The Hellborn Heiress - Chapter 3
The implication was that she dared to treat her wound in such an exposed environment, unafraid of dying from infection.
Jiang Ci didn’t indulge him either, replying coolly, “You’re good-looking, but it’s a pity you have a mouth.”
Bo Hanzhou’s lips curled slightly, a glimmer of interest appearing in his eyes.
He had left the Jiang Family heiress’s birthday banquet halfway through, only to return for a lost prayer bead bracelet. The hall was in chaos, blood everywhere, and he overheard the servants saying that the foolish adopted daughter Madam Jiang had taken in had gone mad. He thought he’d missed a spectacular show.
Unexpectedly, the real show was here.
Three years ago, his uncle Song Jinmin had kidney disease. That was the first time he heard the name Jiang Ci at the Song Family.
Song Jinmin said Jiang Ci was willing to donate a healthy kidney to him, as long as she waited until she turned eighteen.
Bo Hanzhou gazed intently at Jiang Ci, who was treating her wound barehanded without even a frown.
She didn’t look like someone mentally challenged at all, much less someone who would willingly donate a kidney while alive.
Jiang Ci deftly extracted the shards of glass from the blurred, bloody flesh.
Fortunately, the bleeding had lessened by now. She quickly cleaned the wound, sprinkled on some disinfecting and healing powder, and finally stitched it up.
Bo Hanzhou was stunned.
Her seamless suturing technique was so smooth-without three to five years of medical practice, it would be impossible to do this alone.
If the Jiang Family called this “mentally challenged,” then there weren’t many smart people left in the world.
Moreover, she hadn’t used any anesthetic from start to finish, stitching her own face with a needle and thread-so fierce and unflinching.
That vivid, direct image made him frown tightly, as if the needle were piercing his own face.
“I need to go to the hospital. Want a ride?”
Bo Hanzhou noticed her lips were pale, almost bloodless.
Jiang Ci was indeed exhausted. She had already lost too much blood, and drawing the Rebirth Talisman had drained her energy further. Now she just wanted to collapse on the spot and sleep for three days and nights.
“No need…”
She braced herself on the stone table to stand, but her vision went black, her legs gave out, and she collapsed.
“Careful!” Bo Hanzhou reacted swiftly, rushing over to catch her.
A fresh, gentle scent of sandalwood filled his nose.
In a daze.
A memory flashed through Jiang Ci’s mind-a little child always trailing behind her, tugging at her sleeve, sweetly calling her State Preceptor Sister…
“Where’s Jiang Ci? Find her for me!”
A harsh shout accompanied by several footsteps came from the front yard.
Soon after, Song Sibe arrived with his men. Seeing Bo Hanzhou holding Jiang Ci, his anxious expression eased slightly. He ordered:
“Bo Hanzhou, hand Jiang Ci over. My father’s condition has suddenly worsened-he urgently needs her kidney for a transplant!”
Bo Hanzhou glanced down at the unconscious Jiang Ci, his tone indifferent. “Let’s all go to the hospital.”
He scooped Jiang Ci up in his arms.
Song Sibe hurried after him. When he saw Bo Hanzhou put her in his own car, he frowned.
But thinking of his father’s life hanging by a thread, and that Bo Hanzhou, as a guest, wouldn’t dare act out of line, he didn’t dwell on it and quickly drove to the hospital.
Fifteen minutes later.
Song Sibe arrived at the hospital, only to find that Jiang Ci hadn’t been sent to the operating room, but was instead lying comfortably in a ward receiving an IV.
Song Sibe immediately exploded, pointing at Bo Hanzhou and scolding, “What’s the meaning of putting her here?”
Bo Hanzhou’s handsome face was expressionless. He lounged lazily in a single sofa by the window, his long legs crossed, fingers tapping the table with a dull sound, as if counting down.
“What are you waiting for? Hurry up and transfer Jiang Ci to the operating room-do the kidney transplant for my father immediately!” Song Sibe urged anxiously.
Three or four of his men rushed into the ward, ready to take Jiang Ci away.
