The Hellborn Heiress - Chapter 20
“I can’t sleep at night, I can’t eat, my insomnia is severe. Even if I manage to fall asleep, I’m chased and cursed in my dreams…”
Song Ran held her head in her hands, her face full of pain. Just thinking about it made her whole body tremble uncontrollably.
“What did I do wrong to deserve this treatment from them?”
Jiang Ci patted her back to comfort her. “You did nothing wrong. The ones at fault are those cyberbullies hiding behind their screens, peeping into others’ lives and fantasizing about the truth without distinguishing right from wrong.”
This group of perpetrators, devoid of morals and bottom lines, take cyberbullying as a carnival, attacking anyone they can. The victims can only bear it alone, falling into endless self-doubt.
“Do you know what fate awaits those who accumulate Karma of Speech?”
Song Ran looked at her with tears in her eyes and shook her head. “Will they really get retribution?”
“Yes, and it’s severe,” Jiang Ci told her. “Have you heard of the Eighteen Hells?”
Song Ran nodded.
“They truly exist. The first level of Hell is the Tongue-Pulling Hell. Those foul-mouthed cyberbullies who slander others will be sent there after death, where little demons use red-hot iron tongs to pull and stretch their tongues endlessly.”
“And the sentence in Tongue-Pulling Hell, when converted, is 13.5 billion years in the Mortal Realm.”
Upon hearing this, Song Ran’s face turned pale with fright. She exclaimed in shock, “Oh my god, 13.5 billion years?! The world might be destroyed and they’d still be serving their sentence?”
Jiang Ci laughed. “Their fate is absolutely tragic, but it’s what they deserve.”
“Do you want to see it with your own eyes?”
Song Ran was dumbfounded. “I-I can really see it with my own eyes?”
“You’re a Living Soul, so you can’t enter the Eighteen Hells for sightseeing, but I have a way to let you see the fate of a cyberbully.”
“Really? I want to see!”
Jiang Ci no longer had the strength to draw any more talismans, so she simply took three incense sticks, burned them into two short and one long, and recited the incantation to summon a Ghost messenger.
White Impermanence heard Jiang Ci’s voice in his ear and soon arrived at the door.
“My Lady.”
“Take her to see that foul-mouthed one. She’s a Living Soul, so protect her carefully and don’t let her accidentally enter the Gate of Ghosts.”
Once a foot steps into the Gate of Ghosts, it’s very hard to return to the Mortal Realm.
So just wandering outside the gate would suffice.
When the Underworld’s bus stopped outside the gate, Song Ran was completely stunned.
“Go quickly and come back quickly,” Jiang Ci waved her hand.
Song Ran was pushed onto the bus in a daze, disappearing down the road.
With nothing else to do, Jiang Ci strolled around the area.
Although this was an old suburban district, its geographical advantage was quite good, and the feng shui was excellent.
If she had money, she would definitely buy this land for development.
Unfortunately, after that incident, she swore to forever seal away anything related to that name and never open it again.
Even though she could rival a nation in wealth, now she was just a penniless pauper.
But money is just an external thing. If she wanted to make money, it would be easy.
This time, however, she was focused on collecting Merit, lest the King of the Underworld nag her endlessly again.
“Lady Jiang!!”
Song Ran’s excited voice came from behind.
She jumped off the Underworld bus in a flurry, dashed to Jiang Ci, and threw herself into a big bear hug.
“I saw it! The Gate of Ghosts is actually a thousand feet tall and so grand-it’s absolutely stunning!”
Jiang Ci smiled and asked, “Did you see what you wanted to see?”
“Yes, yes! I saw him. I know that person-he was the one who kept sending me private messages to harass and threaten me! I didn’t expect him to die so soon. Lord White told me it was Lady Jiang who punished him to kneel at the Gate of Ghosts, and every time a soul passed by, he would get a big slap in the face.”
“He got beaten until his face looked like a pig’s head, his mouth was mangled-serves him right!”
Song Ran spoke with excitement, “Evil people will get what they deserve. It’s not that retribution doesn’t come, it’s just that the time hasn’t come yet. Once it does, all debts will be settled!”
“Lady Jiang, I don’t want to die. I want to live.”
“You’re right, life is my own. I won’t live for others anymore!”
Jiang Ci smiled, “It’s good you figured it out. But Xiao Ran, there is one thing I need to remind you.”
“I understand. I can’t tell anyone about what I saw and heard while my soul was out of my body, right?”
“Yes. According to the rules, you should drink Meng Po Soup to erase these two days’ memories, but I think it’s better if you keep them.”
Jiang Ci led Song Ran on the way to Song Family Hospital.
Inside the hospital.
Song Father and Song Youlin were arguing furiously.
“Dad, are you senile? How could you believe a charlatan and even give her money?”
Song Father insisted on transferring his daughter to another city. “Ranran’s accident is already embarrassing enough for our family. Do you want Uncle’s whole family to laugh themselves to death at us?”
Song Youlin’s face darkened. “Can’t we just wait for her to arrive and see if it works?”
“You don’t even know her name. Maybe she took your money and ran. Why would she ever come back?”
“She’s amazing at chess. With that kind of brain, she could make money at anything!” As Song Youlin spoke, he suddenly caught sight of a familiar figure downstairs.
Taking a closer look, it was Jiang Ci.
“She’s here!”
Song Youlin hurried over to welcome Jiang Ci.
“I want to see which clueless charlatan dares to try and scam the Song Family!”
Song Father also went downstairs after him.
“Young Friend! You finally came. So, did you find Ranran’s soul?” Song Youlin asked with anticipation.
Jiang Ci nodded. “She’s right next to me.”
Song Ran looked at her grandfather, who had aged years in just two days, and guilt brought tears to her eyes. “Grandpa!”
“So it was you who tricked my dad out of his money!” Song Father charged forward, reaching to grab Jiang Ci and drag her to the police. “You charlatan, come with me to the police!”
Jiang Ci twisted around, grabbing his wrist and giving it a light squeeze.
Song Father grimaced in pain. “Let go!”
“Whether I’m a charlatan or not, you’ll find out soon enough.”
Jiang Ci flung off Song Father’s hand without hesitation and walked straight toward the Advanced Ward Area.
Song Youlin shot a gloating look at his son, then trotted after her.
Song Father clutched his aching wrist, baring his teeth in pain. “That brat is pretty strong-she almost broke my bones.”
“Mr. Song?”
Suddenly, a clear and gentle female voice sounded behind him.
Song Father turned around to see a girl in a white dress.
He remembered seeing this girl last year at his uncle’s banquet. Wasn’t her name Jiang Wan?
“What is it?”
Jiang Wan looked in surprise at Jiang Ci’s receding figure and asked, “How come Jiang Ci is with Elder Song?”
Upon hearing this, Song Father’s face instantly darkened. “What did you say? That brat is Jiang Ci? That mentally challenged Jiang Ci your family adopted?!”
It was simply a bolt from the blue!
Just thinking that a simpleton had fooled his old man made Song Father furious, and he stormed off after them.
Jiang Wan pulled out her phone and quietly typed out a message.
[Jiang Ci is at Song Family Hospital, Advanced Ward Area.]
