Chapter 6

“Oh my little ancestor, what you’re doing shows a strong sense of autonomy-how is it any different from jumping off a building to commit suicide? With this method, you probably won’t die, and you’ll just revive again.”

9527’s voice continued to ring in Su Xiaoxiao’s ears, sounding rather helpless.

Su Xiaoxiao was silent for a few seconds, staring at her hand suspended in midair, unsure whether she should knock or not.

She asked inwardly: ‘So, according to you, what should I do?’

“Aren’t you currently participating in the Horror Game and have accepted a mission? If you’re killed by a ghost during a mission, you absolutely won’t be able to revive.”

Su Xiaoxiao opened the mission interface.

[Main Mission: Survive for three days.]

[Side Mission: The belongings of the tenant in Room 206 have reached the hands of Captain Death Clown. Please retrieve the item and deliver it intact to the tenant.]

She understood what the bat monster was trying to tell her.

Su Xiaoxiao: ‘Also, let me ask you something. Just now, a ghost saw me-why didn’t it kill me?’

“That’s something you’ll have to figure out yourself. Didn’t I say before? Dying here isn’t as simple as you think.”

‘Oh, if there’s nothing else, I’ll go seek death while doing the mission.’

Su Xiaoxiao didn’t want to continue communicating with the little bat 9527 and unilaterally hung up the call.

She turned and walked toward the center of the corridor.

She was heading to the first floor to find Death Clown.

She wasn’t wearing the Courier Uniform, and Death Clown should also be a ghost.

Moreover, according to Article 6 of the Courier Rules:

Death Clown is your Captain. Do not contradict him. You must respect and obey his reasonable arrangements.

She was going to contradict him, refuse to obey his arrangements, and deliberately provoke him. Su Xiaoxiao didn’t believe Death Clown wouldn’t kill her!

In an instant, Su Xiaoxiao’s eyes were filled with anticipation.

What Su Xiaoxiao didn’t know was that her Live Stream Room audience was currently embroiled in a heated argument because of her.

: “Oh my, I thought this newly streaming Survivor was something special. Why didn’t she knock on the door and instead turned away? Isn’t she just scared?”

: “Tch, I thought there’d be something worth watching, but in the end, this little girl chickened out. Is that all?”

: “Some folks from Yin-Yang Valley, before you arrived, the little girl already knocked on the door of Room 204!”

: “Exactly, the little girl’s got guts! And that Hanged Ghost seemed to be afraid of her!”

: “What’s all the fuss? Just keep watching. The little girl isn’t wearing the Courier Uniform, and it looks like she’s heading to the first floor to find Death Clown. We’ll see soon enough if she’s brave or not.”

Su Xiaoxiao was unaware of the Bullet Comments battle happening in her Live Stream Room, as she had turned them off.

She was waiting for the Elevator.

The Elevator was currently on the eighth floor and hadn’t come down yet.

Su Xiaoxiao thought for a moment and decided to take the nearby Stairs instead.

The Stairs, constructed from dense white bones, looked ominous and eerie no matter how you looked at them.

Maybe she’d die before even meeting Death Clown?

Su Xiaoxiao stepped into the dimly lit Stairs.

A chilling wind instantly swept up from below.

Su Xiaoxiao felt goosebumps and her hair stand on end, a sense of anticipation rising in her heart.

However, Su Xiaoxiao’s anticipation ultimately came to nothing.

During her descent from the second floor to the first, nothing special happened aside from the cold.

The Live Stream Room audience had also gotten their hopes up for nothing.

Just like Su Xiaoxiao, they thought something dangerous would happen on the Stairs, but nothing did.

However, what Su Xiaoxiao and the Live Stream Room audience didn’t know was this:

After Su Xiaoxiao left, the Stairs made of dense white bones began to move as if they were alive.

Most terrifying of all, countless eyes appeared on the walls!

These scarlet eyes, without exception, all showed a look of “false alarm.”

