The Puppy Snake's Quest for Love - Chapter 2
Chapter 2
Now the sky had truly fallen.
After all, over the past year, the Puppy Snake had never once transformed into a human in front of me.
So, it had never even crossed my mind that the Spirit Beast I picked up was actually the Male Lead??
I asked the System with a trembling voice, “So… who is the Male Lead?”
The System also sounded like it had lost all hope: [Pei Du.]
I shrieked, “Pei Du?! The number one ranked Sword Venerable of the Immortal Sects??”
The System asked: [What? You know him?]
Of course I knew him.
The Demon Race had always been at odds with the Immortal Sects. As a demon, there was no one who didn’t know the name Pei Du.
Of course, a bigger reason was something that happened a year ago.
Back then, only a few days after I had brought him home, the disciples of the Sacred Cloud Sect began searching the entire world for someone.
They were having a breakdown, asking everywhere:
“Which little brat took our Sword Venerable?!”
But I had just transmigrated into this cultivation world and didn’t understand anything, so I didn’t take the matter to heart at all.
Thinking back now, it turns out the Puppy Snake I picked up was actually their sect’s Sword Venerable??
It all clicked. Everything clicked now.
No wonder my Puppy Snake would occasionally disappear for a while. I thought he was just being playful and had run off to have some fun.
I never expected that he was actually the incredibly busy Pei Du.
I asked the System, wanting to cry but having no tears left, “Then what should I do? Will it affect the mission?”
The System frantically flipped through its data, collapsing:
“I don’t know! The Main God didn’t teach me about this!”
“As long as you can finish the cannon fodder plot and successfully get killed by Pei Du in the end, the mission should be a success, right?”
The first mission was just a warm-up. Soon, the System issued a much more difficult second mission-
Go steal the Sect’s Guardian Treasure of the Immortal Sect.
I was shocked. “There are so many people guarding the Immortal Sect. Can I really do it?”
The System comforted me: [Their most powerful Sword Venerable is currently with you. With your strength as a Demoness, you can easily handle the rest of them.]
And so, when night fell…
After making sure the Puppy Snake was fast asleep next to my pillow, I quietly got up and used a teleportation array to travel to the Sacred Cloud Sect.
Along the way, I dodged dozing disciples and finally used a spell to successfully enter my destination.
With a look of joy, I immediately walked toward the Sect’s Guardian Treasure.
However, just as I reached out to touch it, a powerful pressure from the seal on it instantly surged toward me.
A crushing sword intent attacked me indiscriminately.
I immediately raised my hand to block, but I was still a second too late.
That sword intent pierced through my shoulder. At the same time, a loud alarm sounded in the air.
Clutching my wound, I quickly stuffed the Sect’s Guardian Treasure into my pocket and gritted my teeth, intending to leave.
The cultivators outside heard the alarm and rushed over one after another, surrounding the pavilion.
I did a rough check of their strength.
Good, none of their cultivation levels were a match for mine.
I had every chance to fight my way out.
After two rounds of combat, the cultivators also realized they were no match for me.
The leading Blue-robed Disciple grew a bit anxious:
“What are you standing there for? Go get Elder Liu!”
“Elder Liu is… in seclusion.”
“Then what about Elder Wang??”
“Elder Wang went out to gather herbs…”
The Blue-robed Disciple was fed up. Driven to desperation, he could only say:
“Then go invite the Sword Venerable! Quick! Tell him the Sect’s Guardian Treasure is about to be stolen by someone from the Demon Race!!”
Another disciple said, close to tears, “The Sword Venerable… the Sword Venerable isn’t at the sect tonight either.”
The Blue-robed Disciple’s vision went dark. “Where did the Sword Venerable go again?!”
“I don’t know. The Sword Venerable’s movements have always been unpredictable…”
Hearing this, I couldn’t help but reveal a wicked smile exclusive to the Demon Race.
After sending the Blue-robed Disciple flying with a palm strike, I didn’t want to linger any longer. “Heehee, hope we never meet again.”
With that, I turned to leave.
However, in the next second, a familiar and powerful pressure suddenly descended upon the entire area, pinning me down so hard I could barely move.
My shoulders trembled uncontrollably, and the wound on my shoulder began to throb with pain again.
The Blue-robed Disciple behind me cried out in joy:
“Great! The Sword Venerable is here!!”
“You Demoness, prepare to die!”
Pei Du was here?
I realized things had taken a turn for the worse.
He was sleeping perfectly fine in my bed; how did he suddenly wake up!
To avoid being recognized earlier, I had disguised my appearance and wore a mask.
Even if Pei Du saw me now, he definitely wouldn’t recognize me.
Seeing that I couldn’t run, I had no choice but to stand my ground and see how things played out.
However, after waiting for a long time, Pei Du didn’t even spare me a glance.
It was as if I were just an insignificant ant.
The wound on my shoulder was still bleeding. I heard a disciple ask him respectfully:
“Sword Venerable, how should we deal with this Demoness?”
Pei Du was dressed in white, his figure as straight as a pine tree.
Cold, indifferent, and detached.
No one would have guessed that just a few hours ago, this man had turned into a Little Snake and was coiled around me.
“Demoness?”
Pei Du’s voice rang out, as cold and deep as snow.
He still didn’t look in my direction.
He simply waved his hand casually and delivered his verdict with indifference:
“Just kill her.”
