Novel Info

Jiang Ci didn’t stay at the Jiang Family for a moment longer. In this house, aside from the ID card she’d already obtained, the original owner had nothing that truly belonged to her.

She didn’t take the back door, nor did she climb over the wall; instead, she swaggered out through the main gate.

Gold Chain Man, having received the money, took half to squander on pleasure, leaving the other half with a lackey to deliver to the hospital, and sent two small thugs to guard the entrance.

When the two saw Jiang Ci come out, they didn’t dare act rashly and quietly tailed her.

Jiang Ci knew someone was following her but couldn’t be bothered to care. She found a restaurant and sat down to eat.

While eating, a glimmer of golden light floated before her eyes.

Jiang Ci gently raised her hand and accepted a bit of Merit Power from Song Ran, placing it into her Sea of Consciousness.

After her death, she walked the path of a Ghost Cultivator.

Unfortunately, parasitizing a human body meant her power was sealed and greatly diminished.

Her Sea of Consciousness was like a boundless ocean, and this bit of Merit Power was like Jingwei filling the sea-unable to stir even the slightest ripple.

“Full and satisfied. Time to get to work.”

Her slender fingers dipped into some tea, swiftly performing Water Divination.

The Divination Result showed she should go out today, with good fortune lying to the southeast.

Jiang Ci left the restaurant and headed southeast.

The two small thugs kept a careful distance, tracking her and reporting her movements to their boss at any moment.

After about half an hour, Jiang Ci suddenly sensed a strong wave of Resentment nearby.

Such powerful Resentment meant the Yin Creature’s level must be high!

There must be plenty of Merit to gain!

Jiang Ci’s movement was swift as lightning, her feet seeming to ride wind and fire wheels, and in the blink of an eye, she vanished from the thugs’ sight.

The two were dumbfounded: “What the hell, where’d she go?”

“Damn, can that chick turn invisible?”

“Quick, look for her! She must be hiding somewhere!”

While the two scrambled around like headless flies, Jiang Ci was already tracking the Resentment to Artificial Lake Park.

It was nearly dusk.

Artificial Lake Park had once claimed lives by drowning; even in broad daylight, it was sparsely populated, let alone after dark.

Jiang Ci found that the Resentment vanished upon arrival, as if deliberately concealed.

While she searched, Gold Chain Man arrived at the park with six or seven lackeys.

Since few people ever came here, even if they snatched her, no one would see.

“Missy, did you miss your big brother?” Gold Chain Man grinned wickedly, flashing yellow teeth. “Come into big brother’s arms, and maybe I’ll go easy on you~”

Jiang Ci cast a shadowy glance at him.

Then, she bent down and picked up a handful of small stones.

“Puhahaha-”

The sight made Gold Chain Man and his lackeys burst out laughing.

“Are you planning to kill us with those ‘huge’ stones?”

“Hahaha, she really is an idiot!”

Jiang Ci’s expression was calm: “Come at me all at once.”

“Oh, listen to her!” Gold Chain Man rubbed his hands, eyes gleaming wickedly as he stepped forward. “I’d like to see how you-”

Whoosh! Whoosh!

The stones whistled through the air.

Gold Chain Man hadn’t even reacted before he felt as if an invisible sledgehammer had smashed into both shoulders.

Caught off guard, he was sent flying several meters away.

Splash!

Water sprayed everywhere!

Gold Chain Man landed in the artificial lake in utter disgrace, and when he surfaced, the Big Gold Chain around his neck was floating beside him.

His lackeys exchanged glances, then burst into laughter.

“Hahaha, boss, your Big Gold Chain can swim!”

“Boss, why is your gold chain floating?”

Gold Chain Man’s face flushed with shame and anger-he’d lost all dignity!
She hurriedly yanked off the Big Gold Chain and threw it away.

As the ripples spread, the Big Gold Chain gradually drifted farther and farther away.

“What are you standing around for? Grab her!” he roared.

The little thugs stifled their laughter and went to catch Jiang Ci.

Jiang Ci stood quietly in place, flicking her fingertips-anyone who came near was knocked away.

She controlled her strength, aiming precisely at their vital acupoints.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

Bang, bang, bang!

In an instant, the thugs fell into the water one after another, like dumplings dropping into a pot.

They flailed about in panic, trying to swim to shore.

But Jiang Ci stood at the edge, and anyone who dared approach was met with a stone hurled at their head, forcing them back into the water, choking and sputtering.

Soon, all their heads were swollen with lumps.

“Sorcery! She knows sorcery!” someone shouted in terror.

“Sorcery my ass! She’s obviously a trained fighter!”

“Boss, what do we do? We can’t even get close to her.”

The Gold Chain Man, now without his Big Gold Chain, looked grim and bit his teeth. “You little bitch, you hurt people like this-aren’t you afraid of going to jail?”

Jiang Ci looked down at them from above, chuckling lightly. “Even the Jiang Family doesn’t dare call the police, let alone you lot.”

The Jiang Family breaks the law knowingly-they’re guilty of abandonment, abuse, and even intentional harm to their own daughter.

So even if she seriously injured them, they were too guilty to report it.

And this gang of thugs? Even less likely.

Who’s really more afraid of going to jail here?

“You hurt my godmother and my brothers. We’ll hunt you to the ends of the earth to settle this score!”

Jiang Ci shrugged indifferently. “Suit yourselves. Whoever comes, I’ll beat them. If two come, I’ll beat both.”

“But how many of you can actually take it?”

As she finished, another stone shot out from her fingers.

It hit the Gold Chain Man squarely on the forehead.

Blood spurted instantly!

The man panicked, thrashing desperately to get to shore and bandage his wound.

Jiang Ci refused to let them land, deliberately tormenting them.

Whenever he got close, she kicked him right back into the water.

If his underlings hadn’t dragged him up, he might have sunk to the bottom by now.

Everyone was worn down by her, their tempers gone, crying and begging for mercy.

“Heroine, please spare us!”

“The water’s freezing, heroine! Let us ashore, or we’ll freeze to death in this lake…”

Jiang Ci looked at them mockingly. “Still dare to come after me?”

The Gold Chain Man was unwilling to give up. “Even if we don’t, my brother Zhang Qiang will definitely come for you.”

“Why would he bother? I don’t have any money.” Jiang Ci spread her hands, looking innocent. “Didn’t you see I’ve already been kicked out by the Jiang Family? What good would catching me do for you?”

The Gold Chain Man frowned, his face dark.

She had a point.

A pretty girl could be worth something, but she was different.

Aside from being a virgin, which had a little value, she had nothing else!

Especially with that terrifying scar on her face.

A disfigured girl like her wasn’t worth much at all.

Jiang Ci coaxed, “You should go after someone with money.”

“You mean the Jiang Family?”

“Exactly. Nanny Zhang was hurt at the Jiang Family’s house. That’s a work injury-the Jiang Family should compensate.”

“But Madam Jiang is ruthless. She won’t pay up easily.”

“Rich people care most about their reputation. If you can find something that truly intimidates her, she’ll pay up obediently.” Jiang Ci said casually, “You all heard what I said at the Jiang Family today.”

There’s no need to talk about morality with these people-just let them fight among themselves.
