The Puppy Snake's Quest for Love - Chapter 3
Chapter 3
The Blue-robed Disciple answered with a “Yes” and began walking toward me.
Although I was pinned in place by Pei Du’s oppressive aura, unable to move a muscle, this Blue-robed Disciple lacked the strength to actually kill me.
He realized this as well and turned back with a look of slight embarrassment.
“I must ask the Sword Venerable to take action personally…”
Pei Du seemed to be in a hurry to leave. Hearing this, he was forced to halt his steps, his brow furrowing with a hint of impatience.
With his back turned to me, he raised a hand casually.
His Lifebound Sword flew out at his command, shooting straight toward me.
It carried a cold, powerful sword intent, much like the man himself-as if it could freeze everything for miles around.
I frantically called out to the System: “Help me, System!!”
The System responded immediately: [Please wait, Host. This System is currently scanning the threat level of the opponent’s weapon.]
[Scanning in progress…]
[Threat level is 0.]
[Defense system failed to activate.]
Me: “?”
I was speechless. “Threat level 0?? Your Host is about to die!!”
However, before I could say anything else, Pei Du’s Qingshuang Sword arrived before me with lightning speed.
Under that overwhelming sword intent, I closed my eyes in terror.
Then I waited. One second, two seconds, three seconds.
Nothing happened.
I only felt something gently brush against my finger.
Confused, I opened my eyes.
I saw Pei Du’s Lifebound Sword hovering in front of my waist, using the hilt end of the blade.
It was carefully nuzzling me.
Me, once again: “?”
Seeing that I was ignoring it, the Qingshuang Sword shook with some anxiety, persistently trying to burrow into my arms.
But soon, it noticed the wound on my shoulder.
And so, under the watchful eyes of the crowd, the Qingshuang Sword began to circle around me, emitting a sharp, buzzing hum.
Everyone froze in their tracks, staring at the sword as if they had seen a ghost.
One must know that their Sword Venerable’s Qingshuang Sword had once split ten thousand mountains with a single strike, ruthlessly slaying countless demons and monsters.
Yet the Qingshuang Sword’s current behavior clearly exceeded everyone’s expectations.
Pei Du also quickly noticed the abnormality of his Lifebound Sword.
His brow furrowed deeper, his eyes filled with nothing but impatience as he finally, for the first time, looked in my direction.
In that moment.
Our eyes met.
The Blue-robed Disciple said anxiously, “Sword Venerable, please slay this Demoness immediately! This person must not be allowed to live!”
At the same time, the Qingshuang Sword flew back in front of Pei Du.
The tip of the blade pointed at my wound, then pointed angrily at Pei Du.
The buzzing grew even louder.
Even though it couldn’t speak, I had the distinct feeling it was cursing him out quite filthily.
And so, amidst the expectant gazes of the crowd.
This heartless Sword Venerable remained silent for a long time.
Then, struggling to maintain his cold exterior, he said with a straight face:
“But then again-”
“This matter is suspicious… This Venerable must interrogate her further.”
The disciples: “?”
