Chapter 86

Xia Moyi unconsciously leaned closer to Hua Suihe as she spoke. Since they were already sitting close together, the distance between them began to feel suggestively intimate.

Hua Suihe stood up with a start. She didn’t lose her composure, but her tone was somewhat distant. “We should maintain a normal social distance for friends.”

“I have a very good relationship with my girlfriend.” Facing Xia Moyi’s earnest expression as she looked up to listen, Hua Suihe couldn’t bring herself to say anything too harsh.

Under the collective gaze of everyone in the lounge, the standing Hua Suihe felt a bit awkward. She could only sit back down, intentionally keeping her distance from the other girl.

Hua Suihe’s obvious resistance left Xia Moyi feeling a bit hurt. “Sister Ah-He, I don’t mean to disrupt your life. Please don’t hate me.”

She wanted things to be like they were before, where Ah-He could be with her every day. They had clearly been so happy every day back then.

Hua Suihe bit her lower lip and shook her head, not responding further.

It would be a lie to say she wasn’t resistant. Xia Moyi’s words made her feel like boundaries were being crossed. Before this, she had worried that Ye Susheng might like Xia Moyi; now, she was worried that Xia Moyi liked her.

This was an urban romance game. When Hua Suihe played it, she hadn’t taken Xia Moyi through the main storyline, so the girl hadn’t met any of the male leads.

Had Xia Moyi’s sexual orientation shifted to match hers too?

Hua Suihe’s coldness left Xia Moyi somewhat at a loss. She didn’t dare to approach again, fearing she would provoke further resentment.

After a few minutes of silence, Hua Suihe gradually relaxed and refocused her attention on the screen. The performances in Room 3 were already underway; she hadn’t really noticed how the previous ones had gone.

The advantage of not being in the first batch was being able to watch others’ performances beforehand. Hua Suihe wasn’t a professional and didn’t want to be easily eliminated in the first round. Currently, aside from Xia Moyi, she didn’t know who her other three teammates were. She couldn’t control her teammates’ performances, but she couldn’t afford to be the one dragging them down.

Meanwhile, Ye Susheng sat in the judging room, holding a tablet to watch the split-screen feed of the waiting room. When she saw the scene of Xia Moyi proactively approaching Hua Suihe, a low-pressure aura spread from her, shattering the water glasses of the other four judging mentors.

Cracks even appeared on the large screen in front of them.

The mentors’ faces were filled with terror. They cowered as they cleared the glass shards from the table, not daring to make a sound for fear of drawing the attention of this God of Slaughter.

However, they didn’t have to live in fear for long. Ye Susheng tossed the tablet onto the table and vanished from her seat in an instant. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

Ye Susheng appeared at the entrance of the waiting room. The doors were tightly shut, and several ugly monsters stood guard outside.

Seeing Ye Susheng suddenly appear, shrouded in black mist, the Anomalies silently moved three steps to the side.

Ye Susheng stood at the door, but she didn’t rush to push it open. Instead, she looked down to check her appearance.

Today, she was wearing a simple white suit shirt paired with black suit trousers. It wasn’t flashy enough.

But Hua Hua had said she liked her best.

Ye Susheng smoothed out every wrinkle on her shirt, but she still wasn’t satisfied. She then instantly manifested a vibrant, form-fitting red dress, pinned a red rose hairpin in her hair, and tied her white hair into a side-braided ponytail.

In an instant, she transformed into an enchanting beauty of immense charm.

Only then did she open the door and walk in with full confidence.

As she opened the door, she drew everyone’s gaze.

Most of those looks were filled with fear.

But the look Hua Hua gave her was one of pure amazement, and that was enough.

Ye Susheng walked to Hua Suihe’s side, not even glancing at the girl named Xia. She leaned down slightly and took Hua Suihe’s hand.

Under Hua Suihe’s bewildered gaze, she kissed the back of her hand and acted spoiled as if no one else were there. “Hua Hua, I’m so bored. I want you to keep me company.”
She was clearly staking her claim in front of Xia Moyi.