Bo Hanzhou glanced at the clock on the wall, his thin lips pressed together as he remained silent.
“Nobody move!”
Suddenly, a group of uniformed law enforcement officers burst in, guns raised and aimed at Song Sibe’s men.
The subordinates, frightened, raised their hands in surrender.
“We’ve received a report that illegal live organ transplants are taking place here. Young Master Song, these are the people involved, right?”
Song Sibe looked completely dumbfounded; his composure vanished in an instant. He grabbed one of his men and shouted furiously, “Who the hell called the cops?!”
The subordinates shook their heads frantically. “Young Master Song, we don’t know! We’re innocent!”
As Song Sibe’s gaze swept past Bo Hanzhou, he keenly noticed that Bo Hanzhou was actually smiling. Realization dawned on him instantly-he lunged forward, grabbed Bo Hanzhou by the collar, and roared:
“It was you, Bo Hanzhou!”
Bo Hanzhou bared a mouthful of white teeth and beamed, “Yep.”
Song Sibe’s face turned pitch black with anger. He shouted, “Ungrateful bastard! My dad raised you-do you want to get him killed?!”
He never imagined that at this critical moment for his father’s life, Bo Hanzhou, that damn dog, would actually call the police!
How could anyone do such a thing?
Bo Hanzhou looked deeply serious and analyzed, “From what I understand, Jiang Ci and Jiang Wan were born on the same day. It’s currently eleven o’clock at night, which means Jiang Ci hasn’t officially turned eighteen yet. According to our country’s laws, a live organ donor must be at least eighteen years old. I’m actually thinking of the Song Family’s best interests-if word got out that Uncle forced a minor to donate an organ…”
It would be utterly devastating to the Song Group!
Of course, Song Sibe understood this principle.
But if you don’t say it, I don’t say it, and the family keeps quiet, who would care that Jiang Ci was still an hour away from adulthood when her kidney was being taken?
Song Sibe was furious.
But he could only turn to the law enforcement officers and force a polite smile, “It’s all just a misunderstanding. The Song Family has always conducted itself lawfully. No one here has done anything illegal.”
But Bo Hanzhou, like he was determined to rub salt in the wound, added:
“That’s right, no one in the Song Family would ever cruelly put a severely injured young girl on an operating table to have her kidney removed.”
“Oh, and to protect the Song Family’s reputation, I’ve recorded everything. With me here, no one can slander the Song Family.”
Bo Hanzhou pulled out his phone and waved it around like a true troublemaker.
Song Sibe: “…”
He could practically taste the urge to kill Bo Hanzhou!
The law enforcement officers carefully checked Jiang Ci’s condition and, before leaving, warned Song Sibe:
“The girl’s body is weak. Even if she’s of age, you can’t force her to undergo a live organ transplant. Unless she volunteers, otherwise you are breaking the law. I’ve registered this incident and will be following up at any time.”
Song Sibe could only agree with a forced smile.
Once the officers left, his face darkened as he turned and raged at Bo Hanzhou:
“If anything happens to my dad, Bo Hanzhou, what will you use to make it up?”
“With your worthless life?”
“Do you have anything to offer?”
His voice was so loud it woke the sleeping Jiang Ci.
Jiang Ci, grumpy upon waking, snapped back, “Who’s barking like a dog? Do it again and I’ll tear your mouth apart.”
Song Sibe was momentarily stunned, unable to process how she seemed like a different person. But he quickly urged:
“Jiang Ci, you’re donating your kidney voluntarily, right? My dad is hanging by a thread-your kidney is his only hope!”
Jiang Ci opened her eyes. She had heard all their conversation just now.
Voluntarily donate a kidney?
What a joke. Do they take her for an idiot?
“I’m not donating.”
Song Sibe looked down at her, his tone unfriendly. “Losing one kidney won’t affect your normal life.”
Jiang Ci looked at him with amusement. “Then why don’t you donate? Wouldn’t a direct relative’s kidney be even better?”
Song Sibe sneered, “How can I be the same as you? Besides, I’m a man. A man can’t just lose a kidney and be fine, can he?”
