Chapter 56

[Hua Hua fell asleep, but she didn’t end the stream. This is way too intense, fam. I need someone to scrub my brain.]

[I’m not sleeping tonight. Who understands how terrifying it is to watch someone melt into a puddle of blood and then congeal back into a human shape with your own eyes?]

[Hua Hua that deadbeat girl is sleeping like a rock again-perfectly missed another horror movie +1]

[Who said my Hua has bad luck? This is amazing. She perfectly dodges every horror movie, every single time.]

[Stop talking about it. As long as Hua Hua’s fine. If she can see the chat, wouldn’t we scare her to death?]

[Spam a wave of “hahaha,” line up the formation.]

Hua Suihe really hadn’t been reading the chat.

She pushed herself up from the couch and looked around in a daze. Shattered glass littered the floor, drinks of different colors splashed everywhere. Several small hanging lamps had been yanked down, and the tables and chairs were a mess.

There wasn’t a single person left.

Hua Suihe looked at Ye Susheng. “They all left?”

“Yeah. Everyone drank a lot. Once they got drunk, they started acting up and trashed the place.”

“I can’t believe I slept that deeply.” Hua Suihe rubbed her temples, puzzled. “It was so loud, and I still didn’t wake up.”

Ye Susheng helped smooth her messy hair and tuck it behind her shoulders, still in the mood to tease. “Hua Hua, your alcohol tolerance is way too bad. One glass and you’re out-hehe~”

Hua Suihe averted her gaze and looked away, catching a lock of hair and winding it around her finger, clearly not wanting to continue that topic.

“Hua Hua, there’s something else I need to give you.” Ye Susheng thought of the dungeon payout. This time the wages came out to several tens of millions. She hadn’t cared about the number in her balance before, but after shopping with her wife, she realized her pay was way too low.

So she’d raised the salary for this dungeon. Now the bank card was finally presentable. She took it out and handed it to Hua Suihe. “I’m turning over my salary card to my wife. Everything I earn is for my wife to spend~”

Hua Suihe thought of the hundred thousand Ye Susheng had finally managed to save after years of being forced into under-the-table labor, and she couldn’t help feeling a little guilty. Her hand, which had started to reach out, pulled back. “The money Ye Zi gave me is still enough. You should keep yours for now.”

Before the dungeon started, the big-shot in the livestream-‘Alphabet’-had tipped her with ‘Get Rich Overnight.’ But that broken System only cashed it out as a rich-girl identity inside the script. The so-called wealth was nothing but an illusion.

She’d been unemployed for far too long.

The game System’s built-in livestream perspective connected to the real world, but none of the tip money went into her pocket.

And now that she was bound to the System, every time the Yu Sheng Troupe released a new script, she had to report in. That made it hard to find a stable job. The most suitable option was going back to her old trade-streaming.

If she couldn’t stream the game, she’d stream her daily life.

While she was distracted, calculating how to make some money, a soft, sticky-sweet voice full of grievance sounded by her ear.

“Why does Hua Hua draw such a clear line…”

Ye Susheng clenched the gold card in her hand, tears welling in her eyes. She lowered her head and forcefully stuffed the card into Hua Suihe’s hand. “Hua Hua, don’t dislike me for being poor, okay? I already raised my salary. I’m not poor anymore.”

“No, no~” Hua Suihe didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. She lifted a hand and pinched Ye Susheng’s cheek. “How could I ever dislike Ye Zi for being poor? If we don’t have money, we’ll earn it together. I won’t dislike you, okay?”

Ye Susheng held her hand and repeated in a muffled voice, “I already have money.”

In her heart, Hua Suihe still believed Ye Susheng was being forced into under-the-table labor. This dungeon was only four days-when it ended, her pay probably wouldn’t increase by much.

But she still coaxed Ye Susheng and went along with it, asking, “You have money now? How much money do you have?”

“Fifty million.” Ye Susheng’s tone lifted, clearly waiting for Hua Hua to praise her.
“Fifty million…” Hua Suihe repeated with a beaming smile. Then it hit her, and she paused, uncertain as she asked again, “How much did you say?”

Ye Susheng arched her brow, her tone smug. “Fifty million~”

Hua Suihe stared at her in disbelief. “Wait… salaries can jump like that?”

“Heehee~ Hua Hua can spend my money now.”

Hua Suihe carefully wiped the fingerprints off the gold card. She’d been poor for a long time. The last time she’d seen fifty million was when she bought those copyrights. Even if prices were higher here, fifty million would still last a while.

Over the moon, Hua Suihe pecked Ye Susheng on the lips twice. “We’re rich, Ye Zi! My wife is the most capable wife ever!”

[Brother Zimu: Wow, wow, look at that expression. When I sent her fifty million in gifts, why wasn’t she this happy?]

[Gu Gu: Do I not have money in my pocket? How can she be blinded by a mere fifty million?]

[You big spenders sure know how to talk. And this stream, seriously-why are all the gifts greyed out? We’ve only sent a few and it won’t let us send more. Can’t even show off our financial power.]

[I think the higher the Streamer Level, the more gifts you unlock, so our Streamer Bae still needs to work harder.]

[Daily Wish: I hope Hua Hua will reply to the barrage. Hua Hua always acts like she can’t see us. I don’t even know if she realizes we exist.]

[I just want her to know we’re still keeping her company. Even in another world, Hua Hua isn’t alone.]

Hua Suihe spared a bit of attention to glance at the chat and the floating messages, and the euphoria of getting rich started to settle.

She still didn’t dare reply. She felt like the real world had already spread news of her death, and now she was alive on camera again. To people back there, that would probably look like something out of a horror movie.

But she hadn’t expected it-her fans weren’t scared at all. They’d accepted that she’d fallen into another world, and they squatted in her randomly timed livestream, keeping her company even though she never replied or interacted.

It was genuinely touching. Those years of streaming hadn’t been for nothing.

But today, she still steeled her heart.

She slipped the gold card into her pocket, then held Ye Susheng’s face in both hands and gave her a reward-like kiss.

Only this time, once she kissed her, she couldn’t get away.

Ye Susheng leaned in and pinned her there, forcing her against the sofa backrest, making her tilt her head up and take Ye Susheng’s barely-contained hunger.

[No one’s around anyway. Just do it.]

[It’s only the hundred thousand of us-don’t treat us like strangers.]

[Why stop now? Don’t tell me Ye Susheng isn’t going to take responsibility.]

[If I remember right, today’s Hua Hua’s fifth day on her period. Is it safe to do it now?]

[I have a feeling the stream’s about to go black.]

After the heated kiss came soft, lingering intimacy.

Ye Susheng took Hua Suihe’s hand and pressed it over her heart, her voice frustrated and pitiful. “Hua Hua… I know it’s unfair to you to feel this way, but I have to confess-every time we kiss, I want to devour you…”

Hua Suihe breathed lightly, her cheeks washed in pink. Her watery eyes lifted to Ye Susheng, the look in them almost sticky with sweetness-equal parts bashful and sulky.

“Ye Susheng, how long is your break this time?”

Ye Susheng was still busy figuring out how to leave a hickey on Hua Hua’s snowy skin, answering absentmindedly, “Seven days.”

After she’d made a perfect red mark, she continued, “But the location for the next script is really far away. Do you want to come with me, Hua Hua? If you don’t want to, that’s fine too.”