Hua Suihe could also feel that Ye Susheng’s arrival had drawn everyone’s attention; all eyes were fixed on them.

Hua Suihe didn’t dare look around, answering in a low voice, “I have to wait here for my turn.”

At ten minutes per room, it would be over an hour before she could go on, and the staff had already said they weren’t allowed to leave the waiting room without permission.

“Then I’ll stay here with Hua Hua~” Ye Susheng’s gaze shifted to Xia Moyi, meeting her eyes. Ye Susheng curled her lips into a cold smirk. “Hello. Could you move over one seat? I want to sit with my wife.”

Hua Suihe’s gaze followed, landing on Xia Moyi.

Xia Moyi sat stiffly against the back of her chair, lowering her eyes to avoid their gaze. Her red lips were pressed into a thin line; she was stubborn and unwilling to budge.

Hua Suihe tugged on Ye Susheng’s hand, suggesting, “There are empty seats in the back. Why don’t we sit back there?”

Just as she finished speaking, Xia Moyi stood up and moved over one seat. She crossed her arms, looking thoroughly displeased.

Her displeasure only made Ye Susheng happy. Her black mist spread over the chair like a cushion as she sat down right next to Hua Suihe. She tilted her head to rest on Hua Suihe’s shoulder, casting a provocative glance at Xia Moyi.

As long as she couldn’t kill that woman named Xia, she would never be at ease.

Hua Suihe lightly brushed her finger against Ye Susheng’s cheek. “You look so beautiful. When did you change clothes?”

Ye Susheng’s eyes darted away, and she stammered, “Just… just now.”

Hearing her tone, Hua Suihe understood instantly. She couldn’t help but chuckle as she pinched Ye Susheng’s braid. “Our Ye Zi looks beautiful in anything, and I really love this suit style today.”

Pleased by the compliment, Ye Susheng instinctively asked, “So, is this better, or is the suit better?”

Hua Suihe looked down; from this angle, she had a perfect view of Ye Susheng’s impressive curves. “If you really must ask, then of course I prefer…”

At Hua Suihe’s meaningful tone, Ye Susheng caught her gaze and instinctively leaned in to rub against her arm. Her ears turned red instantly. “Hua Hua, don’t look at me like that…”

This wasn’t Hua Hua being a rogue; it was pure seduction.

[This version of Ye Susheng is so satisfying!]

[Secretly changing her clothes… the jealousy is practically overflowing, Baby Ye Susheng.]

[Can someone please spare a thought for Xia Xia next to them?]

[Xia Xia’s qualities were all chosen by Hua Hua. Someone raised by Hua Hua shouldn’t be the type to insist on being a homewrecker, so I don’t think Xia Xia’s feelings for Hua Hua are like that.]

[Xia Xia hasn’t gone through the main storyline, so she might not understand complex emotions.]

[But Ye Susheng really does get jealous.]

Sitting right beside them, Xia Moyi could hear Ye Susheng and Hua Suihe’s whispered conversation. Their relationship was so good-it was sickeningly sweet.

From time to time, Xia Moyi would steal a glance at their interaction, her eyes filled with envy.

She wanted Ah-He. She wanted to plant flowers together, live together, and share everything with each other.

But Ah-He didn’t want her.

Ah-He already had someone to plant flowers with, raise pets with, and live with.

She could tell that Hua Suihe liked this Anomaly very much; love was practically overflowing from her eyes.

She could even imagine that if they were to separate, Ah-He would surely be heartbroken.

Xia Moyi didn’t want Hua Suihe to be sad.

But she was so sad right now. Ah-He really didn’t want her anymore. Ah-He had been missing for three months; it turned out she had simply abandoned her.

Xia Moyi silently raised her hands to cover her face, afraid she wouldn’t be able to control her emotions and her expression would turn unsightly.
