Summary
Shi Mo has only ever wanted a wife, children, and a warm home. A fortune-teller says he is fated to have none, so he prays to his village god—and the god answers. Years later, Shi Mo is blissfully married to the beautiful, devoted Xie Li, even if their efforts to have a baby keep failing. Then Shi Mo’s tyrannical boss starts stalking his wife, exorcists insist Xie Li is neither human nor female, and reality becomes harder to ignore. Yet for a stubbornly traditional man, the real question is not whether his spouse is an evil god. It is whether anyone is planning a divorce.
