Chapter 89

Hua Suihe flipped through the menu, ordered three dishes, and handed it to Xia Moyi. “Order whatever you like.”

Xia Moyi’s behavior was very restrained. After ordering, she handed it to the waiter and sat up straight.

Although Ye Susheng’s presence was expected, she still felt a bit disappointed. It would have been better if it were just the two of them.

“Moyi.” When Hua Suihe called her, she dropped the nickname Xia Xia. Calling her by her full name would have felt too distant, so this form of address was just right.

Xia Moyi forced a thin smile. She believed she knew exactly what Hua Suihe was going to say, so she decided to lay her cards on the table. “Sister Ah-He, are you trying to persuade me… not to bother you anymore?”

“Huh?” Hua Suihe was stunned for a moment and denied it. “No. First, I want to confirm something with you-you already know who I am, right?”

“Yes.” Xia Moyi lowered her eyes, not daring to meet her gaze. “I know Sister Ah-He spent a lot of money on me, helping me buy a house, clothes, planting flowers, raising pets…”

Xia Moyi paused, seemingly catching her breath, before finally daring to look up at her. “Sister, you used to be so good to me. Are you planning to abandon me now?”

Ye Susheng sat to the side listening to her. Her red eyes darkened. She grabbed a glass of water and bit the rim so hard she almost chewed it and swallowed the shards – literally eating glass.

Fortunately, Hua Suihe had been paying attention to her behavior. She timely took the water glass from her hand and placed it back on the table.

Meanwhile, she calmly continued the conversation with Xia Moyi. “Actually, the word ‘abandon’ isn’t quite accurate.”

“You are an independent individual. When I was supporting you, it was entirely out of my own selfishness; it didn’t have much to do with the independent Xia Moyi.”

“You can be grateful for everything I gave you, but you don’t need to make it your whole life. You don’t need to think of our relationship as something too complicated.”

“I know your character and personality very well. I’d be happy to be friends with you.”

Xia Moyi’s fingers intertwined. She stared at Hua Suihe without blinking, finally able to sit face-to-face and chat with her.

During those days when she couldn’t see her, she had been looking forward to this day.

Sister Ah-He’s gentleness made her realize clearly that Sister really didn’t dwell on the kindness she’d shown; it was as if everything she’d done was just a trivial matter.

“Sister Ah-He, I didn’t mean to cause you trouble. It’s just… you were so good to me that I didn’t know how to repay you. I want to stay by your side. You’re good to me, and I can be good to you too.”

“No, no, no.” Hua Suihe shook her head. She reached out and took Ye Susheng’s hand, which was hidden under the table. Her expression remained steady. “You don’t need to think about how to be good to me. My efforts have already been repaid.”

In truth, due to the nature of Hua Suihe’s profession, a game streamer couldn’t just play one game. There were countless games, and following the creed of spending whenever possible, she spent a lot of money on every single one.

Hua Suihe’s expenditure of money and energy on Xia Moyi had already yielded excessive returns during her livestreams.

The reason Xia Moyi couldn’t let it go was that, from her perspective, she had always been on the receiving end of these benefits without ever giving anything back. Over time, this had internalized into deep, heavy emotions.

Hua Suihe understood her well enough. “I hope you don’t feel burdened, and even more so, I hope you don’t develop those kinds of feelings for me because of it.”

[Brother Zimu: Yes, I played a part in that too.]
[Gu Gu: I’ll tip double the amount Hua Hua spent. My Hua Hua can’t be paying out of pocket to work.]

[Speaking of which, Xia Xia was basically raised by the stream’s crowdfunding. Hua Hua’s money comes from the stream, after all.]

[Hua Hua is right, but if Hua Hua raised me like that without asking for anything in return, I’d really have to give myself to her in marriage to repay her kindness.]

[Don’t think I can’t tell-you’re just a Hua Hua dreamer.]

“Moyi, you’re still young. You might not be able to distinguish your feelings yet. If you view your dependence on me as a form of familial affection or friendship, you won’t feel so anxious about gaining or losing me.”

“But if you insist on interpreting it as love, then I’m afraid I cannot accept it. As you can see, I have a lover, and we love each other very much.”

Hua Suihe said a great deal. Beneath the table, she held her lover’s hand, feeling the gaze that had been fixed on her the entire time.

Hua Suihe suddenly realized that Ye Susheng’s love for her was also something she had taught step by step-teaching her how to express herself verbally, how to kiss, how to…

She suddenly realized she was a guiding type of lover.

Hua Suihe let out a silent, light chuckle, pulling her wandering thoughts back to the present. “I’m very happy to officially be friends with you, Moyi. In the future, you’ll meet a partner to grow old with in harmony.”

“You’ll meet that person who gives to you infinitely and only asks for your feelings in return.”

“I understand…” Xia Moyi took out a tissue and wiped away her tears. She couldn’t tell if she was sad or happy. She knew that this sincere, heart-to-heart talk was the final gift Sister Ah-He was giving her.

“Thank you for saying so much to me, Sister. I was immature and almost made you unhappy. I hope you won’t hate me. I’ll be more mindful of my boundaries from now on.”

“Then, in the future, can I come over to Sister Ah-He’s house for meals?” Their homes were very close, separated by only two floors.

“Of course not,” Ye Susheng spoke up, her gaze sweeping over coldly. “Coming over for meals would be very lacking in boundaries.”

Hua Suihe secretly squeezed Ye Susheng’s fingers and smiled. “When there’s time.”

The waiters began to serve the dishes one after another, and the long-awaited late-night snack could finally begin.

She didn’t know what the person at the table behind them had ordered; there wasn’t much of a scent, but the sound of bones crunching rang out continuously.

Just as their table finished being served, the person behind them finished their meal. He stood up and walked out, passing right by them. Hua Suihe happened to look up and saw that it was their teammate from today, Fan Jian.

But he didn’t notice them. He simply paid and left.

After finishing their meal, they went their separate ways and returned to their respective rooms.

By the time they finished showering, it was nearly two o’clock.

Ye Susheng still felt a bit uneasy and needed Hua Hua to provide some loving comfort. Since the reality show filming would continue tomorrow, Ye Susheng had already silently arranged for Hua Hua to be late.

She took advantage of the ‘half-hour’ shower to get a little taste of something sweet.

She deliberately planted ‘strawberries’ in conspicuous places.

With the reality show filming all day tomorrow, the players would surely do their best to generate hype. Ye Susheng was more than willing to let the netizens discuss how much Hua Hua and her benefactor loved each other.

Hua Suihe also knew that she had been incredibly jealous today. It would be difficult to soothe her without a proper ‘treat,’ so she cooperated with her antics.

After the passion subsided, the two shared a single pillow, huddling together. Ye Susheng’s hand was still there, feeling Hua Hua’s blooming for love.

“Hua Hua, Hua Hua…”

“You’re so indulgent with me, Hua Hua. What will I do in the future…”

Hua Suihe was so tired her eyes were closed, responding to her with subconscious hums.

As for the future, they would deal with it when it came.
