After My Senior Brother Lost All His Cultivation - Chapter 3
I reached Ji Mingyi’s courtyard at sunset in an excellent mood.
Then I heard laughter drifting over the wall.
What were they so happy about?
For some reason, it irritated me.
After concealing my aura, I climbed an ancient tree beside the courtyard wall and hid in its crown. I parted the leaves for a look.
A flock of newly admitted disciples had gathered in the courtyard, chirping like sparrows. Ji Mingyi sat in the middle of them in snow-white robes, his black hair half tied up and his expression unbearably gentle.
Whatever they were discussing kept making the group erupt in laughter.
Seriously?
Ji Mingyi was already useless. How was he still attracting so many disciples?
Infuriating!
I punched the tree. Its branches shuddered, scattering leaves through the air.
Ji Mingyi seemed to sense something and looked up. I flattened myself against the trunk and held my breath.
Fortunately, my aura-concealing art was excellent. Ji Mingyi didn’t notice me. Finding nothing amiss, he turned back and continued talking with the disciples, patiently answering every question they asked.
I furiously clawed a chunk of bark off the tree.
Hah!
Putting on an act again!
Tonight, I would expose his true face once and for all.
The younger disciples did not leave until nightfall. After Ji Mingyi went inside, I slid down the tree, lingered outside his door for a moment, then pried open the latch and crept in.
The room was pitch-dark. I failed to see a wooden stool and kicked it.
Ji Mingyi jolted awake. “Who’s there?!”
My heart jumped, and my first instinct was to hide behind the screen. Then I remembered that Ji Mingyi was no longer a Spirit Transformation cultivator.
Nascent Soul versus a useless cripple. The advantage was mine!
I straightened at once and pounced like a tiger.
Ji Mingyi struggled when I slammed him into the bedding, but how could he possibly be a match for me now? Within two moves, I had him pinned beneath me.
To keep him from escaping, I straddled him, thighs clamped around his waist, backside planted on his stomach, both hands pressing down on his shoulders.
Senior Brother struggled only a little before running out of strength and giving up.
That was it?
I grinned. “First Senior Brother Ji. Never thought you’d see this day, did you?”
“Junior Brother Mu?” Ji Mingyi blurted in surprise.
Oh, so he hadn’t completely forgotten me.
Now that he’d recognized me, there was no point hiding. I snapped my fingers, and the lamps in the room flared to life.
Firelight danced across Senior Brother where he lay in the bedding. His black hair was disheveled, his beautiful face and neck flushed from the struggle. He looked nothing like the upright, self-possessed First Senior Brother everyone knew. He looked like a seductive spirit that had wandered out of the wilds.
I mocked him gleefully.
“Oh dear, how pitiful. How very wretched.”
“Where did our elegant, dignified First Senior Brother go?”
Senior Brother did not get angry. His voice remained mild and warm. “Junior Brother Mu, what brings you here at this hour?”
Still pretending.
I curled my lip. “Something went wrong with my cultivation recently.”
Understanding dawned on Ji Mingyi’s face. “You need your senior brother’s help?”
“That’s right. I need you.”
I leaned closer.
“I need you to become my cultivation cauldron.”
“Help me cultivate.”
