Chapter 145

A distinct curve hung at the corners of his lips on that pale, sculpted face.

However.

As her crimson eyes shifted downward, Beili suddenly noticed that on his broad chest, right where his heart lay beneath the black robes, the surface was gradually caving in.

It was clear that using this ability was consuming a massive amount of his Mana.

…

“Very well. Then, as you said, we shall reward each other.”

He tilted his head slightly, his voice laden with hidden meaning.

…

Beili: ???

How could this man distort the meaning of her words so naturally?

Beili opened her mouth, about to say something.

“Remember to stay hidden.”

The man raised a cold, pale hand and lightly tapped the tip of her nose, saying:

“You wouldn’t want that person to wake up the next day, recall this dream, and realize something was wrong, would you?”

Beili silently swallowed her retort.

Her deep red gaze shifted, and she saw that the thick mist shrouding the door had already dissipated.

With a faint smile in his eyes, Ashera reminded her in a low voice, “That person is extremely sharp.”

As he spoke, his pale hand gently pushed the door open, revealing a palace shrouded in the night sky behind it.

Beili nodded, her eyes narrowing as she said sternly:

“I understand.”

The girl instantly performed a Beast Transformation while simultaneously suppressing all her Mana, turning into an ordinary butterfly.

She fluttered her wings and flew through the door.

After flying only two meters, she stopped.

Turning back, she saw the silver-haired man in black robes, with curved goat horns on his head, still standing lazily behind the door without moving.

The butterfly’s wings paused as the girl’s hesitant voice came from within: “Are you… not coming with me?”

Ashera chuckled softly and tilted his head back slightly, his golden eyes ‘looking’ at her hollowly as he repeated:

“As I said, that person is extremely sharp.”

The butterfly, its wings flapping slowly, went quiet for two seconds. A soft “Mm” came from the girl before she turned and flew away.

…

The Imperial Palace of the Santos Kingdom.

Bertie Swan’s first time performing a prophecy for the Royal Family was alongside her father.

“Bertie.”

Bertie’s father looked back.

Seeing his daughter, who had suddenly stopped halfway and was staring blankly at the night sky, he frowned and urged, “Hurry up. Keeping the Royal Family waiting is a grave discourtesy.”

“Waiting…”

Miss Bertie murmured, repeating one of the words, but otherwise paid him no heed.

She tilted her head and looked up at the high sky shrouded in darkness, seemingly waiting for something as well.

“Bertie…”

Her father’s voice rang out again, his tone tinged with dissatisfaction.

“It’s coming soon, Father. Please wait a little more patiently,”

Bertie Swan said.

“What are you waiting for?”

Her father asked in confusion.

“I don’t know… I should be waiting for someone who is peering into the past,”

Bertie Swan murmured.

After a moment, she seemed to snap out of it, withdrawing her gaze and resuming her steps.

“Father, we can go now.”

…

Subsequently, Bertie Swan and her father arrived at the altar where the Royal Family held divination and prophecy ceremonies.

The Royal Family members were already seated on high thrones beside the altar.

As soon as the two arrived, the divination and prophecy began.

…

At this very moment.

Beili was hidden on Bertie Swan’s cloak.

She flattened her two thin wings and remained motionless, trying her best to disguise herself as a decoration on Bertie Swan’s cloak.

This was the King’s dream; no one else would notice her presence.
She was like a pocket of air, her presence effectively zero.

As long as she didn’t make a grand display of flying right in front of His Majesty, he wouldn’t notice anything unusual in his dream after waking up.

First came the Divination Art.

While Bertie Swan waited by the altar, her father had already stepped into the center. He picked up animal bones engraved with special runes and performed a divination for every member of the Royal Family.

Only then did Beili notice those seated upon the high dais: His Majesty the King, the elderly Former King, the Queen, and Prince Cyril, who was still an infant in the Queen’s arms, yet to learn how to walk.

Once the tedious divination concluded, Bertie Swan’s father approached the Royal Family to relay the results.

After that, it was finally Bertie Swan’s turn to deliver her prophecy.

Nine hundred and ninety-nine candles were lit along half the arc of the circular altar.

Bertie Swan sat cross-legged on the altar and closed her eyes, quickly entering a trance.

Her eyelashes fluttered slightly, as if she were seeing something.

Then, she snapped her eyes open.

Beili waited expectantly for Bertie Swan’s prophecy, her focus not wavering for a second.

But suddenly, everything changed.

Her vision plunged into darkness. A second later, she was forced to squint as a bright light pierced her eyes.

It was like a dreamer blinking; the world went black for a fleeting moment, and when she opened her eyes again, the scene of the dream had shifted instantly.

Once her eyes fully adjusted to the light, Beili saw a massive, arched Greenhouse constructed from countless pieces of stained glass.

Warm, golden sunlight filtered through the panes of the domed ceiling, casting mottled, dreamlike rays of color across the interior.

The Greenhouse was filled with neatly arranged stacks and hanging displays of flowers and greenery, all shimmering with a hazy, soft glow under the falling colored light.

Beili still remembered Ashera’s warning. She kept her wings stiff and stayed rooted to the spot, not daring to move an inch.

That was until a familiar figure flitted past her eyes, light as a leaf caught in the wind.

It had two large, fan-shaped wings, their deep purple hue gradually transitioning into black at the edges.

It was a butterfly.

Then, Beili realized there wasn’t just one butterfly in this massive Greenhouse.

They were perched on petals and green leaves, or dancing through the air.

Misty purple, shimmering green, grayish-blue… and all sorts of patterns.

There were countless butterflies.

But… what was going on?

Beili remembered with absolute clarity that just a second ago, she had been at the altar, hiding behind Bertie Swan’s cloak and waiting for her to speak the prophecy.

Yet in the next heartbeat, the dream had jumped to this place.

She cautiously observed her surroundings.

Dozens of servants wearing aprons moved between the flowerpots and greenery. Some were watering and fertilizing, some were pruning branches, and others were using cotton cloths to gently wipe the dust off the leaves.

Beili hadn’t even noticed there were so many people in the Greenhouse at first.

Because the servants moved so gracefully and tried their best not to make a sound, the Greenhouse was unnervingly quiet.

A soft chuckle suddenly rang out.

Then, she heard someone speak, mentioning a name-

“Doctor Cassius Alfredo.”

The butterfly turned its body, looking toward the source of the voice.

Beili saw two familiar figures appearing amidst the flowers and plants.

They were seated in two cushioned golden chairs, separated by a small tea table also fashioned from gold. Two cups of hot tea sat upon the table, steam rising steadily from them.
