After Clearing the Infinite Flow, I Tamed the Mad Dog Boss - Chapter 17
Chapter 17
The villager’s finger was wrenched clean off at the joint. Blood gushed from the break, soaking all the way down into his sleeve.
“Gaaah!” The villager clenched his teeth, sweat pouring down his face. The pain left him curled on the ground, unable to get up.
The companions around him broke out in a cold sweat at the sight. It took them several seconds to react, picking up the severed finger before dragging him away.
Another villager charged over in a fury. “You little shit!”
He raised his leg and kicked straight at Qin Xian’s head.
Qin Xian had not been using much strength this whole time. The villagers holding him had let down their guard and were not even paying attention to defense.
So when that foot came flying at him, Qin Xian suddenly exerted force and dodged to the side. The villager’s kick slammed directly into his companion instead. The distracted man took the full force of it in the soft side of his waist, clutching himself with both hands as stars burst before his eyes from the pain.
“Fuck, you kicked me! Just send this brat to the Dark Web Livestream! Skin him, harvest his organs while he’s still alive, and let’s see if he can keep acting so cocky!”
“Fine. Let’s do that.” The villager turned to Qin Xian. “You brought this on yourself. You could’ve stayed alive, gone to the livestream, stripped a little, and pleased some rich ladies. Now you can only be a lamb waiting for slaughter.”
Qin Xian’s face remained expressionless. He did not look even the slightest bit afraid.
That only enraged the villager further. He sneered. “Still wearing that face, huh? Take them to see the other livestream rooms. After he sees them, I want to know if he can still keep that expression. Hmph.”
The idea immediately won support from the others. “Good, good. Just looking at him like that pisses me off! Get up! Come with me.”
The villagers hauled Qin Xian up from the ground. Huang Quxie, beside him, received the same treatment.
Qin Xian did not resist. After obediently rising to his feet, he followed the force of the villagers’ pull and walked forward. This time, however, the villagers did not dare take him lightly. A full four of them, weapons in hand, walked around Qin Xian, nervously watching his every move.
Qin Xian walked with an easy stride while observing his surroundings.
He had thought the two makeshift rooms aboveground were already this village’s lowest point. He had not expected something even more outrageous to exist underground.
The entire underground area was constructed from strange materials. The floor, walls, and ceiling were all machinery mixed with flesh and blood, similar to the mutations on those monsters’ bodies.
Aside from those eerie structures, dense tangles of cables writhed all over the rooms. Some were black, others dark red, their outer casings wrapped in slimy filth. They were alive, twisting from time to time like worms. Just looking at them for too long made one’s stomach turn.
Perhaps because the place was stuffed full of bizarre things, the underground space did not seem very large. There were only a few rooms.
Every room had livestreaming equipment set up just like the ones on the surface. There were also operating tables, instrument trays, and even some rooms with restraint chairs, wooden horses, water beds, and a whole heap of things that absolutely needed to be censored.
Inside each room, one person-or even several-was suffering.
Qin Xian and Huang Quxie passed the first room and saw someone lying on a bloody operating table. He kept screaming while a monster with a camera for a head ignored him completely, using a scalpel to slice into his skin. Blood poured from the opened wounds, spreading all over the floor.
The giant electronic screen opposite them showed the footage of the “operation,” the entire display awash in red without a single mosaic censor.
This was clearly not a normal livestream room, and the audience was not normal either.
Comments kept flashing across the screen:
[That muscle. So fresh and beautiful.]
[Cut the artery in his hand! Cut it and I’ll tip twenty thousand!]
[Don’t just point the camera at the incision. I want to see this pig’s face while he’s in pain, hehe.]
The camera-headed monster emitted a mechanical buzz of static as it interacted with the audience. “Haha, as long as there are tips, I’ll satisfy everyone’s requests. But we have to go in order and take it slow, from the skin to the organs. If we kill him all at once, where’s the fun in that?”
Qin Xian watched with a frown. The villager holding him saw that his expression had finally changed and immediately leaned in with a savage grin. “See that? That’s what’ll happen to you in a bit.”
Qin Xian rolled his eyes at him on the spot, then went right back to being expressionless.
Huang Quxie, on the other hand, had gone deathly pale beside him, his teeth clenched tight as he stared at the villager like he might lunge forward and bite him at any second.
Seeing this, the villager snapped, “Still not scared!? If blood doesn’t scare you, then how about this!?”
With that, he dragged Qin Xian to the next room.
Inside lay a handsome, muscular man. His eyes were lifeless as he stared at the camera. Thick black cables filled the room, binding and penetrating him from every angle, suspending him in midair.
The man kept letting out pained groans, tears sliding continuously from his eyes.
The villager laughed. “How about it? Why don’t we let you spend some time in this livestream room first, then put you on the operating table afterward?”
Qin Xian raised his head and gave his enemy a mocking smile. “I think… how about no.”
The moment the words left his mouth, he seized the wrist of the villager behind him and snapped it downward.
Crack!
