“Senior Brother, help me fetch my robes!”

I shouted at the top of my lungs from the hot spring behind the mountain.

Before long, a tall, slender figure appeared through the swirling steam.

“Chang’an, you’re already twenty. How are you still so careless about everything?”

Was he looking down on me?

I felt aggrieved.

The hand I had stretched out immediately drew back, and I began shamelessly making trouble.

“Senior Brother, I sprained my wrist. You’ll have to wipe me down.”

The ripples spreading across the water seemed to still for an instant.

Senior Brother stopped in front of me.

Only then did I notice that he had turned his head away.

Not even the corner of his eye rested on me.

“Senior Brother, did you sleep wrong and hurt your neck?”

I rose naked from the water.

Using every ounce of strength I had, I forced his head to face forward.

“There. Now hurry and wipe me.”

Perhaps the steam from the spring was simply too hot.

A deep flush spread across Senior Brother’s fair, handsome cheeks.

“Nonsense! Do it yourself!”

He shoved the cloth at me and tried to leave.

But I was quick enough to catch him.

Holding his hand, I used it to wipe the water from my collarbone downward.

The instant his fingertips touched my damp skin, Senior Brother’s entire body stiffened.

I had anticipated that.

Putting on a pitiful expression, I began recounting my woes.

“Senior Brother, you know I lost my parents when I was little. I’ve followed you since I was six. Bathing me, dressing me, feeding me—you did all of it yourself.”

“Now you won’t even help wipe me dry. Are you tired of me? Do you not want me anymore?”

Sure enough, the hand that had been about to pull away paused.

“I have not stopped wanting you.”

“Fine. Just this once.”

Senior Brother sighed.

Resigned to his fate, he let me hold his wrist and guide his hand over the droplets on my body.

Past my abs.

Down to my lower belly.

The gaze that had remained fixed on my face abruptly turned dark and fathomless.

Senior Brother’s Adam’s apple bobbed.

All at once, he dropped the cloth, turned, and left.

“Senior Brother is feeling unwell. Wipe the rest yourself.”

After giving myself a few careless swipes, I prepared to climb out.

Only then did I discover that the inner robe I had taken off was gone.

“How strange. I definitely left it on that rock.”

I did not keep looking.

I casually threw on an outer robe and headed toward the house.

Senior Brother had staggered when he left, and his voice had been terribly hoarse.

He had to be seriously ill.

I needed to check on him at once.

But the moment I reached the door, I heard one muffled groan after another from inside.

My heart lurched.

He was panting so hard.

Could he have contracted some grave illness?

My concern threw me into a panic.

In my urgency, I kicked the door open and charged inside.

“Senior Brother!”

“Why didn’t you tell me you were sick? I’ll go down the mountain with you to get some medi—”

The final word died in my throat when I saw what the man on the bed was doing.

The instant our eyes met, Senior Brother’s pupils contracted sharply.

The flush drained visibly from his face, leaving it deathly pale.

I stood frozen, my gaze sliding helplessly downward from his face.

A white garment covered that part of him.

It looked somewhat familiar.

I blinked and started forward for a closer look.

But I had barely taken half a step when a breeze swept past me.

Senior Brother flicked his hand, sending out a burst of spiritual power.

Every lamp in the room went dark at once.

“Why did you come in without knocking?”

His voice sounded stiff.

So he was embarrassed.

Senior Brother had always treated me extremely well.

I did not want him to feel awkward.

In a flash of inspiration, I came up with a brilliant way to ease the tension.

“Senior Brother, you’re really big!”

Afraid he would not sense my sincerity, I felt my way onto the bed in the dark.

I took his hand and guided it inside my robe.

“Feel mine, Senior Brother.”

“Yours is much bigger.”

The instant he touched me, the man before me seemed to stop breathing altogether.

His palm turned scorching hot.

He did not dare move a muscle.

“Well? I wasn’t lying, was I?”

The moment I finished speaking, Senior Brother snatched his hand back with a whoosh.

Was he still embarrassed?

I blinked and praised him even more enthusiastically.

“I was jealous when we bathed together as children. I’m even more jealous now.”

“As expected of the Sword Sect’s foremost senior disciple. You excel at everything—you’re gifted beyond compare!”

I was the classic Senior-Brother-obsessed fool.

Once I started praising him, I went all in, lost myself, and let every thought tumble out of my mouth.

“Senior Brother is a sword cultivator, after all. Of course you have to cultivate both swords.”

“I wonder who will become your cultivation partner one day. Just imagining it, I can already tell how lucky they’ll be…”

I kept chattering away to myself.

I did not notice the temperature in the room climbing steadily.

By the time I came back to my senses, the air had turned scorching and heavy.

“Senior Brother, do you smell a strange floral fragrance?”
