After Amnesia, My CEO Ex-Husband Became a Clingy Gloomy Puppy - Chapter 3
I arched a brow.
His voice carried a suppressed tremor.
“I won’t be able to control myself… I’ll want to kiss you and hold you.”
I shouted sharply. “Don’t come any closer!”
His body went rigid.
“I won’t.”
His eyes reddened.
“I won’t do anything you don’t like. I promise.”
I stared into his eyes.
There was desire in them, restraint, and something almost devout.
Then he suddenly pulled out a document.
“This is my physical exam report.”
“I got it done this morning.”
He handed it over, his tone edged with pride.
“It shows that I’m in excellent health, in the prime of my life, and every indicator is better than average for my age.”
I looked at him, speechless.
He took a deep breath, gathered his courage, and shrugged his coat halfway off.
“And the… pectorals you like. I have those too.”
My brain buzzed.
“I do not! Stop making things up!”
He trembled slightly and asked, “Do you want to see?”
“I do not! It’ll dirty my eyes!”
He let out a soft laugh, then took out another document.
“This is my asset report.”
“My real estate, equity holdings, liquid assets, and trust funds.”
He flipped to the final summary page.
I couldn’t help counting the zeros.
There were so many zeros that even in Happy Beans, I wouldn’t have dared dream that big.
I swallowed.
He looked at me seriously.
“If you want, I can give you all my personal assets.”
Oh no.
How could he use money to test me like this?
After several rounds of inner struggle,
the least valuable thing I possessed-my pride-won out.
I turned him down through sheer pain.
“Leave.”
“And don’t text me, don’t harass me, and don’t come to my house.”
His smile slowly faded away.
Like a puppy abandoned by its owner.
“Then can you at least tell me why we got divorced?”
I said nothing. I just pushed him out the door.
He braced himself lightly against it and started stubbornly refusing to leave, his voice muffled.
“If you don’t tell me, I’m not leaving.”
“I’ll just squat outside your door.”
I glared at him.
But he only pressed his lips together, eyes rimmed red.
I lowered my head, not wanting to look at him anymore, and saw the physical exam report on the floor.
“Because you can’t do it.”
Shock flashed through his eyes. “C-can’t do what?”
I looked up and smiled viciously.
“That part of you doesn’t work. You’re an incompetent husband.”
His face went deathly pale, and I shoved him outside.
There were even a few gossip-loving neighbors in the hallway, whispering among themselves while they furiously tapped away on their phones.
After I shut the door, I collapsed onto the couch.
Pressing a hand to my chest, I thought, wow, look at me-actually treating money like dung.
My heart ached.
Then it hit me.
All his passwords were my birthday.
Didn’t that mean I could log into his accounts and transfer money to myself?
I thought about it for a few seconds, then gave up.
Too illegal.
That night, I dreamed about that night.
The night I seduced Qi Xian.
The lights were dim.
He was sitting on the sofa, his tie loosened halfway, gazing down at me.
“Are you seducing me?”
His tone was as cold as ever.
But I refused to give up. I climbed onto him and asked with a smile,
“Is it working?”
He lifted my face.
“Do you know what you’re doing?”
“I do.”
His thumb brushed over my cheek.
“Don’t regret it.”
The next second, he yanked me hard into his arms, one hand clamped around my waist, his voice so hoarse it barely sounded like his.
“Say my name.”
I bit my lip and didn’t make a sound.
His fingers tightened.
“Say it.”
“…Qi Xian.”
Wet heat. Ragged breaths. Heartbeats. Losing control.
When I jolted awake, my whole body was drenched in sweat.
My phone had been vibrating nonstop.
It was a call from Qi Xian.
As if possessed, I answered it.
His rough breathing came through the phone.
“Miss Jiang, I’m sorry.”
“I know I’m disturbing you, but there’s something very important I need to tell you.”
