Novel Info

Early the next morning, just as Ruan Tian got out of bed, a line of bolded, black system text appeared before her eyes.

[Detected: Player Ruan Tian has missed three consecutive Daily Quests, triggering the Forced Quest mechanism.]

The cold system prompt exploded without warning. Before she could react, a string of scarlet numbers flashed in front of her:

[Teleportation will commence shortly. Please prepare yourself. Countdown: 3…2…1…]

Before the message finished, a beam of white light enveloped Ruan Tian’s body, and the scenery around her instantly twisted into blurry patches of color.

When the light faded, the ground beneath her feet changed from a hard floor to prickly sand and gravel.

She wasn’t even wearing shoes.

Ruan Tian surveyed her surroundings. All she saw was a boundless wilderness: withered yellow grass, jagged rocks, and an air of bleak desolation.

The sky hung low in a dull, gray-yellow hue. Even the wind carried the grit of sand, scraping harshly against her face.

[System Forced Quest Triggered]

Player: Ruan Tian (Level 10)

Forced Quest Triggered: Red Dungeon “Bloodfang Wasteland” (Five-Star Difficulty).

Quest Objective: Hunt down Level 20 Wild Monster “Ironback Wolf” ×100.

Quest Failure Penalty: Death.

[Quest Auto-Start Countdown: 60, 59…]

As the mechanical countdown of the system began, the ground beneath her feet started to tremble slightly.

On the cracked, yellow earth, several gray-black shadows suddenly appeared.

They crouched low, their spines arched in tense curves, pairs of eerie green eyes fixed on Ruan Tian…

Ready to strike at any moment.

Ruan Tian toyed with her short dagger, eyeing the pack of wolves staring hungrily at her, as if considering something.

“001, are you there?”

001: [Host, I’m here.]

“I have a question for you.”

[Host, I can’t help you.]

001 rejected her decisively.

It had warned her before, and now that she was afraid, it was too late.

So what if she came from the Void? In this place, if you don’t follow the rules, you still pay the price.

It knew she wouldn’t die, but she was far too reckless, treating its warnings as nothing but noise.

This time was perfect-a lesson to show her that even if you have backing, you should know your limits. Not everywhere allows her to act with impunity.

Ruan Tian said nothing, but her brows pressed together slightly. The peaceful atmosphere in the air instantly became tense, making it inexplicably hard to breathe.

001 suddenly had a bad feeling.

She wasn’t going to self-harm again, was she?

That move-hurting the enemy a thousand at the cost of eight hundred to herself-what good did it do her?

Didn’t she feel pain?

No, she was a madwoman, a lunatic. You couldn’t use normal logic to understand her.

001 wanted to say something to make up for it.

But… it was too late.

Ruan Tian spun the short dagger, a faint smile tugging at her lips, and plunged it directly into her own head.

“001, have I been too kind to you?”

“You’re just trash hiding in my mind.”

Her voice was soft and calm, as ordinary as eating or drinking, utterly unperturbed.

In contrast, 001 suddenly let out a sharp, grating electronic shriek, like metal being torn apart, carrying an unmistakable note of agony.

[Host, I was wrong.]

[Host, please forgive me! 001 won’t dare again.]

[Host…]

001 begged frantically for mercy. Ruan Tian’s face turned a little pale, but she didn’t stop-she kneaded 001 over and over before finally letting up.

Ruan Tian: “001, you should be grateful you don’t have a physical body.”

001: [Host, I’m listening.]

[As long as 001 knows, I’ll tell you everything.]

001 sounded respectful again. Whether it was just Ruan Tian’s imagination or not, 001 seemed extremely weakened.
But isn’t it just data?

Looks like 001 has secrets too.

Ruan Tian casually wiped the blood from her broken blade. “Do you get experience points for killing these Wild Monsters?”

“Do they drop items?”

These were things she needed to clarify-she didn’t want to work for nothing.

001: [You can rest assured, you get all of that.]

If I’d known she’d ask this, I wouldn’t have bothered pretending. Nearly got myself scrapped for nothing.

001 was now deeply regretting it.

Ruan Tian didn’t pay any more attention to 001. Instead, she waited until the last few seconds and then directly clicked the button to start the mission.

With the light screen gone, a hundred Ironback Wolves swarmed toward Ruan Tian.

Ruan Tian gripped her short blade and charged straight in.

Her figure moved among the wolves as nimbly as a flash of lightning. She didn’t care when her clothes were torn by wolf claws; with every swing of her blade, a wolf corpse hit the ground.

She killed at an astonishing speed. In less than ten minutes, half the Ironback Wolves were dead, and many White Treasure Chests and other items had dropped to the ground.

Ruan Tian didn’t have time to pick them up-she planned to grab them all after finishing the fight.

001, who witnessed the whole thing: [……….]

Where did it get the courage to offend this maniac?

Fast, ruthless, not afraid of pain, and even able to heal while fighting.

Defying all logic.

Halfway through, Ruan Tian’s short blade completely broke down.

There was no helping it-she could only fight bare-handed. Level 20 Wild Monsters still had thick hides. Without a weapon, it took much more effort for Ruan Tian to kill them.

By the time she finished off the remaining Ironback Wolves, just over an hour had passed.

This was only because she lost her weapon; if the blade had lasted, Ruan Tian figured she could have finished in half an hour at most.

[Congratulations, player Ruan Tian, on clearing the Forced Mission Dungeon and becoming the first solo player to complete this dungeon! Experience points doubled. Would you like a Server-wide Announcement?]

(Note: Server-wide Announcement awards 500 coins, 3 Golden Treasure Chests, and 10 Random Weapon Cards.)

Did she even need to think about it? Of course she’d choose the Server-wide Announcement.

Otherwise, what was all her hard work for? Just to pick up those bits of junk on the ground?

Ruan Tian: “Yes, announce it.”

As soon as she spoke, the system prompt sounded across every zone of the game world. Whether inside or outside a dungeon, everyone saw the announcement.

[Server-wide Announcement: Player Ruan Tian from Zone 8888 is the first solo player to clear the Forced Mission Dungeon, accomplishing the impossible challenge! Special rewards: 500 coins, 3 Golden Treasure Chests, 10 Random Weapon Cards! Congratulations to Ruan Tian!]

……

The golden announcement text scrolled across the top of every player’s interface, repeating three times and lingering for a long while.

The name ‘Ruan Tian’ also entered the view of every player.

The Chat Hall instantly exploded:

[WTF, who’s Ruan Tian? Never heard of her!]

[I checked the top 100 on the Level Ranking, and her name isn’t there.]

[Where did she come from? Anyone know her?]

[Boss, please share the secret to clearing the dungeon. I don’t want to grind daily quests every day anymore.]

[Same here… +1]

[+1]

[Zhang San: You all want the dungeon tips, but I’m different-I’m drooling over her chests, golden ones, and three at that.]

[Zhang San: Boss, will you sell? I’ll pay a premium.]

Everyone in the Chat Hall was discussing Ruan Tian, but her name wasn’t on any of the leaderboards, she had no message history in the Chat Hall, and her personal info was invisible-no one could add her as a friend either.

All they could do was shout in the hall, hoping the boss would see and reply.

The earlier messages, while a little controversial, were still peaceful.

What followed, though, was pure toxicity.
