Extra I: Three Years Ago, Our First Meeting.

The city’s neon lights were dazzling.

A few faint stars flickered in the night sky.

On my way home from school, passing by the riverside, I dropped my backpack and saved a beautiful big sis who was trying to climb over the railing.

[Are you okay?]

I was too flustered. When I pulled him down by the waist, I used too much force, and accidentally, we both fell to the ground.

He let out a muffled groan, his ink-black hair cascading down like a waterfall, carefully hugging himself and curling up to the side.

Sorry, I just wanted to save you.

He was wearing the uniform of a top city high school.

He looked a grade older than me.

I crouched down carefully, afraid to startle him, gently patting his back and softening my voice as much as possible:

[Big sis, did you encounter some difficulty?]

[Did you have a fight with your parents?]

[Or is it pressure from your grades?]

[You can talk to me. I’m willing to be your confidant. As long as we’re alive, there’s hope. Don’t give up.]

He felt my touch.

His body was stiff, long lashes trembling lightly. He raised a pair of misty, tear-filled eyes to look at me. His skin was sickly pale, but his lips were very red.

So, even beautiful people can be sad?

I pretended to be surprised, then childishly said:

[Big sis, when you cry, you look like the Little Mermaid.]

[It’s just a pity your tears don’t turn into pearls.]

His ears flushed red, tears fell from his lower lashes. Maybe he felt it was too embarrassing to cry in front of someone a year younger, so he pursed his lips, turned his head away, and ignored me with a proud air.

[Can you tell me why you’re crying?]

[Big sis, maybe I can help you think of a solution.]

He blinked, his pleasant voice, hoarse and indistinguishable in gender from crying:

[Don’t call me big sis.]

I thought he found the term too intimate, so I stood up, took out some tissues from my backpack, brushed aside the hair on his forehead, wiped away the tears on his face, and curiously asked:

[Then what should I call you?]

He didn’t answer, just stared at me blankly.

His face was a little red and hot.

I reached out to touch his forehead, but he dodged.

He lowered his head, long hair covering his face, and muttered:

[Anyway, it can’t be big sis.]

[Then can you tell me why you wanted to jump into the river?]

I used the extra hair tie on my wrist to tie up his long hair, then squatted in front of him, arms resting on my knees, chin on my arms, tilting my head to look at him:

[Will you tell me?]

He glanced at me cautiously out of the corner of his eye.

His face grew even redder, and he retorted:

[Then why do you keep looking at me?]

I smiled and explained gently:

[Because you’re so good-looking. I’ve never seen anyone more beautiful than you. I keep wondering, why would someone so beautiful want to give up?]

He was silent, sadly avoiding my gaze.

During that time, I said a lot to him.

He didn’t answer me anymore.

[It’s getting late.]

I checked my watch. I’d been with him for almost two hours. Luckily, he seemed much more emotionally stable now.

[Did you bring your phone? I can call your parents and have them pick you up, okay?]

He gave me a deep look, turned his head, and said gloomily:

[I didn’t bring it.]

In a few days, Shen Ning would take him abroad for treatment.

It wouldn’t help anyway, so dying early might be better.

[Do you remember their number?]

He didn’t respond.

The beauty was a bit stubborn.

I sighed, troubled.

A car stopped not far away.

A young woman got out.

Two bodyguards followed her, and she hurried over. She shot the beauty a stern look, thanked me, and took out a large sum of cash, insisting on driving me home herself.

[No need.]

She was very imposing.

Clearly not just an ordinary rich person.

I took a step back, picked up my backpack, gently hugged the beauty, and said goodbye.

Live well.

Extra II: Shen An Just Transferred Schools

A handsome boy transferred into our class.

Except for the first day, I haven’t seen his face since.
The rest all shrank into the corners and ignored everyone.

After class, I finished my exercises and wanted to take a nap. Tilting my head, I happened to see him from this angle.

Shen An was pale and good-looking.

Slender and tall.

But his personality was eccentric and withdrawn.

He never saw the sun, and his pair of affectionate peach blossom eyes were always hidden under his hat, never showing at all.

Curious, I lay on my desk.

It seemed he never took it off even during class.

But last weekend’s quiz, his grades were excellent. He looked like a very obedient and quiet boy.

Last time, when I rushed downstairs too quickly and almost fell, it was Shen An who grabbed my wrist in time, so I wasn’t hurt.

I still haven’t thanked him.

The sun was scorching, and he squinted uncomfortably, then hurried away.

Maybe my gaze was too intense.

He paused in his writing, put down his pen, his long, cold, pale fingers lifted the hood of his sweatshirt, his brows and eyes carrying a faint, elusive smile. He tilted his head and looked at me curiously, locking eyes with me without blinking.

It felt like being caught in the act, making my ears suddenly flush red as I awkwardly looked away.

I sat up straight and scribbled on my test paper.

[Hmm, I think the answer to this question is d, right? Ah, but the answer seems to be a. Did I get it wrong?]

I pretended to mutter to myself.

After a while, I heard a clear, pleasant laugh.

Trying to cover up.

Those four words popped into my mind.

I dropped my pen, buried my head in the desk, my face growing even redder, so hot I felt dizzy.

Shouldn’t have looked.

But.

My long lashes fluttered lightly.

Shen An’s laugh was really nice.

Extra Story Three:

Brother Bai Shang gave me a few books to study.

I practiced Talisman Drawing for a while.

But it was hard on Shen An.

The house was full of cinnabar and Yellow Talismans.

He couldn’t find a place to step, so he could only float in the air.

Sometimes, when the window was open and the wind blew in,

A talisman would brush against his hand and burn him.

With tears in his eyes, Shen An would come running for comfort.

[My hand hurts.]

[I’m sorry.]

I cupped his face and kissed him.

[It’s okay.]

Shen An hummed softly and clingily, blinked, then pried open my lips with his tongue, holding my wrist as he leaned in to kiss me.

[It’s late.]

His kisses moved from my lips to my neck, biting my collarbone, ticklish and tingling, burying his face in my shoulder, his voice husky:

[You can’t stay up late.]

[Talisman Drawing is exhausting, you’ll get tired.]

[Shen An, you’re so double-standard.]

I poked his face, pretending to remind him casually:

[Every time you cling to me all night, why don’t you say that’s tiring too? Today… mm…]

Shen An wrapped his arms around my waist, his cold fingers gripping the back of my head, kissing me so deeply I went weak all over.

[It’s my fault.]

He lowered his eyes, his tongue lightly tracing my ear, his voice dropping, admitting his mistake obediently, then pleading:

[Can I just cling for a little while tonight?]

[Please, Sister Jiang Qiao.]

He stretched out his voice, utterly bewitching.

So seductive.

[Shen An, don’t call me that.]

I tried to keep a straight face, trying to be serious, but the blush on my cheeks and the softness in my voice betrayed my embarrassment.

[No.]

Shen An lifted his chin proudly:

Unless Sister Jiang Qiao agrees.

[Alright, alright, stop calling me that.]

I covered his soft lips and compromised:

[Just a little while tonight.]

[Mhm.]

Shen An nodded solemnly.

Halfway through.

Sweat from his upturned nose dripped onto my neck, his hair tangled with mine, and he let out a low gasp.

Shen An held my waist, his voice hoarse and pleasant, kissing the corner of my wet, red eyes:

[Don’t cry, it’ll be over soon.]

…

Liar.

He kept calling [Sister Jiang Qiao.]

He said just a little while.

But he clung to me all night again.

[Shen An.]

[Hmm?]

[You’ve become bad.]

Alright, he’s clinging to me again.
