After a full day of traveling, we finally settled down at an abandoned gas station.

I took the initiative to help Sun Shuang set up the tents and start the fire. Both of us were kept busy, running back and forth without a moment’s rest.

Chi Zhou looked over at me several times, but I simply pretended not to see him.

Once we finally finished the chores, I had a sudden premonition. Chi Zhou was likely going to come looking for me.

I quickly grabbed Sun Shuang and asked him humbly, “Um, could you teach me a few self-defense moves?”

Chi Zhou paused for a few seconds after hearing that before slowly saying, “You haven’t said a single word to me today, and you haven’t…”

I bit my lip, knowing exactly what the second half of his sentence was. Chi Zhou wanted to say that I hadn’t given him a kiss today.

In the past, no matter how dangerous the situation was, I would always find a moment to steal a kiss when the other two weren’t looking. I knew he was under a lot of pressure as the captain and bore the responsibility of protecting everyone. So, I wanted to make him feel as relaxed as possible.

Having said his piece, Chi Zhou gave me two more soothing kisses before heading out to keep watch for the night.
