Chapter 63

The next morning, Hua Suihe woke up in bed to find herself alone in the room.

She lazed around with her eyes closed for a bit before finally crawling out of bed once she was fully awake. She checked the time: 7:30 AM.

She combed through her hair with her fingers and put on her slippers to head out the door.

The beautiful Ice Coffin came into view. Hua Suihe’s mind was sluggish for a moment before she walked over. Ye Susheng was lying in the coffin, eyes closed in a deep sleep.

Hua Suihe squatted beside it and reached out to poke her cheek. “Wakey-wakey, time to get up, wifey.”

Ye Susheng didn’t react.

Hua Suihe put a hand on her shoulder and shook her. “Wifey? Wifey?”

Ye Susheng still didn’t move.

“No way… It couldn’t be…” Realizing something was wrong, Hua Suihe anxiously checked her breathing. She was still breathing; she wasn’t dead.

Hua Suihe pinched her cheek and threatened fiercely, “Sleeping Beauty? Do I have to take liberties with you before you’ll open your eyes?”

“What’s going on…”

She reached both hands into the Ice Coffin, intending to lift Ye Susheng up. Unexpectedly, the sleeping woman suddenly moved, grabbing Hua Suihe’s hands and pulling her into the Ice Coffin.

Caught off guard, Hua Suihe slammed into Ye Susheng, bumping her nose so hard that tears welled up from the stinging pain.

Ye Susheng opened her eyes and rolled over, pinning Hua Suihe beneath her. A hint of confusion flickered in her deep red eyes. She wiped away the tear hanging from the corner of Hua Suihe’s eye and asked uncertainly, “Hua Hua?”

Hua Suihe was scared half to death and immediately protested, “Why did you pull me in so suddenly!”

“Sorry, Hua Hua. Let me blow on it for you.”

Ye Susheng had been worried the System would assign Hua Suihe a separate identity or task, or that she might be maliciously bound to a ghost marriage task. So, early on, she had set herself as Hua Hua’s ghost marriage partner.

On the first day of a ghost marriage, she needed to lie in the coffin with her wife. For some reason, Hua Suihe’s symbiotic doll wasn’t in the Ice Coffin, so Ye Susheng could only drag her in instead.

Ye Susheng was still pinning her down, so Hua Suihe reached out to push her. “Alright, alright, get up quickly.”

Ye Susheng obediently sat up straight and pulled Hua Suihe up.

Hua Suihe rested her arms on the edge of the Ice Coffin, her previous prejudice against the coffin having vanished. “No wonder you were sleeping so soundly. This warm ice really does feel comfortable.”

[Why am I seeing these two cuties flirting in a coffin first thing in the morning…]

[Hua Hua is no longer the same Hua Hua who was so disgusted by the Ice Coffin last night.]

[It’s daylight. Will Hua Hua take us on a tour of the village?]

[I’m making a wish: I hope Hua Hua doesn’t run into any danger. Scripts for remote villages like this are the easiest places for things to go wrong.]

In the early morning, vendors outside were shouting, hawking meat and vegetables.

The fridge was empty, so Ye Susheng decided to go out and buy groceries before coming back to make breakfast for Hua Hua. She took a stack of cash and headed out alone, telling Hua Suihe to stay home and play for a while.

Hua Suihe didn’t follow her. Instead, she took out her phone, put on her Bluetooth headset, and started her first livestream.

She set up a tripod in the kitchen, placed her phone on it, and began washing rice to cook porridge.

Once Ye Susheng returned with the groceries, they could just cook the dishes and have breakfast.

Her previous three videos were all lifestyle-themed, so she planned to keep her current livestream focused on daily life as well.

Before long, a crowd of curious viewers flooded in, immediately asking where Ye Susheng was.

[Is this background the location for the Rural Wedding dungeon?]

[The beautiful streamer is the top new player, Peanut. I’ve seen her from other people’s livestream perspectives.]

[Where’s Ye Susheng? Where’s Ye Susheng? I just want to know where she is so I can go tell my Streamer Bae to stay safe.]
[I’ve seen so many immersive perspectives, but why is this person using a phone to livestream in a dungeon? Is it that primitive?]

Hua Suihe dried her hands, plugged in the stove, and started making porridge.

After setting everything up, she picked up the phone. The number of viewers had reached seventy or eighty thousand and was still climbing.

Hua Suihe greeted the audience on the phone with poise. “Hi, friends in the livestream! Good morning~”

The die-hard fans watching from Hua Hua’s perspective had waited over a month without a single reply to their comments. Now, seeing her start a livestream on a phone to greet strangers, their world collapsed. The bullet chat was filled with jealous remarks.

[Gu Gu! Look at her! Hua Hua is going solo! Who can stand this?!]

[Actually, we’re the ones being forgotten. Hua Hua is no longer in the same world as us.]

[Aaaaah, I don’t care! My Level 20 fan badge is always on! I’m Hua Hua’s bestie, waaaah!]

[Look at us! I don’t believe your eyes are empty, you stinky Hua Hua!]

The livestream comments on the phone were all discussing where Ye Susheng was, showing zero interest in the streamer or the content.

So, Hua Suihe shifted her gaze to the System’s built-in livestream chat. It was full of heartbreak, and she couldn’t bear to look at it.

She felt like a cheating scumbag doing it right in front of her wife’s face.

This time, Hua Suihe really couldn’t bear to see these long-time fans having such a breakdown. She couldn’t help but speak up to comfort them: “Oh dear, my sisters are all shattered again. Shall I piece you all back together one by one? Don’t break, don’t break. It hurts my heart.”

[Wait, what?!]

[Hua Hua! You can see us!]

[Wow, you’ve been ignoring us for over a month! You cold-hearted woman!]

[That’s it, I’m completely inconsolable now. I’m unfollowing.]

[Hua Hua, they’re all being mean to you, but I’ll be good to you. If they leave, I’ll stay. I love you most, Hua Hua.]

[Oh no, the person above is a total green tea. We’re doomed.]

Since this was the first time Hua Suihe had properly addressed the comments, the fans were emotional. The bullet chat scrolled incessantly, making her eyes glaze over.

Hua Suihe didn’t know where to start, so she simply ignored the comments again. She walked toward the front gate, opened it, and looked outside to see if Ye Susheng had returned.

It was a long alleyway. Someone with good eyesight could see from one end of the village to the other.

The vegetable vendor from earlier had a loud voice, so he should have been nearby.

But now, the entire alley was empty. Not a soul was in sight-no vendor, and no Ye Susheng.

She tapped her watch-phone to call Ye Susheng, but it rang for a long time without anyone picking up.

She stepped out and stood on the road, shouting Ye Susheng’s name into the empty alley. Her voice echoed in the silence.

“Ye Susheng!” Hua Suihe shouted at the top of her lungs. Her voice was piercing enough to reach the stone monument at the village entrance.

No one responded.

However, the gate next door creaked open. Someone peeked out stealthily and saw Hua Suihe.

Hua Suihe walked toward her. “Fang Ge, you’re here too.”

Fang Ge looked panicked and anxious. “Go home, quickly! Leave, leave now!”

As soon as she finished speaking, she slammed the gate shut, leaving Hua Suihe standing outside.

The good news: her neighbor was an acquaintance. The bad news: the acquaintance wasn’t interested in chatting.

But where was she supposed to find Ye Susheng?

She remembered her phone, which was still in the kitchen running the livestream. She decided to go back and get it to try calling Ye Susheng’s phone again.
