Chapter 81

This dungeon was a bit different from the usual ones, because when you scrolled short videos you could actually see promotional ads for the show “Top Star Cultivation.”

“Top Star Cultivation” was a live-streamed program that trained ordinary amateurs into idols. Yu Sheng Troupe had joined as an investor halfway through.

The show’s auditions had started a month ago. A huge number of people had already been filtered out, leaving only a hundred.

Now the investor, Yu Sheng Troupe, was leading the players in to make an airborne entrance onto the stage-an entire batch of people who hadn’t taken part in the auditions at all. What could you say? Being rich really did mean you could do whatever you wanted.

Yu Sheng Troupe had set its sights on someone else’s amateur debut program and dumped money into it so their own players could be folded in.

Of course, that was only Hua Suihe’s personal assumption.

In truth, the show’s filming location had been contaminated. The ones who had passed the auditions and come here were the ones who ended up trapped-and Anomalized into Anomalies.

Yu Sheng Troupe took one look, picked it, developed it into a dungeon, and threw the players inside.

Hua Suihe knew none of this. Ye Susheng brought her to check into the hotel arranged by the show.

As the person in charge of Yu Sheng Troupe-and also Hua Suihe’s benefactor-Ye Susheng naturally took Hua Hua to the most luxurious presidential suite.

Filming would start tomorrow. Hua Suihe used the internet to get a basic grasp of the format: essentially a reality show plus performances of short scripted skits.

There were too many people who’d made it through auditions, and on top of that there were the players who had dropped in. Right now, the show had two hundred people in total. Over the next fifteen days, contestants would be eliminated nonstop, until only the top five remained.

During the broadcast period, the bottom ten in daily personal topic popularity would be eliminated. During scripted performances, anyone with poor acting would also be eliminated.

Just from the popularity rankings alone, ten people were cut each day. In fifteen days, that was 150 people gone.

Hua Suihe stared at the rules she’d found online and, for no reason she could name, grew nervous. If she really could last until the end, wouldn’t she become a real female celebrity?

She was itching to try and eagerly awaited tomorrow.

“Hua Hua, Hua Hua! I’m back~”

Ye Susheng had gone out right after dinner, saying she was going to pick something up. Now she’d returned.

She hugged a stack of materials to her chest and pattered toward Hua Suihe, who was curled up on the sofa.

Like she was offering up treasure, she handed the stuff to Hua Suihe. “Hua Hua, this is a persona-building script. You can just act according to what it says. Of course, you can do whatever you want too-it’s fine even if you just skim it.”

Hua Suihe took it. Ye Susheng scooted up beside her, blinking rapidly as she stared at Hua Suihe, waiting to be praised.

Hua Suihe flipped it open. The title read: The easiest persona to establish is the Straight-Talker persona.

At first, Hua Suihe didn’t care much-until her eyes slid down a couple lines and she saw some jaw-dropping private dirt.

Hua Suihe sucked in a sharp breath. She frowned and forced herself to finish reading the person’s outrageous “secret” info, then finally came back to her senses and asked, “Where did you get this?”

“I asked someone for it~” Ye Susheng tilted her head and leaned closer. One arm draped over Hua Suihe’s shoulder, and she quietly lifted a leg and climbed onto Hua Hua’s lap, neatly caging her against the sofa.

With that, she didn’t even let Hua Suihe keep looking at the file. She leaned in close, eyes full of anticipation for a reward. “Well? Well? Is it useful?”

In Ye Susheng’s mind, it absolutely was. She’d had someone collect hidden gossip and private scandals on some of the guests. Once Hua Hua knew them, all she had to do was blurt the gossip out-she’d be able to lock in a persona and create hot topics at the same time.

And it would definitely be the kind of “show effect” audiences loved most.

Besides, stirring up buzz with someone’s bad history really did generate discussion. If you were a player, in order not to be eliminated, you’d do anything to stay relevant-even dragging out your own shameful deeds and talking about them.
Hua Suihe was pinned down by her, so she could only set the papers aside and wrap her arms around her shoulders, praising her sincerely, “You’re the smartest one. You thought of everything.”

In the past, whenever she followed entertainment gossip, she never understood it. She always got lost in the baseless rumors from marketing accounts and paparazzi, where the truth was purely a matter of guesswork.

Now, she was truly seeing the diversity of humanity.

“Don’t worry, Hua Hua. I’m your benefactor. Even if your buzz is low or your acting is bad, I’ll cover for you. I won’t let you be eliminated.”

Hua Suihe felt a wave of emotion. “I’ve really made it, haven’t I? I’m just living off you now.”

“Hua Hua is the best. Give me a kiss. ^3^”

After cuddling on the sofa for a while, the two of them went into the bathroom together.

Ye Susheng didn’t dare to be too reckless. They had to head to the recording location after breakfast the next morning. If Hua Hua’s legs were sore, she definitely wouldn’t give her a good look.

Hua Hua had to wear pretty dresses, so Ye Susheng didn’t dare leave any obvious marks on her exposed skin.

Consequently, the hickeys that should have been scattered everywhere were all concentrated in those hidden spots that clothes would surely cover.

After returning to the bed from the bathroom, Ye Susheng squeezed some white ointment onto her fingertip and applied it to those bright red strawberry tips, her movements as gentle as could be.

Hua Suihe covered her face with both hands, letting her proceed. In reality, her ears were flushed red as she gritted her teeth, terrified of making any more sounds that might give Ye Susheng the wrong idea.

But she still couldn’t stop a certain someone’s cold fingers from sliding downward.

Feeling the reaction she had hoped for, Ye Susheng narrowed her eyes happily, her voice dripping with sweetness. “Hua Hua~ I knew you still wanted more~”

“You’re always like this.” Hua Suihe felt powerless. She grabbed the overflowing black mist and kneaded it hard as punishment.

“Mmh… just like that…” The corners of Ye Susheng’s eyes were tinged with red, her desire still unspent.

Ye Susheng buried her head in the side of her neck, licking it. “Hua Hua, that’s it. You’re so good~”

With that gluttonous black mist around, there was never any need to change the bedsheets.

The gossip materials she had painstakingly collected weren’t even looked at by the time late night rolled around; she slept straight through until dawn.

Only after getting into the car heading to the recording location did Hua Suihe continue flipping through the Gossip Collection. Some of the entries were truly explosive-the kind of text that felt like it would give her sties just by looking at it-and she made sure to memorize those names.

Ye Susheng’s status was different, so she didn’t enter with her, but she would still be coming to the recording site. This made Hua Suihe feel much more at ease.

Being an actress was something she had never tried before. Aside from her face, she didn’t possess any of the qualifications to be an entertainer.

For the first day of recording, the two hundred amateur trainees were split into two venues due to the large number of people, with two separate live stream rooms set up.

Hua Suihe was assigned to Venue One. Currently, it was an outdoor shoot, part of the reality show phase, with many people organizing a barbecue on the grass.

She couldn’t even keep track of all one hundred faces.

Hua Suihe found a random task helping to prep the ingredients, occasionally chatting with the girl beside her.
