After Being a Heartbreaker to the Male Lead - Chapter 2
Chapter 2
After returning to the sect, I went straight into secluded cultivation to refine the Primordial Yang. This Primordial Yang was seriously incredible-an endless supply, impossible to exhaust. It was absolutely overpowered.
The lightning tribulation came down with terrifying force. I suffered quite a bit, but I still managed to scrape through.
I spat out a mouthful of black smoke, then used the Dust-Clearing Spell to clean off my charred body.
When I checked my cultivation again, it really was worthy of the Sword Venerable’s Primordial Yang. I had advanced by more than a whole major realm, with three extra minor stages on top of that, only stopping at the mid-stage of Tribulation Transcendence.
No wonder he was the piece of Tang Monk meat everyone in the Joyous Union Sect coveted. And now I finally got a bite.
I was still sighing over it when the restriction was split open with a single sword strike.
Amid the shower of shattered light from the destroyed barrier, Shen Lingyuan’s cold face looked even colder than usual. “You did that to me…”
He was too ashamed to say the word. His cool, jade-like face was tinged with a thin flush of fury.
“That’s right. I slept with you.”
The tip of his sword came to rest against my throat, but my aura was even fiercer, my resentment even stronger. “What, you really want to kill me?”
“Do it!”
I lifted my chin and leaned toward the blade. He actually retreated two steps and sheathed his sword. “What the hell are you doing? Have you gone crazy?”
[What is the male lead doing? Why hasn’t he killed her yet?]
[The Joyous Union Sect and Kunlun are allies. They just fought the demon army together a few days ago. If he kills someone on their turf now, that’d be bad.]
[Exactly. The male lead must be sparing her for the sake of the alliance.]
…I knew he wouldn’t dare kill someone openly in the Joyous Union Sect.
“Shen Lingyuan, aren’t you disgusted by me? Then let me make this clear today-I was just playing around with you. Now that I’ve gotten what I wanted, I’m not interested anymore.
“If you’ve got the guts, then kill me!
“What are you staring at?! If you’re not going to do it, then get lost!”
He frowned and watched me vent, and kept watching until I ran out of steam. I collapsed onto the bed and waved a hand weakly. “Forget it. Just go. Looking at you annoys me.”
“Were you… like that because I was poisoned?”
Huh?
“The Qiu Jishui I know wouldn’t take advantage of someone when they’re vulnerable.”
Damn… that one sentence dragged every last bit of my conscience right back out.
[Ahhhhhh! The vicious supporting female is absolutely taking advantage of him while he’s vulnerable!!!]
[She did this and that to you while you were unconscious, and they went at it for five or six hours!]
[But didn’t the male lead wake up halfway through? Didn’t they say he’s so vigilant that even unconscious, he’d kill people in his sleep? Why didn’t he kill her?]
[…And he got hard way too fast. The male lead’s willpower is insanely strong-before this, he was always completely unmoved by temptation.]
I covered my face with both hands, immersed in remorse, not even looking at the danmu flickering in the air.
“Shen Lingyuan… you were wrong about me… Forget it, you should just kill me instead.”
I reached out to pull his sword free. The blade kept trembling. For his natal sword to react like that, his killing intent had to be intense.
“Come on, right here. One thrust and it’ll all be over.”
His gaze followed my finger to my chest-then he abruptly turned his face away, the tips of his ears reddening at astonishing speed.
“Qiu Jishui, stop being unreasonable.”
Right. My spirit robe had been blasted into tatters by the lightning tribulation, leaving things rather exposed.
But for him to get that flustered from one glance… well, that tracked. The next second, he vanished on the spot.
I stared at the wide-open door, then at the now-empty room, thoroughly baffled.
He just… left?
He really wasn’t going to kill me?
Many thanks to Sword Venerable Shen for sparing my life. I’ll forever remember the kindness of letting me sleep with him for free.
