Jiang Ci checked Song Ran’s soul-it was far too weak, and needed to be returned to her body as soon as possible.

Just as she reached out to help, Song Ran suddenly woke up, as if Jiang Ci’s aura had burned her.

Song Ran saw Jiang Ci holding her arm, a flash of surprise in her eyes. “You’re alive, aren’t you? You can actually touch me?”

After her suicide, she’d become a ghost. Other than her kind, no living person could see her.

Actually, she didn’t mind it. No more restraints; she could go wherever she wanted, free as could be.

Jiang Ci said, “Your grandfather asked me to find your soul.”

Song Ran was stunned. “Grandpa always hated talk of ghosts and spirits. Didn’t he call you a charlatan?”

“He didn’t say charlatan, but he did curse me.”

Song Ran curiously sized her up. “You’re one of those people in novels, born with a Yin-Yang Eye, right?”

“Aren’t you afraid of seeing ghosts?”

“When I first left my body, I was so scared I almost died again. That’s when I realized people really do have souls after death.”

Jiang Ci smiled. “How does it feel to be a ghost?”

Mentioning this, Song Ran’s gloomy eyes suddenly brightened. She said excitedly, “It’s fun! I can go anywhere I couldn’t before, totally unhindered! Too bad I can’t walk through walls or fly like the seniors.”

She pointed to the corner, where a female ghost with disheveled hair lingered.

“Your soul just left your body, so it’s too weak. You can only act like an ordinary wandering spirit, doing things as you did when alive.”

“If it’s a fierce ghost with heavy Yin Energy and deep resentment, not only can they fly and move objects, but they can also create terrifying illusions to scare the living.”

Jiang Ci explained.

Song Ran looked like she was learning something. “Are you a ghost catcher? You know a lot.”

“The Yin-Yang realms aren’t so different. Both have laws and supervision. But there’s one thing: when the living die, their debts are cleared, but after death, they must bear responsibility-especially suicide, which is a grave sin in the Underworld.”

Jiang Ci paused, watching Song Ran’s expression.

She didn’t react much, just lowered her head.

Jiang Ci continued, “Suicides think death is the end, but in reality, death is only the beginning of pain.”

“Xiao Ran, you still have a choice.”

“But…” Song Ran looked up, her face covered in tears. “Living hurts too much. Every moment I feel like I’m the worst person in the world. I wish I’d never been born… wuwuwu…”

She buried herself in Jiang Ci’s arms, sobbing uncontrollably.

Jiang Ci gently patted her back.

“Brother Hanzhou! Look, there’s a crazy woman over there. Is she hitting the air?”

Not far away, a girl in a pink tutu and bunny-ear headband pointed at Jiang Ci in surprise.

Bo Hanzhou followed her finger.

He saw the girl in the black dress gently patting the air. The hideous scar on her face made him recognize her instantly.

“It’s her?”

Jiang Ci had changed into new clothes; her whole aura was different.

But what was she doing? She looked a little mentally unstable.

Bo Hanzhou pondered.

Had Jiang Ci become mentally unstable again?

Watching her sit alone in the shadowy corner, acting so strangely, he instinctively wanted to go over.

The girl beside him grabbed him, pouting and muttering, “Brother! Are you sneaking off again? How many times is this now? Every time I ask you to come to the amusement park, you run off. I’m telling Mom!”
Bo Hanzhou pulled away this little troublemaker’s hand and said irritably, “Your mom is at the hospital taking care of your dad and your brother. By the way, aren’t you going to visit them at the hospital?”

“The surgery was a success, wasn’t it? I trust the medical standards of our Song Family Hospital. Anyway, I don’t care, you have to go on the roller coaster with me!”

“No. I don’t like that feeling where your body flies ahead and your soul chases after from behind,” Bo Hanzhou replied. “You go by yourself, I’ll wait for you down here.”

As he spoke, his peripheral vision kept drifting toward Jiang Ci.

He saw Jiang Ci actually talking to the air.

She really is quite ill. Poor thing.

After watching the girl get on the roller coaster, Bo Hanzhou strolled over to Jiang Ci.

Song Ran had still been crying, but when she saw him approach, she was so frightened she hurried to hide behind Jiang Ci.

Jiang Ci looked up at Bo Hanzhou and patted Song Ran’s shoulder. “Don’t be afraid.”

Bo Hanzhou pretended nothing had happened and spoke to her as usual. “Miss Jiang, aren’t you going to play? Why are you sitting here alone?”

Jiang Ci’s expression was calm. “Didn’t I tell you not to leave the temple for three days?”

She glanced at the Headless Ghost trailing behind him.

The Headless Ghost had already found the arms Jiang Ci had torn off, and was now clutching both hands tightly with its half-grown stumps.

Upon hearing Jiang Ci’s devilishly familiar voice,

the Headless Ghost shuddered all over, and without thinking, turned and ran!

Because it had no hands, its running was especially clumsy and uncoordinated, and it immediately fell flat on its face.

It couldn’t get up for a long time, and just squirmed on the ground.

Song Ran was stunned. “Why does he look so scary? Feels like he could crawl over and eat me at any moment.”

Jiang Ci was unfazed. “The world of the dead isn’t as nice as you imagine. Let’s go back first, I’ll talk to you on the way.”

But Song Ran shook her head. “I don’t want to return to the Mortal Realm. I don’t want to go home…”

“Then let’s go somewhere else,” Jiang Ci calculated the time.

Song Ran still had two days left; as long as she returned to her body before then, it would be fine.

Bo Hanzhou was shocked watching Jiang Ci talk to the air, and so realistically, as if there really was a third person among them.

“Are you alright? Do you want me to drop you off at the hospital?”

On the way home, they could pass by the psychiatric hospital.

He didn’t mind taking her there again.

“I’m fine. Come with me,” Jiang Ci said in his direction.

Bo Hanzhou naturally thought she was talking to him, so he moved his feet and obediently followed.

Who knew Jiang Ci would suddenly turn around and look at him in surprise. “Why are you following me?”

Bo Hanzhou replied confidently, “Didn’t you tell me to come with you?”

Jiang Ci’s mouth twitched.

She had been talking to the Headless Ghost behind him.

“You don’t need to follow me. Go keep your girlfriend company.”

Actually, Jiang Ci had noticed Bo Hanzhou as soon as he appeared, and he was accompanied by a young, pretty girl.

“I’ve been single since birth, where would I get a girlfriend? That’s my cousin!” Bo Hanzhou corrected her righteously.

Jiang Ci shrugged and left with Song Ran, a little tail trailing behind them.

Song Ran looked amazed. “He actually went out of his way to explain to you.”

Bo Hanzhou was the son of Song Jinmin’s wife’s younger sister. His parents died in an accident when he was very young, so he was fostered at Song Jinmin’s house.

At every Song Family gathering, Bo Hanzhou was always silent, just burying his head in his food.

She once thought Bo Hanzhou was mute.
