Novel Info

Our eyes met.

In that instant, time seemed to freeze.

Sheng Yan stared at me, unmoving.

There were too many emotions in his eyes-I didn’t dare to look too closely.

Sheng Lai was the first to react. He pulled me behind him and asked nervously, “U-Uncle, why are you here?”

Sheng Yan’s tone was aggressive as soon as he spoke. “Tell me, who is she!”

At this moment, Sheng Lai actually calmed down.

“What does Uncle think?”

Sheng Yan seemed to realize something, staggering back a few steps.

“If it’s not her, why does she look so much like her?”

Hearing this, Sheng Lai couldn’t help but look at me as well.

If I remember correctly, we hadn’t met before.

But I was certain Sheng Lai knew who I was.

Just then, Sheng Yan took advantage of Sheng Lai’s relaxed guard, rushed up to me, and grabbed my wrist.

Sheng Lai tried to stop him, but Sheng Yan kicked him out the door.

With a bang, the door slammed shut again.

For a moment, only Sheng Yan and I were left in the room.

After a brief silence, Sheng Yan looked me over again.

“What’s your name?”

I lowered my gaze, avoiding his eyes, and replied, “My name is Jiang Wan.”

He has a new life now-I shouldn’t disturb him anymore.

I’ll be leaving soon anyway, so it’s better if he doesn’t know.

Sheng Yan sneered, “Even your voice is exactly the same. Tell me, who sent you?”

Surprised, I looked up. It seemed he just thought I was someone who looked a lot like Song Tao.

That’s fine. Afraid he’d notice something, I simply kept silent.

But the more Sheng Yan stared at me, the more agitated he became.

He gripped my shoulders and demanded:

“Who allowed you to look like her? What exactly are you after?

“Answer me!”

He pushed me against the wall. My back ached from the impact, but I still couldn’t break free from his grasp.

Just then, Sheng Lai, who had climbed back in through the window, saw this scene.

He pulled Sheng Yan away, angrily saying:

“The engagement banquet isn’t even over, and Uncle already left his fiancée to come here. I want to ask, Uncle, what exactly are you expecting?

“Wasn’t it you who personally sent her into the crematorium?”

It was as if Sheng Yan had heard something terrifying. His body trembled slightly, and he didn’t dare look at me anymore. Then he quickly fled the villa.

I watched his retreating figure, a wave of bitterness rising in my heart.
