“I don’t want to stay at a hotel. Can I stay at your place?”

I didn’t know why Sheng Yan had given that villa to Sheng Lai, but I really wanted to go back and take a look.

The years when we were most in love were all spent there.

But my words clearly startled Sheng Lai.

“W-what exactly are you trying to do?”

“Sheng Lai, you know me, don’t you? Are you afraid I’ll ruin your Uncle’s engagement? If that’s the case, then you should keep a closer eye on me.”

I didn’t know what Sheng Lai was thinking, but he did take me back to the villa.

Everything here was almost unchanged. The painting I did myself was still hanging in its original place.

For some reason, I suddenly remembered that Sheng Yan once told me he had a friend who really liked my paintings.

I thought his friend had good taste, so I decided to paint a landscape for him as a gift.

But before I could finish the painting, I died.

Every time I thought about this in the Underworld, I regretted not finishing that painting sooner.

Now that I finally had the chance to come back, I wanted to finish what I started.

Familiar with the place, I headed straight for the southernmost room on the second floor. Just as I was about to turn the doorknob, Sheng Lai immediately stopped me.

“You can sleep anywhere you want except this room.”

“I just want to take a look inside.”

“Not even that. Uncle doesn’t let anyone touch anything in there, not even me.”

“If you don’t tell your Uncle, he won’t know.”

“No means no.”

This time, Sheng Lai was very firm. Afraid I would try something with that room again, he dragged me away.

No matter how I tried to explain, he simply wouldn’t budge.

I was really annoyed with him.

“Why are you so stubborn?”

“Unless my Uncle agrees.”
