Suihe fall, Ye Susheng hurried to help her up. “Did you hurt yourself?”