The man’s wrist dislocated, and he screamed as he collapsed to the ground.
Qin Xian used the chance to break free completely, then raised his arm and drove his elbow straight into the villager holding Huang Quxie. The hard point of his elbow smashed viciously into the man’s vulnerable face.
“Aaaah!” The villager lost the ability to stand on the spot, crashed backward onto the ground, and passed out.
Huang Quxie seized the chance to break free as well. With a shoulder throw, he slammed an onrushing villager to the floor.
Qin Xian shouted at him, “Now would be the time to use your gun, right?!”
Huang Quxie drew his handgun and blew a monster’s head apart. “I know! But where’s your trump card?”
Blue flames suddenly ignited in Qin Xian’s hand, and a long black whip appeared in his grip.
Qin Xian snapped the whip. It cracked through the air and sliced straight through one monster’s metal leg.
Huang Quxie stared at the whip. He couldn’t tell what it was made of at all, but once it started moving, it was lethally effective.
With the whip in hand, Qin Xian’s aura turned even more terrifying. He didn’t even move from where he stood. One lift of his arm, and he smashed apart the head of an enemy three meters away.
Crack!
One lash landed, and deep, bone-revealing wounds opened across the villagers and monsters trying to rush him.
Crack!
Another lash snapped out. The nearest monster had its neck caught and was dragged in front of Qin Xian, where he stomped its camera head to pieces.
Huang Quxie fired toward the other side, shooting down two monsters before moving closer to Qin Xian. “What now? Where do we go?”
A flash of gold passed through Qin Xian’s eyes. He pointed at a pitch-black wall in the distance. “That way.”
Huang Quxie swept a glance over it. The wall was wrapped in all kinds of cables and didn’t look like it had a path through it at all.
That “wall” seemed to sense what the two of them were thinking. Cables of every color began to writhe, then suddenly shot out toward Qin Xian.
Qin Xian lashed out hard, but a whip was almost useless against cables that were just as flexible. After several strikes, he had barely snapped one or two of them.
The rest still came surging over like a tidal wave. Standing before them, Qin Xian looked impossibly small.
Huang Quxie shouted in alarm, “Careful!”
Qin Xian stared straight ahead. Just as the cables were about to bind him, blue flames suddenly flared at the end of the whip.
The passing cables brushed over the fire, and the flames immediately clung to them like a parasite burrowing into bone.
The cables froze for an instant, as if suffering unbearable pain, then thrashed left and right, slapping wildly around as though trying to put out the fire.
But not only could the flames not be extinguished, any untouched cable that so much as brushed against them instantly caught fire too.
A piercing shriek came from deep within the room. The cables struggled even more violently, knocking over the nearby livestreaming equipment and scaring the surrounding villagers into fleeing with screams.
The scattered monsters nearby rushed forward to help, but after being splashed by the flames, they soon rolled across the ground and turned into piles of ash.
Huang Quxie was busy rescuing the victims in the livestreaming room when the inextinguishable, touch-and-die flames startled him badly.
When a spark landed on his hand, he was so frightened he was ready to cut off his own arm to save his life. In the end, the flames seemed not to burn allies and quickly went out.
Huang Quxie stared, dumbfounded. “Bro, is that Samadhi True Fire or Void Devouring Flame?”
But he received no answer. Huang Quxie turned his head and found Qin Xian’s face had gone visibly pale. It seemed using those flames was not easy, and most likely carried a serious backlash for the user.
The cable monster seemed to realize the fire was unusual as well. The cables that had been constantly struggling went limp one after another and dropped to the ground, lying motionless as the flames burned them away.
Looking carefully ahead, the wall that had once been covered in cables had vanished, revealing the horrifying thing on the other side.
A massive monster was curled up in a hole, hugging its knees. Its head was made of dozens of monitors large and small, but scraps of human flesh and blood still remained on the screens.
Countless cables extended from the monster’s back, filling the entire space.
And now, it was screaming as it severed its own limbs, stopping the flames from burning all the way to its main body. A huge mass of severed appendages fell to the ground, piling up nearly half a meter high.
The blue flames swiftly swallowed the severed limbs. Before long, only heaps of ash remained on the floor. The surrounding villagers had already run off, and the less intelligent monsters left behind were burned into a brief frenzy before collapsing dead.
In just a few minutes, the underground chamber became much quieter.
Huang Quxie walked over to Qin Xian and reached out to support him. “Hey, you all right? Here, drink some water.”
Qin Xian avoided his hand, but took the water and gulped down nearly half the bottle. He wiped his mouth, let out a long breath, and leaned against the dirt wall that had finally revealed its original appearance to rest.
The blue flames on the ground had not completely gone out yet, and the huge monster ten meters away didn’t dare attack them. But nearly a hundred electronic screens on its head flickered with one enormous eye, staring fixedly at Qin Xian as if it wanted nothing more than to rush over and eat him in the next second.
Qin Xian smiled. He clearly looked exhausted, but he still raised a hand toward the monster and gave it the middle finger.
Huang Quxie said, “Hey…”
