Cyril was taken aback.

The originally calm and icy eyes were now filled with incredulous astonishment.

“You’ve already been there?!” Cyril raised his voice slightly.

“Your Highness, there’s no need to be surprised. Opening the third floor of the library is an easy task for me.”

Beili smiled indifferently, then continued:

“If Your Highness helps me, I’ll tell you the method to enter the third floor of the library.”

Cyril stared straight at her and asked, “Where did you learn this?”

“That I can’t say. After all, it’s part of the bargaining chip in our deal.”

Beili curled her lips.

“But since Your Highness accompanied me to read Magic Books in the library all afternoon, I can reveal a bit more about the third floor.”

She blinked, looked Cyril straight in the eyes, and said in a calm and clear voice:

“There is a Book of Truth on the third floor of the library. It can answer any question. If Your Highness doesn’t believe me, you can look up information about the Book of Truth first.”

Thinking quickly, Cyril’s expression gradually calmed down. He looked at her quietly and said, “Then tell me, what kind of deal do you want to make with me?”

Seeing the beginning of her plan become clear, Beili felt slightly relieved.

Just as she was about to speak, a melodious and resonant singing suddenly came from the Boys’ Dormitory behind them.

Someone sang leisurely:

“Oh, beautiful Young Woman,
Your eyes shine like the stars.
Look around,
Don’t hang yourself on a crooked tree.
There are plenty of Noble men here,
Their gazes are full of affection,
Their hearts are filled with longing.
They lay out red carpets for you,
They prepare feasts for you,
They play love songs for you,
They offer you their hearts.
……”

Beili: “…?”

Cyril: “…”

Beili and Cyril exchanged a glance, both with somewhat subtle expressions.

After a moment of silence, Cyril explained expressionlessly, “The one singing is called Lance, a prince from the Tilisha Kingdom. He shares a dorm room with me…”

The singing was ethereal and distant, yet it seemed to echo right by their ears, carrying a bewitching power.

The song continued:

“Oh, beautiful Young Woman,
Do you know,
Those handsome Noble men,
Their souls have long withered,
Their bodies have long decayed,
Their spirits have long been broken,
But they still yearn for you,
Yearn to meet you.
……”

With a light sigh, Cyril added:

“…As you can see, most of the time, he’s an idiot.”

Glancing in the direction of the Boys’ Dormitory, Cyril frowned and said coldly, “This isn’t the place to talk. I’ll walk you back, and we can talk on the way.”

“Alright.”

Beili responded and followed Cyril’s steps.

The two chose a secluded path. Their shoes, separated from the stone slabs by a thin layer of sand, made a sandpapery sound as they walked.

After walking briskly for a while, the playful singing finally faded away.

“Go ahead,” Cyril said.

Beili nodded and briefly recounted to Cyril the matter of Nun Lisa killing Prince Samuel, omitting and condensing some details.

Cyril listened quietly the entire time.

Under the shadow of his lashes, his purple eyes gradually flickered with a dark and unreadable starlight.

“Samuel, huh… As I recall, he really was an idiot with pig slop for brains.”

Cyril sneered coldly, a look of disdain and contempt flashing across his face.

Then he furrowed his brow, his expression returning to cold seriousness.

“But a commoner killing a Noble is a taboo. This Nun is destined to suffer a punishment worse than death. You don’t need to waste any more effort on her.”

Beili’s heart sank.
She already knew everything he had said.

Looking at Cyril, Beili maintained a faint, gentle smile on her face and, with a calm expression, suddenly changed the subject:

“Dean Madeline said that this year’s Holy Island Competition is about to begin. Will Your Highness be participating as well?”

The Holy Island Competition is a regular event held by Holy Island Academy.

Through various magical dueling contests, it assesses the students’ achievements in spells, potions, defensive magic, Elemental Studies, and other areas.

The entire competition is broadcast via the Magic Screen to the royal families of various countries, allowing them to observe the children’s performances.

“Mm.” Cyril nodded.

His amethyst-like eyes showed a look of understanding. He didn’t follow Bartholomew’s lead to ask about the Holy Island Competition, but instead raised his brows.

“So, you want to participate in the closing Hunt Banquet of the Holy Island Competition?” he asked.

Beili’s smile faded, her red eyes growing especially resolute.

“Yes, Your Highness has guessed perfectly.”

Unknowingly, they had walked to the end behind the dormitory building, atop the seaside cliff.

Waves crashed against the rocks, the cliff wind was cold, and beneath the cliff lay a pitch-black abyss, as if a giant beast had opened its jaws.

The two stopped and gazed at the dim, dark sea in the distance.

Beili took a light breath of the cold air mixed with sea breeze, and slowly revealed her plan:

“I want to participate in the closing Hunt Banquet as prey. If I win, I’ll exchange my victory for immunity, so that Lisa can regain her freedom.”

Even though he had guessed her plan, a trace of surprise still flashed in Cyril’s eyes.

The Hunt Banquet-after the Holy Island Competition ends, the top ten most outstanding students become hunters, while the remaining students become prey, engaging in a hunt within a designated area.

The prey can also counterattack and encircle the hunters. The Hunt Banquet only ends when either side is completely wiped out.

Afterwards, if the hunters win, the Academy selects the winner based on the number of prey they hunted.

The number of hunters in the closing Hunt Banquet is fixed at ten, but the number of prey is not specified, and students can even volunteer to participate as prey.

Dean Madeline had already agreed for Bartholomew to participate in the Hunt Banquet as the Dean’s Office assistant.

To become prey in the Hunt Banquet.

Holy Island Academy will grant the winner a wish, as long as it is reasonable and not excessive.

“In the closing Hunt Banquet of the Holy Island Competition, the hunters are all students with outstanding results.”

Cyril lowered his gaze, his eyes cold and puzzled as he stared at Bartholomew.

“Why do you feel so much compassion for a commoner who killed a Noble, and even lower your own status to become prey in the Hunt Banquet for this commoner?”

“As far as I know, you haven’t even been at Holy Island Academy for half a semester… Did this commoner save your life during this time?”

He asked in confusion.

“No.” Beili shook her head.

Only someone like Cyril, born with a silver spoon and noble status, would believe there is an innate gap between Nobles and other classes, and care so much about status.

Lowering her status meant nothing to Beili.

If, after winning, she could help Lisa escape her cage and darkness, and start a new life, lowering her status would be worth it.

Beneath her long, thick lashes, her gem-like crimson eyes shimmered under the pouring moonlight.

“Let’s just call it my selfishness. After all, the meals cooked by this Nun suit my taste quite well.”

She pressed her lips and smiled lightly.

Cyril’s expression turned speechless, then he spat out four words:

“Truly foolish.”

Thinking of something, he suddenly added, “You’re both from the Constance Family. You and Susanna may have the same plan, but your methods are completely different.”

“Susanna came to me with a sincere and pure heart to ask for my help, but you…” As he finished, his voice couldn’t help but carry a hint of a cold laugh.
