Just by looking at Long Tianyu’s reaction, it was clear that Qiu Yu’s previous life was anything but simple.

Hao Jingye nodded, “Yes, it’s Qiu Yu, the Puppet Ability Superpower User, Team Leader of Group A. Was she really that formidable in her past life?”

Long Tianyu nearly jumped up, his voice rising, “Formidable doesn’t even begin to describe her-she was downright monstrous!”

He took a deep breath, and under everyone’s gaze, he spoke seriously, “Qiu Yu wasn’t famous in the first year of the Apocalypse. At least, I didn’t hear her name back then.”

“But in the second year, Qiu Yu burst onto the scene. As the only Puppet Ability Superpower User in the world, she was freakishly powerful. She led a group of her puppets, appearing and disappearing like a ghost.”

“Let me put it this way: because of the global disaster, transportation became difficult. Except for those Superpower Users who could fly due to atavistic abilities, it was hard for anyone to cross between temporary bases. But I’d wager every base knew Qiu Yu’s name.”

“She would show up with her puppets at every base overrun by Aberrants, fighting them with a reckless abandon that bordered on mutual destruction.”

Ke Jiaxue blinked, “Doesn’t that mean she was like a savior?”

Long Tianyu shot her a disdainful look and shook his head:

“If she were a savior, would I call her monstrous? Rumor has it she carried countless meteorite fragments and was already a top-tier Superpower User. And to fight Aberrants, she needed fearless puppets, so-”

“She attacked Aberrants she encountered, turned Superpower Users she met into puppets, and then led them to fight Aberrants. In the second year of the Apocalypse, wherever Aberrants were thickest, she and her puppets would appear!”

Long Tianyu shook his head, “I never met her myself, because whenever Superpower Users heard she was near, they’d keep their distance.”

Everyone drew in a sharp breath.

Especially Zhang Kun, Ke Jiaxue, and Li Xin-they were Superpower Users themselves. Imagining running into Qiu Yu, being controlled to fight Aberrants to the death… and ultimately sacrificed.

No wonder she was called monstrous!

Song Linwei shook his head, sighing, “That’s mutual destruction. When the Aberrants die, the Superpower Users die too. This world is doomed.”

“Exactly. She’s strange-she turns Superpower Users into puppets without mercy, but never harms ordinary people.” Long Tianyu looked genuinely puzzled.

Sheng An and Qi Lingwu exchanged a glance, their eyes full of understanding.

-Never harming civilians, that was an instinct ingrained in them.

-Because civilians were the ones they once protected with their lives and blood.

“What happened later?” Jiang Yu pressed.

Long Tianyu gave an answer none of them expected, “She died.”

“Huh?” Hao Jingye was startled, “How did she die?”

Long Tianyu shook his head, “I don’t know. I vaguely heard that Superpower Users joined forces with Aberrants to take her down. Anyway, she was already dead before I died.”

Everyone looked at each other in disbelief.

Sheng An spoke slowly, “Superpower Users, joining forces with Aberrants.”

She let out a soft, mocking laugh, “So, in the face of a common enemy, even true enemies can unite?”

Seeing her reaction, Long Tianyu was curious, “So, are you her enemy or her friend?”

Sheng An looked at him and smiled faintly.

Long Tianyu immediately shut his mouth.

Ke Jiaxue said, “Even a Superpower User as strong as Qiu Yu died in the Apocalypse. It really is hell.”

Long Tianyu resumed eating, raising his brows, “Plenty of people died. I died, Xiang Hanshuang died, and who knows how much longer Lou Mingwei and the others will last?”

“Xiang Hanshuang died too?” Zhang Kun was surprised, “Wasn’t she really strong?”

Long Tianyu replied, “She actually died pretty early. That woman was domineering, but then she ran into him. The two fought to the death-Xiang Hanshuang died, he was gravely wounded, so he perished together with the Aberrants.”

He pointed at Li Xin.

Everyone looked over.

Li Xin was eating with his head down. Hearing this, he looked up in confusion, a few grains of rice still stuck to the corner of his mouth, looking silly, “Huh?”

Everyone: “……”
-He sure as hell doesn’t look like an expert.