He was the Staircase Skeleton Ghost of this building, in charge of the Elevator and Stairs, second only in strength to the Evil Ghost Death Clown.

What had he just seen?!

The living girl Su Xiaoxiao’s Spiritual Soul was as black as ink!

Luckily, he hadn’t devoured her right away-otherwise, it would have spelled disaster!

The shock faded, replaced by a deep sense of unease.

The Staircase Skeleton Ghost couldn’t leave this place. If some clueless Lesser Ghost accidentally killed that little ancestor, this building would be doomed!

No-he had to hurry and create a Doppelganger to guard her at all times!

Su Xiaoxiao walked along the corridor on the first floor and stopped in front of the door to Room 101.

Room 101 was where the Death Clown resided.

As Su Xiaoxiao stood at the door to Room 101,

everyone in the Live Stream Room tensed up.

“Even though the girl’s been lucky so far and hasn’t run into any ghosts, this time, as soon as she knocks on the door to Room 101, luck won’t help her anymore!”

“She’s not wearing the Courier Uniform. If the Death Clown sees her, he’ll definitely kill her!”

“Sigh, get ready for the feast. I’m taking the kids’ table-you know what that means.”

“Honestly, this is the first time I’ve ever seen a Survivor in this game not wearing the Courier Uniform. That’s wild, not gonna lie.”

“Streamer, don’t knock! You’ll die without the Courier Uniform!”

Some kind-hearted new viewers tried to warn Su Xiaoxiao, but she had turned off the Bullet Comments and couldn’t see them.

With all the viewers in the Live Stream Room on edge, Su Xiaoxiao raised her hand and knocked on the door to Room 101.

“Knock knock…”

As soon as Su Xiaoxiao knocked,

she and the viewers in the Live Stream Room heard, from inside, a voice begging for mercy, followed by a chilling, eerie voice.

“Captain! Captain! Please give me another chance! I promise I’ll follow your orders and finish the tasks next time!”

“Heh heh… Sorry to tell you, but those who don’t behave must be punished. I’ll just take a hand as your penalty.”

“Ah!!!”

A scream of pain rang out from inside the room.

When they heard this scream, everyone in Su Xiaoxiao’s Live Stream Room felt their scalps tingle.

That’s just how the Horror World is-every day is filled with bloody slaughter!

Soon, some viewers noticed something odd about Su Xiaoxiao.

The girl didn’t seem scared at all. In fact, she looked… expectant?

Was he imagining it?

He wasn’t-he really wasn’t.

After hearing that scream, Su Xiaoxiao was actually looking forward to what would happen to her next!

Su Xiaoxiao didn’t have to wait even a minute.

The door to Room 101 opened automatically.

Under the viewers’ complicated gazes-some sympathetic, some pitying, some curious-

Su Xiaoxiao walked in without hesitation.

As soon as she entered Room 101,

she saw a man whose face was twisted in pain, missing his left hand.

He clutched his wound with his right hand, but the blood wouldn’t stop flowing!

It looked like he wanted to scream in agony, but he didn’t dare-he could only grit his teeth and hold it in.

In front of him was a bizarre clown.

His eyes were blood-red, his skin deathly pale, and the corners of his mouth split all the way to his cheeks, forming an abyss-like maw filled with rows of shark-like sharp teeth.

At this moment, that abyss-like mouth was chewing on something.

Suddenly, a blood-stained finger stuck out from the clown’s lips.

It was clear-he was eating the man’s hand!

Just then, the Death Clown looked over at Su Xiaoxiao with a half-smile, his crimson eyes fixed on her.

The man who’d lost his left hand also looked at Su Xiaoxiao. When he saw she wasn’t wearing the Courier Uniform,

for a moment, his shock far outweighed his pain.

I think something may have gone wrong with the beginning of this chapter.
The jump between Chapter 5 and 6 already feel like something is missing.
And then the whole Elevator Ghost POV also doesn’t sound quite right.
And the room numbers keep jumping around in a confusing way.
Is it a problem with the original story?
