The Bullet Comments Say I'll Die, I'll Act Out to Perfection - Chapter 2
Chapter 2
That bastard Pei Yuheng said he’d let me take the lead.
Yet throughout the entire night, he was like an out-of-control beast, driving me to the brink of death as if he’d gone mad.
By the end, I had completely forgotten the warnings from the bullet screen about my tragic demise.
Unable to take it anymore, I raised my hand and slapped him again.
He paused.
He pressed his tongue against the inside of his cheek, the palm resting on my waist trembling slightly.
In the next instant, a hoarse voice rang in my ear: “Again.”
Before my consciousness slipped away, I kicked him in the shoulder.
Any lingering thoughts of being difficult had long since vanished. With the last of my strength, I commanded in a raspy voice, “Put the jewelry I brought back tonight into my safe.”
I am a person who fears three things most in life.
First, having no money.
Second, having no life.
Third, having a life but no money.
So, rather than waiting for his White Moonlight to return and kick me out, I might as well grab as much as I can while I still have the chance.
Before I closed my eyes, I faintly heard a low chuckle beside my ear.
“Alright.”
Actually, Pei Yuheng and I have known each other for a long time.
It’s just that since I was a child, I’ve been notorious in our social circle for being pampered, willful, and arrogant. I also had a habit of sticking up for others.
He, on the other hand, was gloomy and taciturn. Even when he was bullied, he would just purse his lips and stare coldly at the perpetrators.
Once, while attending a banquet with my father, I happened to run into him being surrounded and shoved around.
Without a second thought, I rolled up my sleeves, rushed in, and gave those people a beating.
But Pei Yuheng wasn’t grateful at all. Instead, he frowned and gave me an impatient glance.
“Mind your own business.”
His voice was as cold as ice, and he turned and left as soon as he finished speaking. I was so angry that I threw a series of punches at the air behind his back.
The next time I heard news of Pei Yuheng, his father and stepmother had died in a car accident. His father’s illegitimate son had also been banished abroad.
Pei Yuheng naturally became the sole head of the Pei family.
Young, handsome, and wealthy beyond measure. Unfortunately, he was deaf in his left ear.
As for how he attained that position, everyone in the circle understood without saying a word. That was why, when my family forced me into an arranged marriage with him, I refused with everything I had.
I couldn’t stand the thought of marrying an utterly cold-blooded, deaf man who wouldn’t even spare his own relatives for the sake of power and profit.
After the wedding, I bottled up my grievances and found every possible way to make trouble for him. I went against him in everything he did. I’d call him dozens of times a day, and if he didn’t pick up, I’d smash the most expensive-looking ornaments in his study.
I’d pick apart the meals he personally cooked for me, taking only one bite before throwing them away. When I was in a bad mood, I’d go to the mall and max out his cards-only for him to send me a card with an even higher limit the next day.
From beginning to end, Pei Yuheng silently endured all of my bad temper. Even when he was at his angriest, he would only pin me to the bed and retaliate through his actions.
The friends around me all said that since I had pushed things this far and Pei Yuheng still hadn’t killed me, he must be deeply in love with me.
As time went on, even I almost started to believe it.
Perhaps because the information from the bullet screen during the day was too shocking, I had a nightmare that night.
In the dream, I discovered that I was living inside a novel. I was the Villainous Male Supporting Fake Young Master. The True Young Master was Pei Yuheng’s White Moonlight-the person he had always loved.
I was merely a fake who had usurped someone else’s place. Years ago, the elder Pei Father had looked down on the White Moonlight’s humble origins and forcibly torn them apart, driving the True Young Master to commit suicide by jumping into the sea.
Little did anyone know, he didn’t die. He was rescued and sponsored to study abroad. Years later, the True Young Master made a grand return and reunited with Pei Yuheng.
As for me, the substitute, my fake identity was publicly exposed, and I was kicked out of the house. To prove his loyalty to the True Young Master, Pei Yuheng secretly arranged for people to deal with me. In the end, I died on a cold street, my corpse scavenged by wild dogs.
It felt too real. When I woke up, I was drenched in a cold sweat, my heart pounding wildly.
I sat up abruptly in bed, trying to tell myself that dreams are the opposite of reality. But the eerie text that had appeared out of thin air yesterday still made me instinctively afraid.
After thinking it over for an entire day, I decided to turn over a new leaf to escape the fate of a tragic death. I would stop being difficult, stop making scenes, and stop trying to control Pei Yuheng. I even needed to temporarily suck up to him. That way, when his White Moonlight returned, he might be willing to part on good terms and even give me a large sum of money.
With that, what kind of life couldn’t I have?