Song Linwei felt a bit complicated. He instinctively looked at Sheng An. “Seems like things were pretty tragic in the last life.”

Sheng An pressed her lips together, her gaze dangerous. “Letting these guys loose really would cause trouble. We should keep them together and fight the real enemy.”

Superpower User against Superpower User-that’s just internal strife.

In an Apocalypse like that, it would only accelerate extinction and give the Aberrant an opening.

Hearing this, Li Xin and Long Tianyu instinctively touched the backs of their heads, feeling a chill.

It seemed like they’d learned everything they needed to know.

Jiang Yu sighed. “Group A’s Superpower Users are already strong, and Qiu Yu seems pretty scary. Are we really going to lose to them? Just Li Xin and Long Tianyu aren’t enough.”

She looked expectantly at Long Tianyu. “By the way, do we have any other Superpower Users in our group? Yu Feng, Wan Yuan, Hao Jingye, and Song Linwei-has anyone awakened their powers?”

Long Tianyu thought seriously, then shook his head. “Haven’t heard of a single one.”

Sheng An exchanged another glance with Qi Lingwu, both frowning.

Not a single one?

Even if they hadn’t awakened, not one of them made a name for themselves?

Jiang Yu didn’t give up. “What about Qi Dui?”

She’d lived until now, two lifetimes, and had never seen a man with such a powerful presence. Would he awaken a superpower?

Long Tianyu gave a fake smile. “Sorry, never heard of him. No idea which random passerby that is.”

He glanced at Sheng An, then added quietly, “Some people really need to open their eyes and see clearly who’s really-”

Qi Lingwu, expressionless, reached for his waist.

Long Tianyu, startled, blinked away from his spot and reappeared in another direction, looking wary. “What are you doing?”

Qi Lingwu straightened his clothes and withdrew his hand.

He didn’t say anything, just lifted his eyelids to glance at him. But combined with his previous actions and reactions, it was full of mockery.

Jiang Yu and Ke Jiaxue nearly burst out laughing.

Long Tianyu bared his teeth in frustration and sat back down, sulking.

There was still one key person. Jiang Yu poked her head out. “What about Sister Sheng?”

Long Tianyu paused.

Then he shook his head. “Never heard of her in the last life, never saw her either.”

He stroked his chin, looking puzzled. “Logically, that shouldn’t be. You’re the kind of woman who’s stuck in my heart-if I’d seen you, there’s no way I’d forget.”

And, he had to admit.

Judging by Sheng An’s way of doing things, she really doesn’t seem like someone who’d be unknown in the Apocalypse.

Even Qi Lingwu doesn’t seem like it…

It’s just too strange.

Sheng An shot him a cold glance, too lazy to respond.

Jiang Yu frowned tightly. “How could that be? It’s so strange. I just feel, judging by Sister Sheng’s way of doing things, there’s no way she wouldn’t have some reputation.”

Li Xin swallowed. “Unless…”

Everyone fell silent.

Sheng An spoke slowly. “Unless I died on the day the Apocalypse began.”

Jiang Yu’s face instantly turned pale, and the others felt just as complicated, including Li Xin.

He really did think this woman was a major villain…

But for someone this capable, if she died on the first day of the Apocalypse, that would be a real shame.

For a moment, the cafeteria fell silent.

Hao Jingye suddenly said, “I don’t believe Sister Sheng would die on the first day of the Apocalypse, and I don’t believe Team 0 would be completely unknown, not a single person standing out.”

Song Linwei took a deep breath and looked at Sheng An-

“There’s another possibility: there’s an even bigger secret, one that ordinary Superpower Users like you can’t access.”

The mysteries kept piling up.

Jiang Yu’s head hurt.

Long Tianyu curled his lip. “What other secret could there be? Even if there is, it’s impossible that none of them ever appeared, right? The probability of awakening superpowers is really low… They probably just didn’t awaken.”

No one paid him any mind.

Hao Jingye and Song Linwei looked at Sheng An, hoping to get more analysis from her.

But Sheng An glanced at the time and stood up-

“It’s about time. We should go pick up Li Wanyun.”
