Chi Che looked up with an innocent face, his eyes clear yet foolish as he stared at Jiang Ci. “Are you lying to me?”

Jiang Ci: “…”

Seeing her expression as if she were looking at an idiot, Chi Che finally realized, “Oh right, Jiang Fu was hurt by you, so only you know exactly where to apply the needle to save him or to harm him.”

And his father had been injured while climbing.

Su Ningxue was at least the Little Divine Doctor of Longcheng; she couldn’t possibly harm his father.

Chi Che hurriedly scrambled up, sneakily asking her, “Master Jiang, is there a ghost in my house?”

Jiang Ci replied calmly, “Yes.”

“What?!” Chi Che was so scared he pressed close to her. “Where, where is it?”

“There’s a faint trace of Yin Energy in your family’s medical room.”

Jiang Ci had only sensed that Yin Energy after reaching the backyard.

The Yin Energy wasn’t strong, in fact, it was very faint.

Chi Che’s face changed. “There’s really a ghost following my dad? My dad ended up like this because of that ghost, right?!”

“It doesn’t have any Evil intent.” Jiang Ci looked around the backyard.

The Chi Family had a traditional courtyard, with buildings and furnishings meticulously arranged according to feng shui, making it a place that nurtures people-a blessed land.

The Chi Family had practiced medicine for generations, accumulating a great deal of Hidden Virtue, and was a family of upright righteousness.

Normally, ordinary ghosts wouldn’t step into such a household.

Jiang Ci turned her gaze to Chi Che.

Being stared at by her deep, black-and-white eyes, as profound as a dark abyss, Chi Che felt chills down his spine and his voice trembled, “Master Jiang, why are you looking at me like that? Is the ghost standing right behind me… or has it already climbed onto my shoulder?”

Jiang Ci said nothing, her gaze passing through him to look behind him.

Chi Che shivered and turned to look.

A tall, slender Shadow stood behind him, silhouetted against the light.

Chi Che screamed, falling onto his backside, only then realizing who it was.

“Bo Hanzhou, are you trying to scare someone to death?!”

Bo Hanzhou was dressed in a sharp black suit, one hand in his pocket, his expression cold as he glanced at the two of them. “Dean Chi’s life is hanging by a thread, and as his son, you’re having a great time playing around.”

It was already surprising enough that Jiang Ci had come to Chi Che’s place.

He hadn’t expected Chi Che to bring her home.

Chi Che got up, muttering, “Bro, what do you know? I brought Miss Jiang here for my dad’s sake. What about you, why are you here?”

“Oh, my uncle asked me to check on Dean Chi.” Bo Hanzhou’s lips were tinged with color, and as he spoke, his thin lips curled into a slight arc, as if he were smiling, but there was no warmth in it. His gaze remained fixed on Jiang Ci.

Jiang Ci glared back, refusing to back down.

His lips curved even more beautifully.

Chi Che looked annoyed. “Song Jinmin probably sent you to see if something happened to my dad, right? In all of Jiangbei, he’s the only one hoping for my dad to have an accident.”

“By the way, is your leg healed?”

Bo Hanzhou stared at Jiang Ci and said, “It’s fine now, but I’m considering whether to have my lawyer seek compensation from someone.”

Jiang Ci replied with a fake smile, “If Mr. Bo has any discomfort, I can help you, you know.”

Compensation?

Sorry, she’s so broke right now she doesn’t have a single cent.

“Oh?” Bo Hanzhou raised his brows, his lips curling into a mysterious, wicked smile. “How would you help me?”

Jiang Ci casually broke off a sharp twig and, with an extremely kind smile, made a stabbing gesture.

Bo Hanzhou: “…”

Chi Che: “…”

Both of them instinctively felt the urge to clamp their legs together.

“I advise you not to mess with Miss Jiang. The last person who did ended up on the news.” Chi Che quietly warned Bo Hanzhou, “I really don’t want to see your name in the headlines.”
Bo Hanzhou said nothing, his deep gaze fixed intently on Jiang Ci.

Suddenly, Jiang Ci turned and walked away.

“Wait for me!” Chi Che hurried to catch up, not forgetting to turn back and wave at Bo Hanzhou. “With Miss Jiang here, my dad will be fine. You can go back!”

Bo Hanzhou frowned.

Since when did Chi Che trust Jiang Ci so much?

Jiang Ci…

His eyes narrowed slightly.

Her background didn’t even need much digging; a simple check would reveal everything.

Jiang Ci had been orphaned since childhood. Her birth mother was once a maid of the Jiang Family, who died in a car accident, and Jiang Ci was adopted by the Jiang Family as a foster daughter.

But the Jiang Family always abused her, making her life worse than a dog’s.

She had been a fool for the first eighteen years of her life, but now she seemed like a completely different person. Even someone as picky about friends as Chi Che was now trailing after her eagerly. It was truly baffling-what on earth had happened to her?

Bo Hanzhou watched the two as their figures receded into the distance, silently following after them.

“Master Jiang, wait for me! Where are you going?” Chi Che jogged to catch up with Jiang Ci.

“That ghost has appeared. It’s a woman.”

“I knew it! My dad’s been haunted by a Female Ghost! Master Jiang, hurry and destroy her!” Chi Che cried out in alarm.

Jiang Ci said quietly, “Are you sure?”

“Of course!”

“Judging by her features, she’s related to you by blood. If I’m not mistaken, she should be your mother.” Jiang Ci sighed. “Doctor Chi, you’re willing to sacrifice family for justice. Such courage-I admire it.”

“What?!” Chi Che’s eyes widened in shock. “The Female Ghost is my mom?”

“Mom!”

Bo Hanzhou had just caught up when he saw Chi Che howling like a madman by the rockery.

The corner of Bo Hanzhou’s mouth twitched slightly: “…”

He really had gone mad.

Bo Hanzhou instinctively picked up his phone to contact the Fourth Hospital, but paused, recalling how Jiang Ci had kicked him twice and warned him.

He touched his still slightly sore cheek, feeling a bit aggrieved.

“Forget it. When did I become so nosy?”

This was the Chi Family. If those two went crazy, Elder Chi would just give them a few acupuncture needles.

Bo Hanzhou turned and left.

Jiang Ci and Chi Che arrived at the rockery in the backyard.

“Mom, where are you?” Chi Che looked around, regretting not bringing his Ghost-Seeing Talisman.

Jiang Ci glanced at Mother Chi, who didn’t dare come closer. “You’re wearing a Peace Talisman. She can’t approach you.”

Without thinking, Chi Che tossed the Peace Talisman aside. “Mom!”

A chilly breeze brushed his face.

It felt as if a hand was gently caressing his cheek.

Mother Chi looked at her now grown son with relief, tears streaming down her face. She then turned to Jiang Ci, nodding slightly. “I just heard A Che call you Master. May I ask, are you a Celestial Master?”

Jiang Ci smiled faintly. “Something like that.”

“Celestial Master… If you’re a Celestial Master, you can divine a person’s fortune and fate, right?” Mother Chi said joyfully.

“What did my mom say?” Chi Che asked excitedly, pulling out his wallet and handing it to Jiang Ci. “I want another Ghost-Seeing Talisman!”

“I didn’t bring any Yellow Talismans, so I can’t draw one.”

“Then I’ll go look for some. Please ask my mom to wait a moment-don’t let her leave!” Chi Che rushed off to find yellow paper.

Mother Chi floated in front of Jiang Ci, tears in her eyes, speaking with deep pain and sorrow:

“Master Jiang, my husband was pushed off the cliff by my eldest son, Chi Ming.”
