A flurry of movements, executed in one seamless motion.

Fresh blood splattered across Ruan Tian’s face once again.

The warm liquid slid down her fair cheek, a barely perceptible thrill quietly blooming in her eyes and between her brows.

By the time Guangtou’s group of three realized what had happened, the young man was already lying in a pool of blood.

His blood soaked the grass beneath him, and a heavy, metallic sweetness permeated the air.

Ruan Tian gripped the bloodstained knife and slowly stood up.

Beads of blood rolled down the blade’s sharp edge.

Ruan Tian lowered her gaze slightly, glanced at the body growing colder at her feet, and the corner of her lips curled up in a strange, satisfied smile.

Gangzi’s hands trembled around the club: “B-boss, Cheng San is dead. What should we do?”

He hadn’t even seen how the girl made her move.

The flesh on Guangtou’s face twitched. His mind raced for a way out-this was someone they couldn’t afford to provoke.

Yet he kept a calm face.

“What are you afraid of? She’s alone. Cheng San was just careless-that’s his bad luck.”

“If we go together, do you really think we can’t take her down?”

Gangzi and Yanjing’s legs felt like jelly-they wanted to run.

But they couldn’t disobey Guangtou, their boss. If they ran now, Guangtou would hunt them down later, and they’d be in just as much trouble.

Guangtou made a gesture: “Go.”

Gangzi and Yanjing gritted their teeth, grabbed their wooden clubs, and charged.

But just as they rushed forward, Guangtou turned and ran toward the parked tricycle.

Damn, if he didn’t run now, was he really going to wait around to die?

Guangtou didn’t feel a shred of guilt for selling them out.

People are like that-in critical moments, everyone looks out for themselves.

In this game world, there were no real companions, only temporary allies-like grasshoppers tied together, scattering at the first gust of wind.

Ruan Tian watched him flee, narrowed her eyes slightly, knocked Gangzi and Yanjing aside, and flung her knife. The blade flew straight and true, piercing Guangtou’s heart.

Guangtou turned to look at Ruan Tian, his lips trembling for a long moment before he could utter a single word. His sturdy body slid right off the tricycle.

With the runner dealt with, Ruan Tian tilted her head slightly, casting a casual glance at the two writhing in pain on the ground.

A gleam of excitement gradually lit up her black pupils.

Two more to play with.

Yanjing and Gangzi shivered under her gaze, clutching each other and trembling after the beating they’d just received.

“Y-you… don’t come any closer.”

“Big sis, we were wrong, we’ll never do it again-please let us go.”

“Big sis, you can have everything.”

“…”

After saying this, the two began to empty their backpacks, piling everything they had onto the ground.

Ruan Tian raised an eyebrow at the items scattered on the ground.

Robbing by hand was certainly faster.

But… weren’t they a bit poor?

This pile seemed awfully small.

Ruan Tian felt a bit disdainful.

Gangzi, having emptied his own bag, snuck a look at Ruan Tian. Seeing her unmoved, he quickly turned to rummage through Cheng San’s corpse, emptied his backpack, and arranged it obediently in front of Ruan Tian.

Yanjing followed suit, scrambling to Guangtou’s side and emptying his backpack as well.

“Big sis, that’s everything. Please check.”

The two bowed at a ninety-degree angle, lowering themselves as much as possible.

Ruan Tian didn’t even look. With a wave of her hand, everything disappeared into her backpack.

All paupers.

The two breathed a sigh of relief. Since she accepted their offerings, maybe there was a chance they’d live.

Clearly, they relaxed too soon.

Ruan Tian tossed her bloodstained knife in front of them. Her eyes curved innocently, her voice soft and sweet as sugar-coated frost: “Only one of you gets to live.”
Upon hearing this, both of their faces turned deathly pale.

“Sis… we…”

Yanjing wanted to say something to plead for mercy, but Ruan Tian had already turned away. She neither listened nor negotiated.

She was truly kind today – she used to leave no one behind.

001 wanted to speak, but didn’t know what to say.

In this world, ‘death’ was just a normal thing.

And she hadn’t broken any of the game world’s rules.

Ruan Tian reminded them, “You only have five seconds to think.”

Yanjing stared at Ruan Tian’s back, wondering if in these five seconds he could use the Cleaver to turn on her before she noticed.

But the second he hesitated, Gangzi acted first, snatching up the Cleaver and, without hesitation, slashed at Yanjing.

Yanjing’s arm and part of his chest were torn open, flesh rolling back, bone visible.

He collapsed to the ground, utterly stunned, staring at Gangzi, whose face had turned ruthless.

“Why…”

Weren’t they brothers?

Blood was draining too fast, and Yanjing’s consciousness began to blur.

Gangzi’s voice trembled, full of guilt and pain: “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I want to live, I want to survive. It’s my fault, I’m sorry. I’ll take care of your family.”

After speaking, Gangzi struck again with the Cleaver.

Yanjing died, unwilling.

Ruan Tian looked at the young man still in shock, smiling with her eyes: “Congratulations.”

Gangzi was shaking all over. He had killed his best brother…

The Cleaver dropped to the ground. Gangzi looked at the girl in front of him, who seemed like a demon, and cautiously asked:

“Sis, can I leave now?”

“Nope.”

Gangzi’s heart tightened. The next second, he heard Ruan Tian say, “Take me back to the Main City.”

She was tired and wanted to go back to sleep.

Gangzi swallowed. The rollercoaster of events had left him weak all over.

“Okay.”

Gangzi rode the tricycle over to Ruan Tian. “Sis, please sit tight. The road might be a bit bumpy.”

“Mm.”

There were three small stools in the back of the tricycle. Ruan Tian picked one at random, leaned against the side railing, and was asleep in less than three seconds.

She was already tired, and moving around had only made her more exhausted.

System: […]

It had never seen anyone so carefree. One moment she killed someone’s teammate and tricked them into killing each other, the next she was sleeping soundly on someone else’s tricycle without a care in the world.

Wasn’t she afraid he’d stab her halfway through the ride?

The system had still overestimated this young man’s courage. Not only did he not dare try anything against Ruan Tian, he even made sure to choose the smoothest roads, afraid of jolting the demon in the back.

Gangzi rode the tricycle, carefully delivering Ruan Tian to the Main City gates.

He parked the tricycle and looked at Ruan Tian, who was still sleeping, hesitating.

Should he wake her up or not?

As he hesitated, Ruan Tian’s voice sounded.

“Why are you standing there?”

Gangzi was startled by the sudden voice and took several steps back, instinctively looking at the girl who spoke.

She still had her eyes closed, maintaining her previous posture, breathing steadily, not looking awake at all.

Gangzi wondered if he’d misheard.

“Say something?”

Ruan Tian opened her eyes and sat up straight, her voice tinged with impatience.

Gangzi stammered, “Sis… Sis… we’re here, we’ve arrived at the Main City.”
